X represents a halogen atom or the like; n represents an integer of from 0 to 4. Rand Rrepresent hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups, or the like. T represents &#x2014;C(=G)-Qor &#x2014;C(=G)-GQ, and Gto Geach represent oxygen atoms or the like. Qand Qeach represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, or the like. Yand Yeach represent a halogen atom or the like, Yand Yeach represent a hydrogen atom or the like, and Yrepresents a C2-C5 haloalkyl group.

An amide derivative represented by Formula (3), which exhibits excellent efficacy in pest control effect, is produced by allowing a compound represented by the following Formula (1) and a compound represented by Formula (2) to react with each other. In Formula (1) to Formula (3), Yand Yeach represent a halogen atom or a haloalkyl group; Rf represents a C-Cperfluoroalkyl group; and Rand Reach represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; LG represents a leaving group; T represents a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom; X, X, X, and Xeach represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or the like; and A represents a nitrogen atom, a methine group, or the like.

The invention provides a method for producing an aromatic amide carboxylic acid derivative represented by the following Formula (2), including a step of reacting an aromatic amide halide derivative represented by the following Formula (1) with carbon monoxide. In the following Formulae (1) and (2), Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; Xrepresents a fluorine atom or a cyano group; Xrepresents a halogen atom; and n represents an integer of from 0 to 3.

The compounds represented by formula (1) exhibit an excellent preventive effect as insecticides and also exhibit an excellent preventive effect when being combined with another insecticide, an acaricide, a nematocide, a fungicide, a herbicide, a plant growth regulator, or a biological pesticide.
