A lens system includes lens elements and a diaphragm. The lens elements include freeform lenses each having a freeform surface asymmetrical with respect to first and second directions. At least one freeform lens is placed on the image plane side of the diaphragm. The lens system satisfies a following conditional expression (1); where N: a total number of the freeform surfaces on the object side of the diaphragm, k: a number indicating a freeform surface among the N freeform surfaces, SAG1, SAG2: a sag amount at a position where a height of a k-th freeform surface in the first or second direction is 40% of an image height in the first direction, Y2: an image height in the second direction, Θ1: a full angle of view in the first direction, and Δnd: a difference between refractive indexes on the both sides of the k-th freeform surface.

Lens system, imaging device, and imaging system

A lens system includes a plurality of lens elements arranged from an object side to an image plane side, and a diaphragm arranged between the plurality of lens elements. The plurality of lens elements include a plurality of freeform lenses each having a freeform surface that is asymmetrical with respect to a first direction and a second direction which cross with each other. At least one freeform lens is placed on the image plane side of the diaphragm. With a lens thickness T1 in the first direction at a maximum height of an axial ray and a lens thickness T2 in the second direction at the maximum height of the axial ray, at least one freeform lens satisfying 0.3<T1/T2<0.76 is placed on the object side of the diaphragm.

An imaging optical system has an image circle defined on an imaging element. The imaging optical system includes: lens elements arranged from an object side to an image plane side, and a diaphragm arranged between two of the lens elements. The lens elements include freeform lens elements, each having a freeform surface that is an asymmetrical surface with respect to a first cross section and a second cross section, the first cross section being defined by a first direction and an optical axis direction, the second cross section being defined by a second direction and the optical axis direction, the first direction crossing the second direction, and the optical axis direction being orthogonal to the first direction and the second direction. At least two of the freeform lens elements are located on an object side of the diaphragm.

A lens system that forms an image on an imaging element, includes: first to third lens element arranged in order; a diaphragm; and a lens element on the image surface side. At least one of the first and second lens elements has a free-curved surface, and one of the first and second lens elements has free-curved surfaces on both sides. The third lens element has free-curved surfaces on both sides. The first lens element has a convex shape, toward the object side, of a surface facing the object side. The second lens element has a convex shape, toward the object side, of a surface facing the image surface side. The third lens element has a convex shape, toward the image surface side, of a surface facing the object side. The lens element on the image surface side has, at least on the object side, a free-curved surface.

A lens system for forming an image of light incident from an object side on an imaging element arranged on an image surface side includes: a plurality of lens elements including free-curved surface lenses; and a diaphragm arranged between the plurality of lens elements. The lens elements form a front group arranged on the object side of the diaphragm, and a rear group arranged on the image surface side of the diaphragm. A first lens element closest to the object side in the plurality of lens elements has an aspherical surface that is rotationally symmetrical. The free-curved surface lenses each has a free-curved surface that is asymmetrical with respect to a first direction and a second direction crossing with each other. A free-curved surface lens satisfying a conditional expression 'D×(SV−SH)/IH>0.08' is arranged on the rear group in the plurality of lens elements.

An imaging apparatus is attached to a side of a moving body (for example, vehicle). The imaging apparatus includes an image sensor and an optical system that forms a subject image in a range of a predetermined vertical view angle and a predetermined horizontal view angle on an imaging surface. The optical system forms an image on the imaging surface so as to cause resolution in first region (R) of the imaging surface to be higher than resolution in second region (R) different from the first region. A position of center (G) of first region (R) is at least one of a position horizontally shifted from a center of the horizontal view angle and a position vertically shifted from a center of the vertical view angle.

Imaging apparatus, imaging system, and display system

An imaging device includes an image sensor and an optical system. An imaging surface of the image sensor includes a first region including an intersection with an optical axis and a second region different from the first region. The optical system forms a subject image on the imaging surface so as to cause resolution of the first region to be higher than resolution of the second region. A relationship between a vertical view angle and resolution is different from a relationship between a horizontal view angle and resolution in the subject image.

An object of the present disclosure is to increase resolution of a part required for sensing while achieving a wide view angle. An imaging device according to the present disclosure includes an image sensor and an optical system. An imaging surface of the image sensor includes a first region and a second region different from the first region. The optical system forms a subject image on the imaging surface so as to cause resolution of an image in the first region to be higher than resolution of an image in the second region. The first region is arranged so as to include a region where an image of a person's face is formed on the imaging surface.

The imaging element has a plurality of pixels arranged in a two-dimensional manner and generates image data. The optical system forms a subject image on an imaging surface of the imaging element. Image processing device () generates a captured image based on the image data. The imaging surface includes a first region corresponding to a first view angle and a second region corresponding to a second view angle that is larger than the first view angle. The optical system is configured so that resolution of the first region is higher than resolution of the second region excluding the first region. A center of the first region is disposed at a position deviated from a center of the imaging surface.
