A power management system includes a first administrator, a second administrator, a first estimator, a second estimator and a determiner. The first administrator manages a residual capacity of a power storage apparatus. The second administrator manages interruption information regarding a power grid. The first estimator estimates, as first power information, an amount of power that is consumed by an electric load during an interruption period. The second estimator estimates an estimation residual capacity that is the residual capacity at an end point of the interruption period, based on the first power information. The determiner determines that a condition for participating in a power trade market is met, when the estimation residual capacity exceeds a reference value.

Power management system, power management method, and computer program

The power adjustment system includes a first estimator, a second estimator, a calculator, a controller, and a determiner. The first estimator estimates power to be consumed by an electric load during an interested period. The second estimator estimates power obtainable from a power supply apparatus during the interested period. The calculator determines a profit in the interested period by calculating a difference between income and a cost. The controller selects one of a first state of supplying power from a power storage apparatus to a power grid and a second state of supplying power from the power storage apparatus to the electric load. The determiner provides an instruction to the controller so as to maximize the profit in the interested period.

Power adjustment system, power adjustment method, and computer program

A power management system includes a receiver, an estimator, an administrator and a determiner. The receiver acquires DR information that includes a reduction value and a target period for requesting a reduction of received power. The estimator estimates, as first power information, power that is consumed by an electric load during the target period. The administrator manages, as second power information, power that can be output from a power supplying apparatus including a power storage apparatus. The determiner determines that a condition for participating in a power trade market is met, when determining that the reduction value is achievable during the target period, based on the first power information and the second power information.

A first estimator estimates first power to be generated by a photovoltaic power generation apparatus during an interested period. A second estimator estimates second power to be consumed by an electric load during the interested period. A power purchasing cost calculator calculates, when there is a shortfall in the first power compared to the second power, a cost to be paid for receiving, from a power grid, power for compensating for the shortfall. A determiner compares an amount of money to be paid to a customer facility in accordance with a trading term when power is supplied from the power storage apparatus to the power grid, with the cost calculated by the power purchasing cost calculator. A controller causes the power storage apparatus to the electric load when the cost to be paid to the customer facility is equal to or less than the cost.

A metabolic energy monitoring system is provided which comprises: a wearable device having a movement sensor, a temperature sensor and a pulse wave sensor and adapted to be worn on a human body; a database to store activity state decision knowledge data including activity state decision condition data and calorie consumption calculation knowledge data including a calorie consumption calculating algorithm for each metabolic state; an activity state decision unit to determine the activity state based on a detection signal from the wearable device and activity state decision knowledge data; a metabolic state decision unit to detect an activity continuation state, and determine the metabolic state; a calorie consumption calculating unit to calculate a calorie consumption according to the metabolic state; and an output unit to output the calorie consumption.

Metabolic energy monitoring system

A safety and health information reporting system including a wearable device, a metabolic index calculating part, an activity index calculating part, a safety and health status determining part and a determination result output part. The wearable device is worn by a living body. The metabolic index calculating part calculates a metabolic index which represents energy consumption of the living body, based on a detection signal of the wearable device. The activity index calculating part calculates an activity index representing an activity amount of the living body on a daily basis. The safety and health status determining part which determines a safety and health status of the living body, based on a comparison of the metabolic index and the activity index. Safety and health information reporting system

To secure a stable radio-communication performance in a sensor node, the sensor node with a radio-communication circuit and a sensor, for transmitting data measured by the sensor through radio-communication, includes a first board BOon which an antenna ANTconnected to the radio-communication circuit is placed, a case CASEcontaining the first board BO, and a band that is attached to the case CASEso as to fix the case CASEto the skin. The disclosed method and system implement the following: estimating a predicted period of healthy life expectancy of each person who underwent health screening from health screening report data obtained through the health screening report data entry step, wherein healthy life expectancy prediction data is used that is prepared as basic data for predicting healthy life expectancy from a diversity of health screening report data. The predicted period of healthy life expectancy and related information for each person are displayed by display means or printed out by printing means.

Health management support method, system and healthy life expectancy prediction data generation method and system

A printing apparatus and an ink-discharge status detection method which perform appropriate print control by detecting discharge failure with a simple construction, without reducing the printing speed. The apparatus, to which the method is applied, performs test ink discharge from a part of nozzles of a printhead while scanning the printhead, and detects ink discharge statuses of the nozzles of the printhead by using a photosensor in an area between the home position of the printhead and a position outside of an effective printing area. In next detection, nozzles different from those used in the previous test ink discharge are used for performing test ink discharge, and discharge statuses are detected. Discharge statuses of all the nozzles are detected in forward and backward scannings or a plurality of scannings.

Printing apparatus and ink-discharge status detection method

A biochemical analyzer for automatically analyzing components of a specimen, in which a specimen rack conveying part, a specimen introducing part, and a specimen storage part are arranged, independent from one another. The specimen introducing part, the analyzing part and the specimen storage part are coupled to one another along the longitudinal direction of the specimen conveying part. The heights of these three parts measured from the floor are from 850 to 950 mm, their depths are from 750 to 800 mm and their widths are multiples of the dimension of the specimen rack. A uniform appearance is achieved by having standardized dimensions. Also a low height provides better viewing and a lighter environment.

Biochemical analyzer

A printing apparatus and a print control method which detect a defective printing element in operation failure status while reciprocate-scanning a printhead, and perform appropriate print control such as complementary printing on an unprinted portion by the defective printing element, without reducing the printing speed. An apparatus, to which the method is applied, has a photosensor to detect ink discharge statuses of a plurality of nozzles of a printhead which is provided between a home position of the printhead and the outside of an effective printing area where image printing is to be made. While the printhead is scanned, test ink discharge is performed at the position of the photosensor and the ink discharge statuses of the nozzles are detected by the photosensor A corrector analyzes the operation statuses of the nozzles of the printhead based on the results of detection in a real time manner. A CPU performs print control based on the results of analysis.

Printing apparatus and print method

The electron microscope provides sufficient leg space for an observer sitting in a chair in a working posture and allows concentrated observation and swift operation of the electron microscope without burdening the observer. An electron gun column is supported on a support structure formed in a rectangular parallelepiped. The electron gun column, a column evacuation device and a viewing chamber are mounted on the dampers on the support structure through a vibration plate. The table is mounted on the support structure through table supports provided on the top surface of the support structure. Further, the table has an opening at a location corresponding to the viewing chamber so that the table and the viewing chamber, both mounted on the support structure, are not in contact with each other. The layout of the operation panel divides the operation devices of the electron microscope into a group of devices that are frequently reached by touch and operated during observation and a group of devices that are not frequently used during observation. The former group is arranged in arc areas within reach of the operator's arms when pivoted about the elbows as the operator rests his arms naturally on the operation table. The latter group is classified according to the functions performed and is arranged in positions that are behind the arc areas of pivoting arms and are easily recognized visually.

Electron microscope

An ink jet printing apparatus for industrial use, which is provided with a comparatively large number of nozzles arranged for high duty recording, particularly an ink jet textile printing apparatus, and an ink jet printing apparatus suitably used for printing on a large-sized medium, are provided together with a method for controlling the temperature of the printing head of such high duty printing apparatuses, and various other types of printing apparatuses reliably. To the large number of heaters used for recording in a printing step, driving signals are applied to cause them to discharge ink for recording and, to the discharge heaters that are not to perform recording, secondary driving signals that do not allow ink to discharge are applied. These secondary driving signals cause the heaters not used in recording to generate heat, so as to reduce unevenness in the intensities of heat generation among the many discharge heaters of the printing head. At the same time, cooling water is supplied by a cooling device to a cooling liquid path arranged for the printing head in order to cool it.
