A mower unit includes a mower deck, a plurality of blades mounted inside the mower deck and rotatable about vertical shafts supported to the mower deck, the mower deck defining, on one lateral side thereof, a discharge outlet for discharging cut grass cut by the plurality of blades, and an opening and closing member configured to be movable to a closing position for closing the discharge outlet and also to an opening position away from the discharge outlet for opening the discharge outlet, the opening and closing member at the opening position being disposed along an outer face of the mower deck.

Mower unit

A mower includes a mower deck that opens downward; a plurality of vertical shafts rotatably supported by the mower deck; a plurality of cutting blades driven by the vertical shafts inside the mower deck; a cutting chamber formed inside the mower deck and provided for each cutting blade; and an opening formed between the cutting chambers for adjacent cutting blades. The cutting blades are arranged generally in a lateral direction with an adjacent pair of cutting blades being rotatably driven in opposite directions from each other. The opening allows for flow passage of cut grass at least from one of the cutting chambers to the other cutting chamber.

A riding-type mower vehicle comprises a mower supported by a vehicle body; a grass collector configured to receive cut grass cut by the mower; a vehicle-side connector located at a rear position of the vehicle body and having a pair of inclined guide portions that face each other such that a distance between the inclined guide portions decreases toward lower portions of the inclined guide portions to open upwardly; and a collector-side connector provided to the grass collector to extend generally downwardly and having a pair of inclined guided portions whose distance from each other decreases toward lower portions of the inclined guided portions; wherein the collector-side connector is attached to the vehicle-side connector by inserting an inclined guided portion of the collector-side connector between the pair of inclined guide portions of the vehicle-side connector.

Riding-type mower vehicle

A lawn mower has driving front wheels and driving rear wheels. The mower includes a mower unit mounted between the front wheels and the rear wheels to be vertically movable, an engine mounted to a front portion of a vehicle body, a transmission case disposed rearwardly of the engine, an HST coupled to a rear wall of the transmission case, the HST having a pump shaft and a motor shaft both projecting forwardly, a charge pump for the HST attached to a front wall of the transmission case, a transmission mechanism disposed inside the transmission case. The transmission mechanism includes an input shaft operably coupling a transmission shaft from the engine to the pump shaft, a first output shaft for transmitting power from the motor shaft to a transmission shaft for the front wheels, a PTO shaft for transmitting power from the input shaft to a transmission shaft for the mower unit, and a second output shaft for transmitting power from the input shaft to the charge pump. The first and second output shafts extend in a fore-and-aft direction of the mower and parallel with the input shaft, the second output shaft being disposed upwardly of the input shaft, the first output shaft being disposed downwardly of the input shaft.

Lawn mower having HST

A four-wheel drive work vehicle includes an engine, a pair of right and left steerable wheels rotatably driven by receiving power from the engine via a differential mechanism, a pair of right and left non-steerable wheels rotatably driven by receiving power from the engine via right and left side clutches and a pivotal cam mechanism for operating a clutch operating member for controlling the side clutch based on a steered displacement of the steerable wheels. The pivotal cam mechanism includes a cam member which is displaced based on the steered displacement and a cam follower member operably associated with the cam member. The clutch operating member is displaced via the pivotal cam mechanism by a predetermined amount in response to a steering operation of the steerable wheels by an angle exceeding a predetermined angle from a straight traveling condition and in association with the displacement of the clutch operating member by the predetermined amount, one side clutch for one of the non-steerable wheels located on the inner side of the vehicle turn is automatically disengaged against an engaging urging force.

Four-wheel drive work vehicle

An engine enclosure for use on a vehicle having a cooling system for a vertical shaft type engine with a cooling air intake fan disposed above the engine. The engine enclosure comprises an upper hood for covering the engine from above, the upper hood having an upper surface and right and left side surfaces extending downward from the upper surface, a lower hood for covering lateral areas of the engine, and a cooling air intake opening formed in a position above a lower end of at least one of the right and left side surfaces of the upper hood for taking in ambient air. A partition wall member is disposed between the cooling air intake opening and the cooling air intake fan for restricting mixing of ambient air drawn by the fan and heat generating from the engine.

Engine enclosure

A grass/lawn mower vehicle having a mower unit, and mechanism for transporting grass clippings cut by the mower unit through a suitable duct. The vehicle includes a grass catcher for collecting the grass clippings transported through the duct, a lid for opening and closing an opening of the grass catcher, a horizontal axis for connecting the grass catcher and the lid to be pivotable relative to each other, and a control mechanism for raising the grass catcher relative to the vehicle and swinging the grass catcher about the horizontal axis, thereby allowing the grass catcher to dump the grass clippings from an elevated position. The control mechanism includes a parallelogram link mechanism having one side thereof connected to the vehicle, and the other side connected to the lid, and an actuator for moving the link mechanism between a lower position and an upper position, and swinging the grass catcher when the link mechanism is in the upper position.

A working vehicle with power steering, having a substantially closed accommodating space defined by an engine hood and a control panel, an engine disposed in the accommodating space and a steering shaft disposed in the control panel. A cooling fan produces cooling air flows moving toward the engine from an air intake formed in the control panel. A power steering apparatus for supplying steering assist power to the steering shaft, and a control unit for controlling the power steering apparatus, are arranged in the accommodating space to be exposed to the cooling air flows.

An engine hood construction for a work vehicle is disclosed. The engine hood is vertically separatable into a lower hood section and an upper hood section. The lower hood section is fixedly attachable to and detachable from a vehicle frame, and the upper hood section is attached to the vehicle frame to be pivotably and vertically opened and closed relative to the frame. A control panel is provided at a rear portion of the engine hood and forming a rear wall of an engine room. The control panel has a forwardly opened hook shape in a plan view. The construction further includes a connecting arrangement for fixedly connecting the lower hood section to the vehicle frame and engaging members for enabling the lower hood section to be engaged with the control panel along a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle when the connecting arrangement is not connected.

g A working vehicle according to the present invention has a vertical engine mounted in an engine room covered by a hood, cooling air being drawn from above the engine and exhausted outwardly of a vehicle body through exhaust openings formed in a front surface of the hood. The working vehicle includes a fan disposed above the engine, and dust netting disposed above the fan. The dust netting is substantially box-shaped and includes an overhang portion extending rearwardly of the engine and downwardly.

Riding mower

A mid-mount type riding lawn tractor includes tractor frames, a mower unit disposed under the tractor frames, and a connection structure for vertically movably connecting the mower unit to the tractor frames. The connection structure includes support arms extending substantially longitudinally of the tractor frames, each of the support arms being pivotally connected at one end thereof to a lower position of one of the tractor frames, and at the other end to a portion of the mower unit, interlocking links each pivotally connected at one end thereof to a position of the mower unit closer than the portion of the mower unit to the position of connection between the support arm and the tractor frame, each of the interlocking links having a free end, and seesaw arms. Each seesaw arm has an intermediate connecting portion pivotally connected to an intermediate position of one of the support arms, a first arm portion extending in one direction from the intermediate connecting portion, the first arm portion being pivotally connected at a distal end thereof to the free end of the interlocking link, and a second arm portion extending in a different direction to the first arm portion from the intermediate connecting portion, the second arm portion having a contact for contacting one of the tractor frames from below.

Mid-mount type riding lawn tractor

A riding lawn mower having a mower unit suspended from a chassis frame through a link mechanism. A driver's seat supporting auxiliary frame is provided, which includes a foot rest, a seat mount and right and left rear wheel fenders formed integral with one another. The auxiliary frame has a forward end portion thereof supported by the chassis frame to be pivotable about a cross pin, and a rear end portion supported by the chassis frame through a suspension mechanism. The cross pin is disposed adjacent a shift pedal and a brake pedal, while the suspension mechanism is disposed below the driver's seat.
