The major object of the invention is to provide a volume-type hologram resin composition and a surface relief-type hologram resin composition having a high effect of preventing forgery and excellent in foil cutting, as well as a hologram layer and a hologram transfer foil using thereof. To achieve the object, there is provided a volume-type hologram resin composition having at least one kind of photopolymerizable compound, a photopolymerization initiator and fine particles, wherein the fine particles show magnetic resonance.

A photosensitive composition and A photosensitive medium for volume hologram recording comprises a photopolymerization reactive compound (a monomer) and any one of the following binder: (a) an organic-inorganic hybrid polymer obtainable by copolymerizing an organometallic compound of the formula 1 'Rm M(OR)n' and an ethylenic monomer and/or its hydrolyzed polycondensate; (b) an organic-inorganic hybrid polymer obtainable by copolymerizing an organometallic compound of the formula 3 'Rm Si(OR)n' and an ethylenic monomer and/or its hydrolyzed polycondensate; and (c) a binder resin bonded to a metal or a combination use of a binder resin containing a hydroxyl group and/or carboxyl group and a metal chelate compound.

It is a main object of the present invention to provide a volume hologram layer with good foil cutting property which is used for a volume hologram transfer foil and the like. The present invention provides a volume hologram layer wherein when the layer thickness thereof is 20 &#x3bc;m, breaking strength is in a range from 10 MPa to 30 MPa and breaking strain is in a range from 0.1% to 3% at 25&#xb0; C., and breaking strength is in a range from 0.1 MPa to 1 MPa and breaking strain is in a range from 0.1% to 5% at 130&#xb0; C., to thereby solve the above problem.

Volume hologram layer and volume hologram transfer foil

The main object is to provide a volume hologram transfer foil showing an excellent foil cutting property and capable of being transferred easily to a transferred body. This object is solved by providing a volume hologram transfer foil comprising a substrate, a volume hologram layer formed on the substrate and a heat sensitive adhesive layer formed on the volume hologram layer, wherein the volume hologram layer has a breaking strain at 25&#xb0; C. in a range of 0.5% to 15% and a breaking strain at 120&#xb0; C. in a range of 0.5% to 30%, and the heat sensitive adhesive layer has a breaking strain at 25&#xb0; C. in a range of 0.5% to 15%.

The present invention provides a volume type hologram recording photosensitive composition. A type (i) composition comprises one or more photopolymerizable compounds, a heat-curable compound and a heat-curing crosslinking agent, wherein the heat-curing crosslinking agent is a latent heat-curing crosslinking agent which is not reacted in an interference exposure process, is not reacted at the heating temperature used in a refractive index-modulation promoting process and becomes active at the heating temperature used in a heat-curing process. A type (ii) composition further comprises a binder resin beside the type (i) volume type composition.

There are provided a hologram laminate and a hologram label which do not involve any problem in the production process per se of forging preventive labels using a volume hologram, can provide a reliable process of the attainment of forgery preventive effect, and can make difficult to notice the signs of the forgery preventive processing. In applying a protective filmonto a hologramthrough a second pressure-sensitive adhesive, the adhesive strength is partially varied. By virtue of this construction, upon separation of the protective film, the second pressure-sensitive adhesiveis partially left on the hologram, so that the fact of the separation can be found out.

There are provided a volume hologram laminate and a label for the preparation of a volume hologram laminate which, when kept in the pressed state, for example, during storage, is less likely to cause spotty hologram defects in the volume hologram layer. The volume hologram laminate comprises a substrate and, stacked on the substrate in the following order, a first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer , a volume hologram layer , a second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer , and a surface protective film , the volume hologram layer being such that a hologram has been recorded on a recording material comprising a matrix polymer and a photopolymerizable compound, the volume hologram layer having a glass transition point of 30 to 70&deg; C. and a dynamic storage modulus of 5&times;10 Pa to 5&times;10 Pa as measured at a measuring frequency of 6.28 rad/sec and a temperature of 50&deg; C., the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer having a dynamic storage modulus of not less than 2.5&times;10 Pa as measured at a measuring frequency of 6.28 rad/sec and a temperature of 50&deg; C. and a loss tangent (tan &dgr;) defined as dynamic loss modulus/dynamic storage modulus at 120&deg; C. of not more than 0.15.

Further, the adhesive strength of the first pressure-sensitive adhesive is larger than 1% tensile strength of the hologram . This can realize a property such that, as soon as the separation of the hologram is attempted, the hologram is elongated and undergoes a color change.
