Provided is a test method performed using a lens which comes into contact with a human body during use, the test method including the steps of: providing a membrane member including a membrane swellable upon absorbing water and a supporting base having an annular shape to support an outer periphery of the membrane; allowing cells to adhere on the membrane of the membrane member; and bringing the membrane to which the cells are adhered into close contact with the surface of the lens, by immersing the membrane member and the lens into a liquid and deforming the membrane in a swollen state along the surface of the lens.

A cell culture device comprises a first inner cylinder formed in a tubular shape, a cell culture membrane placed to cover over an entire one end of the first inner cylinder and configured to be folded down toward an outer surface of the first inner cylinder along an outer circumference at the one end of the first inner cylinder, and an outer cylinder formed in a tubular shape, configured to place the first inner cylinder inside thereof such that a height direction of the outer cylinder is identical with a height direction of the first inner cylinder, and provided with a first slit in an area overlapping with at least the one end of the first inner cylinder to be extended in the height direction, wherein the cell culture membrane is held between an inner wall surface of the outer cylinder and the outer surface of the first inner cylinder.

Cell culture device

A cell culture device comprises a cell culture membrane and a substrate fixed to the cell culture membrane. The cell culture membrane is made from a thermosetting resin and has a plurality of pores that are open to at least one surface including a surface on a side that is in contact with the substrate. The substrate is made from a thermoplastic resin. In a contact region between the cell culture membrane and the substrate, part of the substrate is extended to form bulges in the pores of the cell culture membrane that are open in the contact region. This configuration suppresses reduction of the strength of the cell culture membrane and reduction of the flatness of the cell culture membrane (membrane accuracy) in the cell culture device in which the cell culture membrane and the substrate are fixed to each other.

Cell culture device and method of manufacturing the same

A polyurethane porous membrane is produced by a simple method to be used for at least one of applications of cell culture and cancer cell growth inhibition. The production method of the polyurethane porous membrane to be used for at least one of the applications of cell culture and cancer cell growth inhibition comprises: a first step of forming a layer of a polyurethane material which is uncured, on a substrate; and a second step of supplying water vapor to an exposed surface of the layer of the polyurethane material formed on the substrate, which is away from the substrate, so as to cure the polyurethane material and provide the layer of the polyurethane material with a porous structure having a plurality of irregularities on the exposed surface.

It is to provide a method for manufacturing a hydrocarbon, with which a hydrocarbon is produced at a high yield even under the condition of an ordinary temperature and an ordinary pressure. A method for manufacturing a hydrocarbon, in which carbon dioxide is reduced to produce the hydrocarbon, the method includes a step of producing the hydrocarbon by bringing magnesium or a magnesium compound such as magnesium oxide into contact with water and the carbon dioxide and reducing the carbon dioxide. Examples of the magnesium compound include magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate, and basic magnesium carbonate.

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a hydrocarbon, the method including bringing metal Mg into contact with water and carbon dioxide and reducing the carbon dioxide. In the method, one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Group 8 elements, Group 9 elements, B, C, S, Ca, V, Mn, Ni, Ge, Zr, Nb, Pd, Ag, Sn, Pt, Au, and Ce are used as combination element(s), and the contact is effected under presence of one or more of simple substance(s) of the combination element(s), water-soluble compound(s) of the combination element(s), and ion(s) of the combination element(s).

The polylactic acid based resin molded article is a molded article formed from a polylactic acid based resin composition comprising a polylactic acid based resin (A), a polypropylene (B) having a crystallinity of 20% by weight or less and a modified ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (C1) or a modified polyolefin (C2), wherein a treatment for accelerating crystallization of the polylactic acid based resin (A) is applied thereto. In the polylactic acid based resin composition, the polypropylene (B) having a crystallinity of 20% by weight or less is blended in an amount of from 10 to 90 parts by weight based on 90 to 10 parts by weight of the polylactic acid based resin (A). In addition, the modified ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (C1) or the modified polyolefin (C2) is blended in an amount of from 1 to 20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight in total of the polylactic acid based resin (A) and the polypropylene (B) having a crystallinity of 20% by weight or less.

An object is to provide a fire retardant material capable of being molded by an injection molding machine and free from deterioration of the physical properties and a molded body formed of the fire retardant material. A fire retardant includes a degraded polypropylene resin obtained by melt kneading a polypropylene resin and an organic peroxide, wherein a weight average molecular weight of the degraded polypropylene is from 50,000 to 200,000; and an inorganic filler, wherein a mass ratio of the polypropylene to the inorganic filler is from 95/5 to 10/90.
