A vehicle lamp includes a lens formed from a resin material and a lens holding member for holding the lens formed from the resin material. The lens and the lens holding member are adapted to be joined together through laser welding. A joining annular portion is provided on the lens holding member to which an outer circumferential portion of the lens is joined. A plurality of welding portions and a plurality of stopper portions are provided on the joining annular portion. The plurality of welding portions project towards the lens and are positioned apart from each other in a circumferential direction. The plurality of stopper portions project towards the lens, are positioned apart from each other in the circumferential direction, and contact the outer circumferential portion of the lens when the lens is joined to the joining annular portion.

Vehicle lamp

A vehicle lamp fixture comprising a reflector that is made of a thermoplastic resin and is covered with a light reflecting film on its surface and a lens that is made of a thermoplastic resin and is mounted on the reflector. The reflector has a welding leg portion which projects from the circumferential edge of the reflector, and the tip end of the reflector welding leg portion is formed with an inclined surface which is inclined with respect to a direction in which the lens is brought to make a contact with the reflector when welding is performed between the reflector and the lens.

An apparatus of welding a plurality of parts comprises a plural pairs of jigs, a plurality of heating plates, a working region, a heating-plate stocker, a heating-plate standby region, and a heating-plate slider. The pairs of jigs supports a plurality of parts, and each pair of the jigs has a shape different from another pair of jigs. The heating plates respectively correspond to each pair of the jigs. The working region is for welding the parts with the jigs and the heating plates. The heating-plate stocker stocks and heats the heating plates. The heating-plate standby region is for standing by for moving the heating plates with heating between the working region and the heating-plate stocker. A heating-plate slider is for sliding the heating plates between the heating-plate standby region and the heating-plate stocker.

To prevent the temperature from rising locally in a closed space so as to make the temperature in an annealing furnace uniform, an apparatus and method for annealing welded parts includes an annealing furnace,which is substantially closed; a doorway,through which welded parts,are placed into and out of the annealing furnace; a carriage mechanism,for carrying welded parts on a predetermined course in the annealing furnace; infrared lamps,for heating welded parts carried in the annealing furnace; and a circulating mechanism,for circulating hot air in the annealing furnace. Thus, the annealing (distortion-eliminating) efficiency of the welded parts is improved.

A method for producing an asymmetric biaryl derivative which comprises dehalogenocoupling halogenated benzene derivatives, wherein a bromobenzene derivative of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxy group, which is attached at the 3- or 4-position, and a 2-chlorobenzene derivative of the formula: ##STR2## wherein R' is a cyano group or an alkoxycarbonyl group, are reacted in pyridine in the presence of triphenylphosphine, an anhydrous nickel compound and a reducing metal to obtain an asymmetric biaryl derivative of the formula: ##STR3## wherein R and R' are as defined above, and R is attached at the 3- or 4-position.
