A slot insulator is provided and includes: an annular part; and a plurality of insulated winding parts disposed a circumference of the annular part. Each of the insulated winding parts has an insulated winding holding part and an insertion groove for housing a winding part of a tooth in a stator yoke. The insertion groove opens in one direction along a center axis of the annular plate and opens at both ends of the insertion groove in a radial direction of the annular plate.

An iron core winding is such that a winding of a given polarity is coiled in series so that the beginning of each coiling and the ending of each coiling cross on a magnetic pole that is positioned in the direction of a circumference of the iron core. When the winding of the magnetic core with the given polarity is completed, the winding direction is reversed and the remainder of the winding, which has the opposite polarity, is coiled in series so that the beginning of each coiling and the ending of each coiling cross in the reversed direction. A variable reluctance angle detector uses the iron core winding. The number of windings of the output winding is the same for each pole, and an induced voltage output of a sine wave is obtained.

Iron core winding, method of winding an iron core, and variable reluctance angle detector

A variable-reluctance resolver includes a rotor and a stator. The rotor includes axially connected first and second rotor portions. The first rotor portion has n salient poles provided about a center axis at uniform angular intervals, where n is an arbitrary integer not less than 3. The second rotor portion has (n&#x2212;1) salient poles provided about the center axis at uniform angular intervals. The stator has a plurality of magnetic poles provided on an inner circumferential surface thereof. An excitation coil and output coils for shaft angle multipliers of n&#xd7; and (n&#x2212;1)&#xd7; are provided on the magnetic poles in order to output sine and cosine outputs having a phase difference of 90 degrees therebetween. A rotational angle sensor includes the VR resolver and a calculation section for calculating a resolver signal for a shaft angle multiplier of 1&#xd7; from signals output from the VR resolver.

Variable-reluctance resolver and rotational angle sensor using same

A variable reluctance resolver has a rotor which includes a noncircular core and which is rotatably supported inside a stator with a gap therebetween. The shape of the rotor is such that the gap permeance, which is based on the gap, varies according to a sine function of the rotational angle. Each of the salient poles of the rotor has an outer periphery comprising an arc of radius r centered on a point which is offset from the center of the rotor by a prescribed offset distance. The outer periphery of each salient pole does not extend to the inner periphery of the stator.

Variable reluctance resolver

A flux compensated rotational position detector includes a rotating element having a plurality of magnetic poles extending over its entire periphery, and a fixed element having a plurality of protruding fixed-element magnetic poles with fixed-element magnetic pole teeth opposing the rotating element, and first and second compensating poles disposed on either side of the fixed-element magnetic poles, the first and second compensating poles having respective first and second magnetic pole teeth opposing the rotating element, wherein the fixed element does not form a closed magnetic path around the entire periphery of the rotating element, magnetizing windings are provided on all of the first and second compensating poles and the fixed-element magnetic poles, and sine output and cosine output windings are provided on each of the fixed element magnetic poles. Methods for operating the detector are also described.

Flux compensated rotational position detector and operating methods therefor

A multiplex resolver includes m resolver units disposed in tandem each comprising a rotor and a stator, where m is an integer not less than 2. The stator has a stator yoke, a plurality of stator magnetic poles projecting from the yoke, and excitation and output windings applied to the stator magnetic poles. The number of the stator magnetic poles corresponds to a shaft angle multiplier nX (n is an integer not less than 1) of the resolver. The rotor has n salient poles in accordance with the shaft angle multiplier nX. The respective stators of the resolver units are connected together such that the stator magnetic poles of the stator of one resolver unit do not overlap the stator magnetic poles of the stator of another resolver unit, as viewed in the axial direction.
