A recording apparatus includes a cassette or a feeding tray that is configured to mount a medium thereon, a transport unit that transports the medium mounted on the cassette or the feeding tray, and a recording head that performs recording on the medium. Furthermore, the recording apparatus includes a medium detection device and a deviation amount acquisition section. The medium detection device detects at least one of both side edges in a width direction intersecting a transport direction of the medium that is transported from the cassette or the feeding tray (step S). The deviation amount acquisition section acquires a deviation amount of the recording head in the width direction of the medium based on at least one side edge detection position detected by the medium detection device (step S).

Recording apparatus and method for suppressing deviation of recording position of recording apparatus

A recording device includes a recording unit configured to perform recording to a medium, a conveyance belt disposed facing the recording unit and configured to convey the medium, a first blade and a second blade configured to make contact with the conveyance belt and scrape out a residual of the conveyance belt, and a switching mechanism configured to switch the first blade and the second blade. When the first blade is moved to a first position where the first blade makes contact with the conveyance belt, the control unit moves the second blade to a second position where the second blade is separated from the conveyance belt, and when the second blade is moved to the first position where the second blade makes contact with the conveyance belt, the control unit moves the first blade to the second position where the first blade is separated from the conveyance belt.

Recording device

A recording device includes a recording unit configured to perform recording by discharging a droplet to a medium a conveyance belt disposed facing the recording unit and convey the medium, and a cleaning unit including a scrape unit configured to make contact with the conveyance belt and scrape off a residual at the conveyance belt. The cleaning unit includes a pressing part configured to push the scrape unit against the conveyance belt, and the scrape unit includes a sponge member configured to be pressed against the conveyance belt to scrape off the residual and a contact part of the sponge member that is brought into contact with the conveyance belt is worn.

An image reading device includes: an original-document table at which an original document is mounted; a reading unit configured to read the original document mounted at the original-document table; an opening/closing section configured to be able to open and close the original-document table; a power source configured to apply power for opening and closing to the opening/closing section; a proximity sensor configured to output a detection signal in accordance with approach of a detection target; and a control unit configured to control the power source on a basis of the detection signal from the proximity sensor.

Image reading device and recording device

A printing apparatus includes a print section configured to perform printing on a medium, a supply path configured to supply the medium toward the print section, a feeding roller configured to feed the medium along the supply path from an upstream side to a downstream side in a transport direction, a toothed roller provided on the downstream side of the feeding roller in the transport direction, a drive source configured to rotate the feeding roller and the toothed roller, and a controller configured to control driving of the drive source. The controller performs rotation control for rotating the feed roller prior to the rotation of the toothed roller with which the medium has collided. The controller performs the rotation control when the controller determines that the grammage of the medium is greater than or equal to a threshold value.

Printing apparatus

A medium transporting apparatus includes an endless conveyor belt having an outer surface to which a sheet P adheres, at least two rollers, which are a first roller and a second roller, around which the conveyor belt extends. The second roller is located downstream of the first roller in a medium transporting direction. The medium transporting apparatus also includes a backing plate that supports an inner surface of the conveyor belt at a position between the first roller and the second roller. In the medium transporting apparatus, the backing plate includes a hollow-containing portion that is formed at an upstream end of the backing plate in the medium transporting direction. The hollow-containing portion has a plurality of hollows formed therein in a width direction that intersects the medium transporting direction. The plurality of hollows are formed in a support surface that supports the conveyor belt.

A transfer control method of continuous paper includes controlling a transfer amount of the continuous paper based on a rotational amount detected by a roller feeding amount detecting unit which detects the rotational amount of a paper feed roller, when each page of the continuous paper is printed, and when the printing on each page is completed, performing a cueing process of transferring the continuous paper until a printing start position of a next page reaches the printing position. The cueing process includes transferring the continuous paper until the continuous paper reaches a reference transfer position based on the feeding amount of the tractor detected by a tractor feeding amount detecting unit for detecting a feeding amount of the tractor and after the continuous paper reaches the reference transfer position, setting the transfer amount of the continuous paper as a target feeding amount.

Transfer control method of continuous paper and printer

A printer has a tractor unit with a simple configuration that can prevent the feed holes in continuous paper from disengaging the engagement pins of the tractor unit during conveyance. The tractor unit of the printer has a pair of tractors that hold the continuous paper with tractor pins (engagement pins) engaged in sprocket holes (feed holes), a drive shaft and a support shaft that support the pair of tractors, and a frame that supports the drive shaft and support shaft. The first tractor is fixed in position to the support shaft after engaging and holding one side of the continuous paper, but the support shaft is supported on the frame movably widthwise to the printer. If the continuous paper becomes skewed, the first tractor moves with the support shaft widthwise to the printer following the skew, and the sprocket holes therefore do not disengage the tractor pins.
