A pile fabric includes a long pile portion and a short pile portion. An average pile length of the long pile portion differs from an average pile length of the short pile portion by 2 mm or more. The long pile portion contains crimped polyester-based fibers in an amount of 60% by weight or more. The short pile portion contains crimped polyester-based fibers in an amount of 60% by weight or more. A crimp removal temperature of the polyester-based fibers of the long pile portion is lower than a crimp removal temperature of the polyester-based fibers of the short pile portion. The crimp removal temperature of the polyester-based fibers of the short pile portion is 90° C. or more and 120° C. or less. Each of the crimp removal temperatures indicates a minimum temperature that satisfies a specific relationship. A method for manufacturing the pile fabric is also provided.

An antibacterial artificial hair of the present invention includes an artificial hair and organic resin particles adhering to the artificial hair. The organic resin particles are powdered fine particles including an organic resin and an aluminum salt that is chemically bonded to the organic resin. An antibacterial coating agent for artificial hair of the present invention is used for an artificial hair and obtained by dispersing the organic resin particles in an aqueous medium. The presence of the organic resin particles including the aluminum salt not only provides the luster and texture similar to those of human hair, but also imparts the antibacterial properties.

The artificial hair of the present invention comprising a flame-retardant polyester-based fiber that is formed of a composition obtained by melt-kneading, the composition comprising: 100 parts by weight of polyester (A); 5 parts by weight to 30 parts by weight of a bromine-containing flame retardancy agent (B); and 0.5 parts by weight to 10 parts by weight of an antimony compound (C) having an average particle diameter ranging from 1.5 &#x3bc;m to 15 &#x3bc;m, wherein the polyester (A) is made of at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polyalkylene terephthalate and copolyester, where the copolyester contains polyalkylene terephthalate as a main component, and 0.01% omf to 1% omf of a polyorganosiloxane-based fiber treating agent (E) is deposited on the flame-retardant polyester-based fiber. Artificial hair is made of flame-retardant polyester-based fiber formed of a composition obtained by melt-kneading 5 parts by weight to 30 parts by weight of a bromine-containing flame retardancy agent (B), 0.5 parts by weight to 10 parts by weight of an antimony compound (C) having an average particle diameter ranging from 1.5 &#x3bc;m to 15 &#x3bc;m, and 0.05 parts by weight to 10 parts by weight of at least one kind of a compound (D) selected from the group consisting of: biscarbodiimide compounds; polycarbodiimide compounds; bisoxazoline compounds; and isocyanate compounds, with respect to 100 parts by weight of polyester (A) made of at least one kind of polyalkylene terephthalate and copolyester that contains polyalkylene terephthalate as a main component. Also provided is a fiber for artificial hairs obtained by adhering to that fiber either a polyorganosiloxane-based fiber treating agent or a fiber treating agent containing a flame-retardant organosilicon compound.

A flame retardant polyester fiber for artificial hair, which is obtained by melt spinning a composition as a mixture of 100 parts by weight of (A) a polyester made of one or more of polyalkylene terephthalate and a copolymer polyester comprising polyalkylene terephthalate as a main component with 5 to 30 parts by weight of (B) a brominated epoxy flame retardant. The present invention also relates to the polyester fiber for artificial hair which has at least one modified cross-section, is a mixture with a fiber having a modified cross-section, and has a mixing ratio of the fiber having a round cross-section to the fiber having a modified cross-section is 8:2 to 1:9, and to the flame retardant polyester fiber for artificial hair which further comprises a hydrophilic fiber treating agent attached thereto, and thus has excellent smooth feeling, combing properties, and flame retardance.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a polyester fiber for artificial hair which has an excellent spinning processability, maintains fiber properties possessed by conventional polyester fiber, and has excellent flame retardance, heat resistance, transparency and the like. A flame retardant polyester fiber for artificial hair which achieves the above object can be obtained by melt spinning a composition in which 5 to 30 parts by weight of (B) a brominated epoxy based flame retardant and 0.05 to 1 parts by weight of (C) a reaction accelerator is mixed with 100 parts by weight of (A) a polyester made of one or more of polyalkylene terephthalate or a copolymer polyester comprising polyalkylene terephthalate as a main component.
