A sheet housing device includes: a housing; and a sheet cassette. The sheet cassette has: a detection mechanism; and a pair of cursors. The detection mechanism includes: a detection switch; a first actuator; and a second actuator. A first cursor pushes down a pressed part of the first actuator and a connection part pushes up a connected part of the second actuator, and the second actuator swings in a first rotation direction from a first posture and the second actuator is set to a second posture in which a switch pressing part is capable of pressing a switch pressed part. The switch pressing part has: a first pressing part that is connected to a front end of a pressing arm; and a second pressing part that is disposed to protrude further toward an upstream side in the first rotation direction than the pressing arm does.

Sheet housing device and image forming device including same

A manual feed tray includes a tray body and a lift unit, and the lift unit includes a lift plate, a lift spring and a pair of cursors. The cursor includes a guide portion. When the manual feed tray is closed from a sheet feeding state of the lift plate, the guide portion comes into contact with a facing wall portion, whereby a downstream side of the lift plate in a covering direction moves downward. Thus, even if the manual feed tray is closed with the lift plate moved upward, the lift plate smoothly moves downward.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes an inner cover, an outer cover, a first pressing portion, and a restricting portion. The inner cover is opened and closed for a developer storage portion storing developer to be attached or detached. The outer cover is made of resin and provided on an outer side of the inner cover, and opened and closed in a same direction as the inner cover. The first pressing portion is provided on the outer cover and, when the outer cover is closed in a state where the inner cover is opened, comes into contact with and presses the inner cover in a closing direction. When the inner cover is closed, the restricting portion is engaged with the inner cover at a lock position located on an upstream side of a predetermined closing position of the inner cover in the closing direction, and restricts opening of the inner cover.

A paper dust collecting member removes and collects paper dust attached to a conveying roller, and is attachable along the attaching direction parallel to the axial direction of the conveying roller via an opening portion provided in a side plate of an apparatus main body. The paper dust collecting member has a removing member and a holding member. The removing member removes paper dust attached to the conveying roller. The holding member holds the removing member. The holding member includes a protrusion portion which is disposed, on its distal end portion side, along a side surface of the removing member and which protrudes in the thickness direction of the removing member beyond a contact surface of the removing member.

A lock device includes a lock cover, a restricting portion, a drive source, a biasing portion, and a pressing portion. The lock cover is opened and closed when a developer storing portion storing developer is attached or detached. The restricting portion, when the lock cover is closed, is engaged with the lock cover in such a way as to restrict the lock cover from being opened. The drive source drives the restricting portion in such a way as to release an engagement between the restricting portion and the lock cover. The biasing portion biases the restricting portion in a direction opposite to a direction in which the drive source drives the restricting portion. The pressing portion presses the lock cover in an opening direction in conjunction with an operation of the drive source to release the engagement between the restricting portion and the lock cover.

A biasing portion biases a restricting portion in a direction opposite to a direction in which a drive source drives the restricting portion. Each of a lock cover and the restricting portion includes an engaging portion that has a contact surface, and when the lock cover is closed, the contact surfaces of the lock cover and the restricting portion are engaged with each other while facing each other. The contact surfaces of the lock cover and the restricting portion are not parallel to each other in a state where the lock cover is closed, and as the lock cover is displaced in an opening direction of the lock cover when the drive source is not driving the restricting portion, one or both of the engaging portions are bent and the contact surfaces become parallel to each other.

An opening/closing detection mechanism has a multifunctional peripheral body portion, a front cover, a side cover, and an interlock mechanism. The interlock mechanism contains a switch, a plate-like portion, a bulged portion, and a rocking mechanism. The bulged portion is provided on the side cover. When the side cover is in the closed state, the bulged portion abuts on a rear region located on the side opposite to the front cover with respect to a region where a projection portion is provided of the switch. The rocking mechanism rocks the switch in the opening/closing direction of the front cover according to the opened/closed state of the side cover.

An image forming apparatus includes a front cover and a maintenance cover. The front cover has a support section, an interference section, and a projection. The support section is supported by a housing of the image forming apparatus so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis. The interference section extends rearward from an edge of the front cover. The projection is located on a contact surface that comes in or out of contact with a specific section of the maintenance cover as the front cover is closed or opened with the maintenance cover in a closed state. The specific section of the maintenance cover has a hole. The projection fits in the hole.

A method for manufacturing a one-way clutch cage allows slits of the cage to be formed with a short punching distance, wherein the slits are narrow in width and the cage is less prone to deformation. In this method for manufacturing a one-way clutch cage, after slits,have been formed, windows,are formed and then an outer annular part,is cut. Therefore, since the slits can be formed in a cylindrical member,that has not yet been subjected to the window formation process of the outer annular part cut-out process, and that is sufficiently strong, a radially diagonal punching operation can be performed to form the slits. During this radially diagonal punching operation, a boundary portion between a cylindrical portion,and an outer flange,is punched out from an inside of the cylindrical member toward an outside of the cylindrical member. Thus, the punching distance can be shortened, the punching die can be thinned in thickness and the slit width can be reduced, as compared with horizontal punching.

A method of cooling a brake fluid using a brake operating unit which comprises a first and a second flow channels connected to a cylinder of a brake element at one ends thereof comprises a step of setting the absolute value of a difference between the amount of brake fluid supplied to and that discharged from the cylinders in the first flow channel to apply and release brakes respectively equal to the absolute value of a difference between the amount of the brake fluid supplied to and that discharged from the cylinder in the second flow channel to apply and release the brakes respectively, so as to circulate the brake fluid in the cylinder using both of the first and second flow channels by repetition of applying and releasing the brakes. As a result, it is possible to provide a method of and a device for cooling a brake fluid, wherein vapor-lock can be prevented with certainty, the brake element that is a drum brake or a disc brake is improved in safety and reliability, friction materials such as brake shoes or pads are restrained from rising in temperature and a fade phenomenon is also reduced so that a stable braking operation can be obtained.

A device for cooling brake fluid in a brake operating unit which comprises first and second flow channels having respective one ends connected to a cylinder of a brake element. The brake fluid circulates in the cylinder using both of the first and second flow channels by repetition of applying and releasing the brakes. As a result, it is possible to provide a device for cooling a brake fluid, wherein vapor-lock can be presented with certainty, the brake element that is a drum brake or a disc brake is improved in safety and reliability, friction materials such as brake shoes or pads are restrained from rising in temperature and a fade phenomenon is also reduced so that a stable braking operation can be obtained.

A floating caliper-disc type brake is capable of defining a second gap between a disc and an outer pad when the same brake is released, preventing a dragging torque from being generated during the traveling of a vehicle, improving fuel consumption of the vehicle, and solving a jar generated when the outer pad is slid with respect to the disc. The floating caliper-disc type brake comprises an elastic member interposed between a support and a caliper and being gradually varied in retaining position thereof with respect the support and caliper depending on wearing amount of the outer pad, wherein when the brake is applied, the caliper is moved in the other direction while elastically deforming the elastic member within deformable amount of said elastic member, and when the brake is released, the caliper is moved in one direction by a second length which is smaller than a first length owing to elastic deformation of the elastic member so as to define a first gap between the disc and an inner pad and a second gap between the disc and the outer pad.
