A power supply device includes a battery block in which a plurality of battery cells is stacked in a thickness with separator clamped therebetween, a pair of end plates disposed on opposing end faces of the battery block, and a binding bar coupled to the pair of end plates and fixing the battery block in a compressed state via the end plates, in order to absorb expansion of the battery cells with the separator and suppress degradation of the separator in a state of being heated by the battery cells. Separator has a three-layer structure including viscoelastic elastic sheet that absorbs expansion of battery cell and heat-insulating sheets laminated on opposing surfaces of elastic sheet, and heat-insulating sheet is hybrid material of an inorganic powder and a fibrous reinforcing material.

Power supply device includes a plurality of battery cells each having an exterior can in a prismatic shape, a pair of end plates having pressing surfaces that press both side end surfaces of battery stack in which the plurality of battery cells are stacked, a plurality of fastening members each of which has a plate shape extended in a stacking direction of the plurality of battery cells and is disposed on opposing side surfaces of battery stack to fasten end plates to each other, thermal plate for placing battery stack on an upper surface side to dissipate heat from battery stack, and heat transfer sheet interposed between an upper surface of thermal plate and a lower surface of battery stack to bring thermal plate and battery stack into a thermally coupled state. A part of a lower surface of each of end plates, the part facing heat transfer sheet, is disposed at the same height as or above an upper surface of heat transfer sheet.

Power supply device includes: battery stack formed by stacking a plurality of battery cells; a pair of end plates disposed at both ends of the battery stack; binding bars configured to connect the pair of end plates; lower plate that is brought into contact with heat radiation surfaces of battery cells forming the battery stack and to which heat energy of battery cell is transferred; and heat conductive sheet having plasticity and stacked on a surface of lower plate. In lower plate, contact surface that is brought into contact with heat conductive sheet is regular uneven surface, heat conductive sheet is stacked on uneven surface in a pressed state, heat conductive surface of heat conductive sheet is deformed into a concave shape along uneven surface, and heat conductive sheet and lower plate are stacked on each other in a contact state.

Buffer includes a plurality of covers made of resin, and a connecting part, having flexibility, for connecting two of the plurality of covers. Buffer is configured such that each of the plurality of covers is disposed on the upper surface of corresponding one of secondary battery cells, and each of pressing part abuts on the upper surface of the corresponding cover.
