An exhaust gas controller for an engine is equipped to appropriately regenerate a filter while restraining a deterioration in fuel efficiency. An oxidation catalyst and a filter capable of collecting particles in an exhaust passage, such that a regenerative injection in which fuel is injected for regenerating the filter is performed, even when a main injection is stopped. Under a first operating condition, in which the main injection is performed and a regeneration condition for the filter is satisfied, the regenerative injection is performed after the main injection. Under a second operating condition, in which the main injection is stopped and the regeneration condition for the filter is satisfied, a fuel injector is controlled to perform a former injection Q1 during a compression stroke and latter injections Q2, Q3 during an expansion stroke, as the regenerative injection.

Exhaust gas control device, method, and computer program product for an engine

An exhaust emission control device for an engine is provided with a first purifying catalyst including an HC adsorbent that adsorbs HC at a low temperature and releases HC at a high temperature and a diesel oxidation catalyst capable of oxidizing HC, a second purifying catalyst including a NOx catalyst capable of storing NOx contained in exhaust, a NOx catalyst regenerator that regenerates the NOx catalyst while raising the temperature of the NOx catalyst, and HC controller that decides whether the amount of adsorbed HC that is HC adsorbed by the HC adsorbent is equal to or more than a preset reference amount and, when the amount of adsorbed HC is decided to be equal to or more than the reference amount, raises the temperature of the first purifying catalyst.

Exhaust emission control device, method and computer program product for an engine

An engine control device is provided, which includes an oxidation catalyst provided in an exhaust passage to oxidize unburned fuel within exhaust gas, a NOcatalyst provided integrally with or downstream of the oxidation catalyst, a PM filter provided in the exhaust passage downstream of the oxidation catalyst to capture fine particulate matter within the exhaust gas, a fuel injector, and a controller. When the particulate matter is accumulated by a given amount, the controller starts a PM filter regeneration control to remove the particulate matter, and after this control is started and when the accumulation amount decreases by a given amount, the controller starts a NOcatalyst regeneration control to switch between a first state in which an air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio or less and a second state in which the air-fuel ratio is higher than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.

A control system for an engine is provided, which includes an engine body formed with a cylinder, a NOcatalyst, an oxidation catalyst, a PM filter, a fuel injector configured to perform a main injection and a post injection, and a controller configured to execute a DeNOcontrol in which the fuel injector is controlled to perform the main and post injections so that an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas is brought close to the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio or becomes rich and fuel supplied into the cylinder by the post injection combusts therein, and a filter regenerating control in which the fuel injector is controlled to perform the main and post injections so that the air-fuel ratio becomes lean and the fuel supplied into the cylinder by the post injection causes no combustion therein, the controller executing the DeNOcontrol and the filter regenerating control consecutively in this order.

Control system for engine

A NOcatalyst is provided on an exhaust passage of an engine. The NOcatalyst reduces the occluded NOwhen an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas is in the vicinity of a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio or in a richer state than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. Turbocharging is executed by turbochargers. In a low load region within the reduction execution region, a target air-fuel ratio is achieved, as required for NOreduction, by air amount adjustment with an air amount control valve provided on an intake passage. Since a large amount of air is needed in the high load region within the reduction execution region, the target air-fuel ratio is achieved by air amount adjustment using turbocharging pressure control.

Exhaust purification device of engine

An exhaust emission control system of an engine is provided, which includes a NOcatalyst disposed in an exhaust passage for storing NOwithin exhaust gas when an air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is lean, and reducing the stored NOwhen the air-fuel ratio is approximately stoichiometric or rich. A processor executes a NOreduction controlling module for performing a NOreduction control in which a fuel injector performs a post injection to control the air-fuel ratio to a target ratio, and an EGR controlling module for controlling an EGR valve to recirculate EGR gas. In the NOreduction control, the EGR controlling module controls an opening of the EGR valve to a target opening smaller than when the NOreduction control is not performed. The NOreduction controlling module starts the control after the EGR valve opening is controlled to the target opening.

Exhaust emission control system of engine

A control device of a diesel engine is provided. The device includes an engine body having a cylinder, a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into the cylinder, a valve timing control module for changing opening and closing timings of at least an intake valve or an exhaust valve, an oxidation catalyst arranged within an exhaust passage for purifying HC discharged from the cylinder, and a DPF arranged downstream of the oxidation catalyst for capturing soot within exhaust gas. The device also includes a DPF regenerating module for supplying, when a predetermined DPF regeneration condition is satisfied, HC to the oxidation catalyst to regenerate the DPF by heat generated from an oxidation reaction of HC, and a fuel cutting module for stopping, when the diesel engine is in a deceleration state, a main injection of the fuel that is performed on a compression stroke of the cylinder.

A control device of a diesel engine with a turbocharger is provided. The device includes an engine body having a cylinder, a fuel injection valve, a turbine of the turbocharger, a bypass passage for bypassing the turbine, a bypass valve for opening and closing the bypass passage, an oxidation catalyst for purifying HC, and a DPF for capturing soot. The device includes a fuel cutting module for stopping, when the diesel engine is in a deceleration state, a main injection of the fuel performed on compression stroke, a DPF regenerating module for performing, when a predetermined DPF regeneration condition is satisfied, a post injection on expansion stroke to supply HC to the oxidation catalyst and regenerate the DPF by heat generated from an oxidation reaction of HC, and a bypass valve control module for controlling the bypass valve.

Exhaust emission control system for engine and control method therefor

There are provided a particulate filter and a manual regeneration switch. When the manual regeneration switch is operated and the vehicle is in a stop state, the engine speed is adjusted to a first target higher than a normal idle speed to regenerate the filter. Meanwhile, when the vehicle changes from its stop state to its driving state, the engine speed is adjusted to a second target higher than the normal idle speed but lower than the first target in the event that the temperature of the filter is high, while the engine speed is adjusted to the normal idle speed in the event that the temperature of the filter is low. Accordingly, deterioration of the durability of the filter due to its rapid temperature increasing can be suppressed, avoiding disadvantages of fuel efficiency and vehicle start feeling.

Thus, the cooling action of the exhaust particulate trapping meansthrough heat exchange with the exhaust gases can be kept up to suppress that the temperature of the exhaust particulate trapping meansexcessively rises on engine deceleration.
