An ECU is configured to perform output restriction control if first and second conditions are satisfied when a cell temperature is more than a threshold temperature determined based on a thermal destruction temperature of a sealing member. On the other hand, the ECU is configured not to perform the output restriction control if one of the first and second conditions is not satisfied even when the cell temperature is more than the threshold temperature. The first condition is satisfied when an acceleration time period is more than a predetermined time period. The second condition is satisfied when the temperature increase ratio of the cell is more than a restriction value.

A power supply system includes a controller. The controller is configured to; a) control charging and discharging of an electrical storage device upon reception of an output of a current sensor and a voltage sensor, b) calculate a control current value by subtracting an offset value from a detected value of the current sensor, c) calculate a first determination result and a second determination result, respectively obtained by determining whether the electrical storage device is being charged or discharged based on the control current value, and based on a change in a remaining amount of charge of the electrical storage device, and d) when the first determination result and the second determination result differ from each other, change the offset value such that the first determination result coincides with the second determination result.

A battery management device for a battery that is incorporated in a vehicle includes a cooling fan configured to cool the battery and a controller configured to control the cooling fan. The controller is configured to calculate an amount of high-rate degradation damage which is an amount of degradation damage to the battery caused by high-rate charge or discharge, and is configured to restrict cooling of the battery by the cooling fan when the amount of high-rate degradation damage has reached or exceeded a predefined cooling restriction starting threshold, more strictly than when the amount of high-rate degradation damage is less than the cooling restriction starting threshold.

Management device for secondary battery

A control system for a battery includes a current sensor and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to calculate a first error and a second offset error of the current sensor respectively based on outputs of the current sensor just before a stop of the electronic control unit and at startup of the electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to correct an output of the current sensor by using a first error when a temperature of the current sensor at startup of the electronic control unit is higher than or equal to a threshold temperature, and correct the output of the current sensor by using a second error when the temperature of the current sensor at startup of the electronic control unit is lower than the threshold temperature.

In a hybrid vehicle, an ECU executes a forced charging control for forcibly charging a battery by using an engine and a vehicle driving device in a case where a remaining capacity of the battery is equal to or less than a predetermined value. In a case where an evaluation value shows a degree of deterioration of the battery attributable to excessive charging, the ECU uses a first electric power as an electric charging power for charging the battery when an absolute value of the evaluation value is equal to or lower than a first threshold, and uses a second electric power falling short of the first electric power as the electric charging power for charging the battery when the absolute value of the evaluation value is higher than the first threshold in a case where the forced charging control is executed while the hybrid vehicle is stopped.

The contact member includes: contact parts arranged discretely in contact with the pressed surface; and a connecting part connecting the contact parts. Secondary battery assembly

A control device that controls discharge of a nonaqueous secondary battery in order that discharge electric power of the nonaqueous secondary battery does not exceed an upper limit value includes a current sensor and a controller. The controller calculates an evaluation value for evaluating a first deterioration component based on a discharge state detected by using the current sensor. The first deterioration component is a component that reduces output performance of the nonaqueous secondary battery due to an imbalance of ion concentrations in an electrolytic solution caused by discharging the nonaqueous secondary battery. The controller integrates a value obtained by subtracting a correction coefficient from a first integrated value obtained by integrating the evaluation values in past, which exceed a target value, and the evaluation value at present, which exceeds the target value, to calculate a second integrated value. When the second integrated value exceeds a threshold value, the controller reduces the upper limit value.

Control device and control method for nonaqueous secondary battery

A secondary battery assembly of the present invention comprises: a secondary battery including a wound electrode body enclosed in a flat rectangular case; a contact member partly contacting a side surface having a maximum area (pressed surface) of outer surfaces of the battery; and a binding member for binding the battery and the contact member, the binding member binding the contact member to partly press against the pressed surface. The contact member includes: a plurality of contact parts arranged discretely, each contact part being in contact with the pressed surface; and a connecting part connecting the contact parts. The contact parts are protruding from the connecting part toward the pressed surface, and to press more strongly both one-side regions of the pressed surface corresponding to portions off the center of the wound body in the winding axis direction, and to press less strongly a central region between the one-side regions.

A control apparatus controlling discharge of a secondary battery such that a discharge power of the secondary battery does not exceed an upper limit value has a current sensor and a controller. The current sensor detects a current value during charge and discharge of the secondary battery. The controller calculates an evaluation value for determining a first deterioration component depending on nonuniformity of an ion concentration in an electrolyte of the secondary battery by using the detection result of the current sensor, and reduces the upper limit value when the integral value of the evaluation values exceeding a target value exceeds a threshold value. The controller estimates a second deterioration component depending on the material of the secondary battery and changes the threshold value such that deterioration due to the first deterioration component is permitted in association with the second deterioration component.
