A belted radial ply tire which comprises a bead core disposed in each bead portion, a carcass extending between the bead portions and turned up around the bead cores, and a belt comprising at least two cross plies disposed radially outside the carcass and inside the tread, and in a state that the tire is mounted on its regular rim and inflated to its regular inner pressure but loaded with no tire load, the effective belt width BW of the effective belt part BE of the belt, the belt edge camber height CH of the belt, and the tire section width TW satisfy 2.50(BW/TW)-1.25&lt;CH&lt;13.3(BW/TW)-4.65.

Radial tire with even wear at tread shoulders

The present invention provides an optimum radial tire which is suitable for each car. In the present invention, an .alpha. value is introduced as indicating the properties of the car and the tread rubber of the tire is selected according to the .alpha. value. Accordingly, the present invention provides a radial tire which comprises a tread and sidewall, wherein the tread has the claimed relation between a viscoelasticity (tan .delta.) peak temperature (Tp) and an .alpha. value which indicates the properties of a car, and a one side half width (w/2) of 25.degree. C. or less, the one side half width (W/2) being defined with respect to a viscoelasticity distribution curve as the distance along the 1/2 peak tan .delta. viscoelasticity line from the perpendicular line representing (Tp) to the intersection with the viscoelasticity distribution curve to the right of the perpendicular line.

Radial tire

This invention relates to high-speed radial tires, and more particularly to radial tires wherein the thickness ratio (Gc-Gs)/Gc, that is the ratio of the difference between the crown tread thickness Gc, which is a thickness of the tread on the equator of the tire, and the shoulder tread thickness Gs, which is a thickness of the tread of the ground contact surface at the outer edge in direction of the tire axis, to the crown tread thickness Gc is set to be 0 or more and 0.8 or less. By setting the ratio within a range of 0 to 0.8, the force Fs acting in the radial direction on the tread shoulder part, out of the total load acting to the tire, is decreased, thus, the deformation in the bead part is diminished and the permanence in the bead part can be improved. In a tire having the ratio of 0 to 0.8, by setting the angle of the belt cords to be 0 to 20 degrees, it can be used for aircraft and by setting the angle of the belt cords to be 20 to 40 degrees and the aspect ratio to be 60% or less, it can be used for high-speed passenger cars.

High speed radial tire with durable bead part

The present invention relates to a radial tire and a radial tire-rim assembly. The radial tire (1) has a pair of beads (2), each bead having a bead core (3) and a bead apex (5), a carcass (4), with both edges thereof folded back around said bead core and fastened to said bead core, a tread (6), a belt layer (7), and an aspect ratio smaller than 60%. The tread is wider (in the axial direction) than the maximum width of said carcass and the edges of said tread are positioned within a range of 50-100% of the height of the cross-section of the carcass. This structure provides the tire side with rigidity and permits the tread to deform so that is supports the weight of the car and runs safely even when the tire pressure is decreased. The radial tire-rim assembly is characterized in that the bead of the radial tire has a toe (9) extending inward (in the radial direction of the tire) and is further provided with a hump groove (10) corresponding paramently,, the rim (20 ) has an annular groove (22) and hump (23) which fit into the toe and groove, respectively. These arrangements prevent the bead from separating from the rim when the tire pressure is decreased or at a time of sharp cornering.

Radial tire which runs safe after a loss of tire pressure

The present invention relates to a radial tire and a radial tire-rim assembly. A safety tire having a carcass turned up in both edges around bead cores, a tread thereon, a belt, a pair of bead apexes, wherein, in a state that the tire is assembled on a specified rim and inflated to a specified pressure, the aspect ratio of the tire is not more than 80%, the axial width WT of the tread is greater than the maximum width WC of the carcass, each edge of the tread is positioned at a height within a range of 50 to 100% of the sectional height HC of the carcass, the carcass provided on each side of the tire equator with a convex arc part with a radius R1 and a concave arc part with a radius R2 smoothly connected each other at an inflection point therebetween, the convex arc part has the center positioned inward of the tire and is extended radially inwardly from the point of the maximum width WC of the carcass to the inflection point, the concave arc part has the center positioned outward of the tire and is extended radially inwardly from the inflection point to the vicinity of a contact point at which the carcass contacts with the bead core, and the radius R2 of the concave arc part is greater than the radius R1 of the convex arc part.

A radial tire for motorcycle, in which the steering stability at high running speed is improved and the ply separation at the breaker edges is lessened. The tire comprises: a radial carcass extending between bead portions of the tire; a tread disposed radially outside the carcass; and a breaker disposed between the carcass and the tread and having at least one ply of metallic cords coated with rubber; each metallic cord comprising a plurality of twisted strands; each strand consisting of at least three twisted filaments made of metal; the elongation of each metallic cord when loaded when 1.0 kgf/cord being in a range of 0.5 to 1.5%; the tangential modulus of elasticity of each metallic cord when loaded with 10 kgf/cord being in a range of 8,000 to 15,000 kgf.sq.mm.

Radial tire for motorcycle with improved metallic belt cord

A tire for an airplane comprises a pair of bead cores; a carcass fixed around the pair of bead cores with its ends being turned up, the carcass having cords arranged at an angle of 60.degree. to 90.degree. with respect to an equator plane of the tire; a belt layer having cords arranged outside the carcass at an angle of 0.degree. to 30.degree. with respect to the equator plane of the tire; and a band arranged above the belt layer. The band has cords which have a higher modulus of tensile elasticity than that of the cords of the belt layer. The cords of the carcass and the belt layer are made of organic fibers having a modulus of tensile elasticity not greater than 1,000 kg/mm.sup.2. The tire may include a bead apex and a reinforcement layer positioned outside of the head apex. The reinforcement layer extends from a bottom of each of the pair of bead cores to a side wall of the tire.

A radial tire for a motorcycle comprising a carcass ply and a breaker disposed radially outside thereof and comprising a first ply lying on the carcass ply and a second ply lying radially outside the first ply, wherein the carcass ply is composed of cords arranged radially at an angle of 70 to 90 degrees to the tire equator and having an elastic modulus MC of 250 to 600 kgf/sq.mm; the first ply of the breaker being composed of cords arranged at an angle of 10 to 30 degrees to the tire equator and having a elastic modulus MB1 of 450 to 1100 kgf/sq.mm; the second ply of the breaker being composed of aromatic polyamide cords arranged at an angle of 10 to 30 degrees to the tire equator and having a elastic modulus MB2 of 650 to 1600 kgf/sq.mm; the elastic modulus MB2 of the second ply cords being larger than the elastic modulus MB1 of the first ply cords; the elastic modulus MB1 of the first ply cords being larger than the elastic modulus MC of the carcass ply cords; and the difference MB2-MB 1 and the difference MB1-MC are in the range of 200 to 500 kgf/sq.mm.
