An electric power conversion device includes: a first electric power conversion circuit, a current detection circuit, an electric power conversion circuit of field coil excite use, a control circuit, and detector which detects an induced electromotive force generated in the motor generator. In a case where an over current, is detected by the first electric power conversion circuit, the control circuit turns off a switching of a phase of the first electric power conversion circuit from which an over current s detected and a switching of the electric power conversion circuit of field coil excite use. After the value of an induced electromotive force by the motor generator falls below a predetermined value, the control circuit controls to stop a supply of electric power of all phases by the first electric power conversion circuit.

Provided is a construction machine capable of suppressing deformation of a boom in a simple configuration and at low costs. The construction machine includes a pair of backstops having respective hydraulic cylinders; a supply device which supplies the hydraulic cylinders with hydraulic fluid; a deformation sensing device which senses deformation of the boom; and a control device which controls the supply device so as to make a thrust of the hydraulic cylinder of one backstop having a larger pressing force, out of the pair of backstops, be larger than a thrust of the hydraulic cylinder of the other backstop, the pressing force being applied due to the deformation of the boom.

A chimney has a lower portion substantially in the shape of a pyramid and an upper portion forming a cylindrical portion that extends with a predetermined dimension upwardly and is provided in a ceiling portion of a building of a coil yard that is used for temporary storage of the hot-rolled coil which is an intermediate iron and steel product acting as a high-temperature heat radiator that is manufactured using the hot-rolling equipment of an iron and steel mill. A power generating turbine is provided at a predetermined position in the cylindrical portion. An intake duct is provided on a lower end portion of the side walls of the building. Hot-rolled coils that are in a high-temperature condition after manufacture are successively imported into the coil yard and accumulated and stored until transfer to a subsequent processing step. An ascending airflow is generated by sequential heating of air introduced into the building from the intake duct using heat retained in the hot-rolled coils. The power generating turbines are rotated by the ascending airflow passing through the cylindrical portion of the chimney to thereby execute wind power generation. As a result, the heat retained in the high-temperature heat radiator manufactured by introduction of heat can be efficiently used.

The present invention relates to the providing of a rolling mill that makes it possible to more accurately control the shape of a plate material than has hitherto been possible, and to a rolling method, and is a rolling mill that rolls a plate material using vertical work rolls, and that includes: a coolant jet spray unit that has a plurality of nozzles that are arranged at predetermined intervals in the direction of the rotation axis of the work rolls, and that sprays jets of coolant from the respective nozzles onto the work rolls; a roll temperature estimation unit that estimates a mean temperature of the work rolls; a coolant temperature detection unit that detects a temperature of the coolant; a shape detection unit that detects the shape in the width direction of the rolled plate material; a shape deviation calculation unit that calculates an amount of deviation between a plate material shape detected by the shape detection unit and a target shape; and a shape control unit that controls the shape of the plate material by controlling the spray quantity and/or temperature of the coolant which is sprayed from the coolant jet spray unit based on a difference between the mean temperature of the work rolls and the temperature of the coolant, and on the amount of deviation between the plate material shape and the target shape.

Rolling mill and rolling method

The present disclosure relates to a hot rolling apparatus for manufacturing a metal plate by hot-rolling-treating a metal material including copper. The apparatus includes: a rough rolling device for rolling-treating the metal material, which has been heating-treated, a plurality of times with a back-and-forth movement of the metal material, to mold the metal material into a metal plate; a heat retention/application treatment device for retaining heat of or applying heat to the metal plate molded by the rough rolling device at lower temperatures than in the heating treatment, without applying bending; a finish rolling device for further rolling-treating the metal plate that has been heat-treated by the heat retention/application treatment device; a cooling device for cooling the metal plate that has been rolling-treated by the finish rolling device; and a support table for movably supporting the metal plate from below before and after the rough rolling device while the metal material is moved back and forth by the rough rolling device. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to improve the quality of the metal plate manufactured in the hot rolling apparatus, and also to improve the speed of the process required for rolling.

Hot rolling apparatus

In a twin roll continuous caster, the contour of the strip cast is controlled during casting by regulating the temperature of temperature-regulating medium circulated through temperature-regulating passages in the casting rolls spaced inward of cooling passages in the circumferential portion adjacent the casting surfaces. The temperature-regulating passages may be positioned in the circumferential portion or in the inner portion of the casting rolls, or both.

Twin roll continuous caster

A metal strip casting apparatus and method of casting metal strip include assembling a pair of counter-rotatable casting rolls positioned laterally forming a nip between for casting, and assembling a pair of brush rolls, each of the brush rolls associated with one of each of the casting rolls. Each brush roll includes at least one spaced apart brush line extending substantially along the axial length of the casting roll. The brush lines may form a spiral, zigzag, wave or crisscross array about the brush roll. The brush roll may include one or more staggered rings with regularly or irregularly spaced apart bristles which form the brush lines. The brush lines may be between 10 to 50 mm apart and separated by between 2 mm to 45 mm of open space. The brush lines may be one line per 10 mm to 90 mm of axial length of brush roll.

Provided is a twin-roll casting machine capable of suppressing irregularities in crosswise thickness distribution of a strip. The twin-roll casting machine comprises chilled rolls, side weirs, and nozzle pieces. A plurality of openings for supply of molten metal to between the chilled rolls are formed alternately on portions of each of the nozzle pieces adjacent to the one and the other rolls, respectively, and are spaced apart from each other axially of the rolls.

A roll polishing apparatus that can suppress cracks on a strip. The roll polishing apparatus includes brush rolls which face outer periphery of chilled rolls over an axial length of the chilled rolls, respectively, cylinders which urge the brush rolls wholly to the chilled rolls, respectively, and cylinders which deform the brush rolls in conformity to crowns of the chilled rolls, respectively. By these elements, wires of the brush rolls are uniformly contacted on outer peripheries of the chilled rolls to wipe off oxides adhering to the outer peripheries of the chilled rolls.

Roll polishing apparatus

An operation to acquire a strip with less thickness even if arcuate worn steps are formed on side weirs is disclosed. During an operation of a twin-roll casting machine with arcuate worn steps developing on side weirs due to rotational sliding contact of chilled rolls, the thickness of a steel strip from a nip is reduced, and the center-to-center distance between the rolls is increased with the side weirs in contact with ends of the rolls being displaced upward. This prevents interference of outer peripheries of the rolls with boundary surfaces adjacent to the arcuate worn steps of the side weirs.

Operating method for twin-roll casting machine, and side weir supporting device

A twin roll caster including chilled rolls, side weirs, and a molten-metal delivery nozzle. Baffles, contiguous with bottoms of end faces of the nozzle, project in a casting pool toward the side weirs to suppress stream of the molten metal into a nip between the rolls. Thus, hot molten metal just after poured into the pool does not instantly reach the nip along the side weirs, and molten metal decreases in temperature with lapse of time after the pouring streams into the nip as the rolls are rotated. As a result, belated formation of solidified shells at and adjacent to outer circumferential edges of the chilled rolls is eliminated. Thus, a strip delivered from the nip between the rolls has no reduced thickness at regions adjacent to lateral edges of the strip and has uniform thickness throughout the width of the strip.
