A control apparatus of a vehicle included a parking determination unit configured to determine whether the vehicle is about to be parked in a parking space, and a collision avoidance unit configured to be able to execute an avoidance function for avoiding collision with an object that is moving in a direction intersecting a longer direction of the vehicle. While the vehicle is about to be parked in the parking space, in a case where an angle between the longer direction of the vehicle and a longer direction of the parking space is larger than a threshold value, the collision avoidance unit inactivates the avoidance function, and in a case where the angle between the longer direction of the vehicle and the longer direction of the parking space is smaller than the threshold value, the collision avoidance unit activates the avoidance function.

A control apparatus of a vehicle executes an avoidance operation for avoiding collision with an object that is moving in a direction intersecting a longer direction of the vehicle. In a case where the vehicle is travelling on a first road, and makes a turn toward a first traffic lane of a second road intersecting the first road, the apparatus does not set a vehicle that is travelling on a second traffic lane of the second road that is farther from the vehicle than the first traffic lane, as a target for the avoidance operation, if a predetermined condition is not satisfied, or irrespective of whether or not the predetermined condition is satisfied, and sets a vehicle that is travelling on the first traffic lane, as the target, irrespective of whether or not the predetermined condition is satisfied.

A control apparatus of a vehicle includes a collision determination unit configured to determine whether there is the possibility that the vehicle will collide with an object moving in a direction intersecting a longer direction of the vehicle, a signal determination unit configured to determine whether or not a traffic light in front of the vehicle is red, and a braking control unit configured to apply braking force to the vehicle. When the vehicle is travelling toward an intersection, in a case where it is determined that there is the possibility that the vehicle will collide with the moving object, the braking control unit applies higher braking force, and in a case where it is not determined that there is such a possibility and it is determined that the traffic light is red, the braking control unit applies lower braking force.

A vehicle control device () includes a deceleration controller () that operates according to an operation of an occupant of a vehicle or on the basis of a result of detecting a state of the occupant, and performs at least control of decelerating the vehicle, and a lane change controller () that causes the vehicle to change a lane independently of a steering operation of the occupant of the vehicle, and at least a part of the control of the deceleration controller is restricted when an operation condition of the deceleration controller and an operation condition of the lane change controller are satisfied at the same time.

A vehicle control system includes a lane change intention detector that detects an intention of a lane change by an occupant of a vehicle, a recognizer that recognizes a surrounding situation of the vehicle, and a lane change controller that determines whether the lane change by the vehicle is possible based on the surrounding situation recognized by the recognizer, and changes a lane of the vehicle to another lane, independently of a steering operation of the occupant of the vehicle, based on a detection result of the lane change intention detector and the determined result, wherein the lane change controller decides a starting timing of the lane change based on whether a predetermined time has passed or the vehicle has traveled a predetermined distance after the intention of the lane change is detected by the lane change intention detector.

If road information indicates that a first curve zone at a near side and a second curve zone at a far side that curve in different directions are continuously located in a road, a steering assist unit of a steering assist device or a steering assist circuit finishes decreasing process of decreasing the steering assist amount when the subject vehicle passes through the first curve zone earlier than a case when the subject vehicle passes through the second curve zone.

A vehicle drive control device includes a drive lane detector, a drive assist unit, and a curve road steering assist unit. The drive lane detector detects a drive lane of a subject vehicle. The drive assist unit performs drive assist control to assist the subject vehicle in lane keep driving in the drive lane. The curve road steering assist unit performs steering assist for assisting the subject vehicle in turning along a curve of a curve road if the drive lane is the curve road and if the drive assist control performed by the drive assist unit is discontinued during driving on the curve road.

A steering control unit performs lane keeping control to cause a steering system to operate to reduce a distance between a width-direction center position of a lane and a position where the vehicle is traveling in the lane on the basis of a recognized state of the lane obtained by a lane recognizing unit. A road condition determining unit determines whether the road on which the vehicle is traveling is a straight road. A lane keeping responsivity setting unit sets, when it is determined by the road condition determining unit that the road on which the vehicle is traveling is a straight road, responsivity of the lane keeping control to the distance to be lower than responsivity set when it is determined that the road on which the vehicle is traveling is not a straight road.

A steering apparatus and a steering assist method are capable of being preferably used for a first curve and a second carve which are different in cornering direction and which are sequentially provided. When a vehicle travels through the first curve and the second curve, a controller in the steering apparatus shifts a steering angle control value with respect to a steering angle detection value in response to returning of a steering wheel and decrease of steering assist torque to a torque threshold value while the vehicle is running in the first curve and starts generation of the steering assist torque for the second curve before the steering angle detection value returns to a sensor median due to returning of the steering wheel.

In a vehicle travel support system or a vehicle travel support method, a control apparatus estimates a travel path of a vehicle on the basis of the present position of the vehicle and map information, acquires from a map information storage apparatus a curve radius that is of a curve included in the travel path and that is contained in the map information, performs a vehicle turning support or a deceleration support prior to entry to the curve on the basis of a start point of the curve which is detected on the basis of front images, and performs the vehicle turning support for the curve by using the curve radius contained in the map information.

Vehicle travel support system and vehicle travel support method

A vehicular engine control device provided with a control unit for performing control that automatically stops an engine installed in a vehicle when a preset stop condition is fulfilled, and a traveling information acquiring unit for acquiring travel information including vehicle speed information relating to the speed of the vehicle and steering information relating to a steering wheel. For the stop condition the vehicle speed information and steering information acquired by the traveling information acquiring unit are set including respective thresholds. The control unit switches the stop condition in accordance with changes in the vehicle speed information, the stop condition being sectioned into a plurality of regions using steering thresholds for the steering information relating to the steering handle. Automatic stop control of the engine conforming to the intentions of the driver can be implemented by the vehicular engine control device.

Control method for an electric power steering apparatus feeds back a motor current, flowing through a motor whose operation is controlled in accordance with a target motor current, so that the driving of the motor is controlled with the fed-back motor current. Peak value of the motor current is detected, and, for feedback control based on the detected peak value, the detected peak value is corrected to decrease. The thus-corrected peak value is fed back to control the motor current to conform to a target motor current value.
