A transmission includes an oil pipe disposed above a first gear group and a second gear group, the oil pipe having small holes. The oil pipe is formed integrally with a first restricting portion and a second restricting portion, the first restricting portion abutting against an inner surface of a first unit inside a case to thereby restrict an axial position of the oil pipe on an outside in one direction, and the second restricting portion abutting against an inner surface of a second unit to thereby restrict an axial position of the oil pipe on an outside in an other direction and rotation thereof.

Transmission

To provide a saddle type vehicle with a water cooled engine allowing simplification of the mounting structure for a thermostat and a check valve. A saddle type vehicle having a water cooled engine, includes: a thermostat provided in a cooling water path of the water cooled engine; and a check valve provided in a secondary air path supplying secondary air to an exhaust path of the water cooled engine, wherein a case of the thermostat and a case of the check valve are formed integrally. The case of the thermostat is formed in a cylindrical configuration, and the case of the check valve is integrally connected to the cylindrical side wall thereof.

To provide an engine side cover structure of a saddle type vehicle that can also cover the back side of a crankcase. An engine side cover structure of a saddle type vehicle includes a vehicle body frame arranged between a front wheel and a rear wheel; an engine including a crankcase, and a cylinder extending upward from the crankcase, the engine being supported by the vehicle body frame; and a side cover covering a side of the crankcase; where the side cover includes a cover main body that covers the side of the crankcase, and an extended portion that extends backward from the cover main body; and the cover main body is fixed to the crankcase, and the extended portion is fixed to the vehicle body frame.

Engine side cover structure of saddle type vehicle

Provided is a saddle-ride type vehicle that can improve the cooling ability when a radiator fan is provided only on one radiator of right and left radiators. A saddle-ride type vehicle has a water-cooled engine, right and left radiators supported by a body frame, and a cooling water passage that connects the right and left radiators and the water-cooled engine. A radiator fan is provided only on one radiator of the right and left radiators. One cooling water passage that connects the one radiator and the water-cooled engine has a larger diameter than the other cooling water passage that connects the other radiator and the water-cooled engine. The one radiator is larger than the other radiator.

Saddle-ride type vehicle

An internal combustion engine for a small planing boat for reducing the lateral width of an oil pan in conformity to the configuration of the bottom while securing the filtering surface area of an oil strainer. In addition, a vertical width of the oil pan is maintained to be small to thereby lower the total height of the internal combustion engine. In an internal combustion engine for a small planing boat, an oil pan is provided at the bottom portion of the internal combustion engine with an oil passage for communicating with an oil pump being formed inside the oil pan. A vertical wall of the oil passage is partially cut away to form communication openings each communicating between the inside and outside of the oil passage with the oil strainers being interposed in the communication openings substantially vertically to divide the oil passage into inside and outside.

Internal combustion engine for small planing boat

A transmission mechanism obtains reduced cost by facilitating a process for guide grooves formed on an inner cylinder of a ball spline mechanism and regulates a movement of a drive sprocket in an axial direction by means of a simple structure. A one-way clutch transmits torque only when a crankshaft rotates positively to a drive sprocket through a ball spline mechanism. A clutch outer body and an inner slide member of the ball spline mechanism are composed of members separate from and coupled to each other by coupling pins to be integrally rotatable in an overlapping portions in an axial direction. Guide grooves for housing balls of the ball spline mechanism are formed on the inner slide member while opening to the axial direction at both ends thereof in the axial direction. The overlapping portion of the clutch is overlapping on the guide grooves in the axial direction, and restricts an outer slide member of the ball spline mechanism from moving in the axial direction beyond a predetermined range of movement with respect to the inner slide member of the ball spline mechanism.

Bicycle transmission apparatus including a one-way clutch and a slide mechanism, and bicycle incorporating same

A gear-shifting apparatus is provided which does not require a position of a chain to be set with high precision, and which reduces a risk of the chain coming off an adjacent sprocket due to a quick gear shifting operation. The gear shifting system includes a derailer for changing the chain from one sprocket to another among a plurality of axially-arranged gear shifting sprockets, and a case for containing the gear shifting sprockets and the chain. The case is provided with a protruding part for preventing the chain from moving axially outwardly at an area too close to the case. The protruding part effectively prevents the chain from coming off from the adjacent sprocket by means of contact of the protruding part with the chain.

Gear-shifting apparatus, and bicycle incorporating same

A transmission includes a ball spline mechanism having an outer member which can rotate integrally with an inner member by means of balls housed in guide grooves and which can move in the axial direction; and a derailer which shifts a chain wrapped around a first sprocket moving integrally with the outer member from one transmission sprocket to another among a plurality of operating sprockets. The inner member and the outer member include guide surfaces through which the outer member is guided to move in the axial direction through the balls. The outer member is provided with a dust cover for covering the guide surfaces, regardless of the axial position of the first sprocket.
