An exhaust system for discharging exhaust gases through an exhaust passageway, emitted from a multi-cylinder combustion engine mounted on a motor vehicle includes a partition plate formed therein for dividing the exhaust passageway into a plurality of juxtaposed exhaust passages and having a communicating hole defined therein, and an exhaust gas sensor positioned at a location in proximity of the communicating hole for detecting a composition of the exhaust gases.

A multiple disc friction clutch comprises a clutch outer for take in power, a clutch hub for take out power, friction plates, a clutch spring pressing a pressing member to the friction plates for connecting the clutch, a spring receiving member supporting the clutch spring, and a coupling hub coupled to the spring receiving member as to be integrally movable. A spline inclined against an output axis is formed in a fitting portion between the coupling hub and a tube shaft, and moves the clutch spring in an axial direction of the tube shaft to a compressing side while relatively rotating the coupling hub against the tube shaft, in the case that an engine drive torque is equal to or more than a predetermined value, thereby increasing a pressing load.

Multi disc friction clutch and motorcycle therewith

In a vehicle exhaust apparatus constituting an exhaust passage to an exhaust muffler from a plurality of exhaust pipes connected to a multi-cylinder engine, an expansion chamber is formed along the exhaust passage and is connected to an exhaust collector portion. The expansion chamber is formed so as to expand outward from the exhaust collector portion in a substantially arc or chevron shape when viewed from a direction substantially orthogonal to an exhaust gasflow. Preferably, the expansion chamber is formed in a spherical shape and plural branched exhaust pipes are formed on the exhaust gas downstream side of the expansion chamber.

Motorcycle exhaust system

A motorcycle exhaust system includes a catalytic converter () disposed within an exhaust passage () for discharging exhaust gas (G) from a multi-cylinder combustion engine (E) and operable to purify the exhaust gas (G). An upstream end of the catalytic converter () has different regions (Sand S) communicated with upstream exhaust passage portions (and), respectively, and a downstream end of the catalytic converter () is communicated with downstream exhaust passage portions (and) in a number equal to or smaller than the number of the upstream exhaust passage portions (and). Also, the catalytic converter () has a partition wall () extending in a direction of flow of the exhaust gas (G) for allowing the exhaust gas (G) from the upstream exhaust passage portions (and) to flow through the catalytic converter () without being mixed together.
