An air-bag apparatus includes: a frame member that is tiltable along a seat back of a vehicle seat; and a bag body that is embedded in the frame member, that is inflated and expanded to a front of an occupant seated on the vehicle seat at a time of an impact input, and that prevents a body of the occupant from being separated from the seat back.

Air-bag apparatus

In a side airbag device, a base member in which an airbag and an inflator are accommodated is fixed to a vehicle body. An outer covering member covers at least a front side of the base member to form a front-facing interior surface. The base member comprises: an inner portion located laterally farther inward within the vehicle body relative to the airbag; an outer portion located laterally farther outward within the vehicle body relative to the airbag; a rear portion located farther rearward relative to the airbag with respect to a front-rear direction of the seat, the rear portion connecting the inner portion and the outer portion; and a bridging portion made of a metal rod, and located apart from and farther frontward relative to the rear portion, the bridging portion connecting the inner portion and the outer portion.

Side airbag device

An airbag includes: a first inflatable section that is inflated and deployed forward from the upper portion of a seat back through the left side of a head of an occupant; a second inflatable section that is inflated and deployed forward from the upper portion of the seat back through the right side of the head of the occupant; and a third inflatable section that is continuous with lower portions of front portions of the first inflatable section and the second inflatable section and that is inflated and deployed in front of the chest of the occupant. The front portions of the first and second inflatable sections extend in directions intersecting the vehicle front-rear direction so as to be closer to each other toward the front side. The front portions meet each other at a front end of the airbag.

Airbag and occupant restraint device

An airbag system includes a front airbag device that is provided in front of an occupant and that includes a front bag body configured to be deployed by being inflated by a gas being supplied during input of an impact, a door-side guide device that is provided on a door, and that includes a door-side guide member which displaces laterally toward the occupant from an inner side surface of the door during input of the impact and which is configured to guide the occupant toward the front bag body in front, and a console-side guide device provided on a console, and that includes a console-side guide member which displaces upward from an upper surface of the console during input of the impact and which is configured to guide the occupant toward the front bag body in front.

Airbag system

An air-bag apparatus includes: a bag body that is provided on a vehicle seat and that is inflated and expanded at a time of an impact input and prevents at least an upper part of a body of an occupant seated on the vehicle seat from being separated from a seat back of the vehicle seat; an inflator that supplies a gas to the bag body at a time of an impact input; a body size detection part that detects a body size of the occupant seated on the vehicle seat; and an expansion degree adjustment part that adjusts a degree of an inflation expansion of the bag body in accordance with the body size of the occupant detected by the body size detection part.

An airbag system includes a main airbag device provided in front of an occupant and having a first bag body deployed by being inflated by a gas being supplied during input of an impact, a seat airbag device provided in a seat back of a vehicle seat and having a second bag body deployed by being inflated in an area including a front of a torso of the occupant at behind the first bag body by a gas being supplied during input of an impact, and a screen airbag device having a third bag body deployed by being inflated in an area including behind the first bag body and above the second bag body.

An air-bag apparatus includes an inflator that generates a gas at a time of an impact input; and a bag body that is inflated and expanded from a seat back of a vehicle seat upon supply of the gas from the inflator, wherein the bag body includes a pair of front extension parts each of which extends in a vehicle frontward direction from each of both sides in a width direction of the seat back, and a front bag that is provided continuously to the front extension part, that is expanded to a vehicle frontward side of an occupant seated on the vehicle seat, and that comes into contact with an upper part of a body of the occupant.

Air-bag apparatus and air-bag system

An airbag system includes a main airbag device that is provided in front of an occupant and that includes a first bag body, a seat airbag device that is provided in the vehicle seat and that includes a second bag body which is configured to be deployed by being inflated toward at least sides and a front of a torso of the occupant at behind the first bag body and which is configured to restrict the occupant to the vehicle seat, and a seat displacement mechanism that is configured to release restriction by a lock section that restricts movement of the vehicle seat and that is configured to displace the occupant toward the first bag body in front in a case an input impact is equal to or larger than a predetermined strength.

The vehicle collision decision apparatus has first acceleration detectors and a second acceleration detector for detecting an acceleration of the vehicle in a longitudinal direction, and third acceleration detectors for detecting an acceleration of the vehicle in a transverse direction thereof. When the vehicle is involved in an offset collision, the front airbags of the vehicle are activated based on accelerations detected by the first acceleration detectors and the second acceleration detector. Thereafter, the curtain airbags of the vehicle are reliably activated.

Vehicle collision decision apparatus

An air bag device includes an inflater having a retainer retained thereon and being inserted into a folded air bag through a slit defined in the air bag and then, a protector sheet is wound around an outer periphery of the folded air bag. The air bag device is secured by a bolt inserted through the superposed retainer, air bag and protector sheet and fastened by a nut. The slit in the air bag is covered with the protector sheet and closed thereby, whereby the slit can be closed without provision of a special closing member to prevent leakage of a high-pressure gas from the inflater.

Air bag device

A holder for mounting an air bag module, the holder including a bottomed, substantially box-like body having a peripheral wall and an opening, the holder adapted to be fastened to a side plate of a seat back frame in a cavity of a back pad with the opening thereof facing a body of an automotive vehicle and with a bottom plate section thereof being applied to the side plate, and wrapped at the peripheral wall thereof by margin pieces which are provided around an opening portion in a side of a seat cover, rolled in the holder from the opening of the holder, and fastened to the holder, the air bag module having an air bag housed within an air bag case, the air bag module adapted to be incorporated in the holder and fastened to the side plate through the holder, whereby the air bag module is installed in the side of the seat back, the holder further including flanges, and at least first and second brittle sections serving as breaking portions, the peripheral wall including a front side wall section facing a front side of the seat back, a rear side wall section facing a rear side of the seat back, an upper side wall section, and a lower side wall section, the flanges projecting outwardly from edges of the front, rear, upper and lower side wall sections, at least a flange portion of the front side wall section having a thin metal plate embedded in an inner surface thereof, whereby the flange is reinforced by the metal plate, the first brittle section provided at a corner between the front side wall section and the upper wall section, and at a corner between the flange of the front side wall section and a flange of the upper wall section, and the second brittle section provided at a corner between the front side wall section and the lower wall section, and at a corner between the flange of the front side wall section and a flange of the lower wall section.

Holder for mounting an air bag module

A two-wheeled vehicle having a front end portion of a rear suspension attached to an upper part of a body frame. A reduction in weight and cost of the body frame is attained while permitting a fuel tank and a seat to be set at respective optimum heights without changing their shapes and sizes. In the body frame, a pair of right and left main frames are extended backwards and downwards from a head pipe, expanded portions are formed locally upward from straight portions of the main frames as seen from the side, and a cross member is mounted between the expanded portions. A front end portion of a rear suspension is attached to a vertical center of a rear side of the cross member and the rear suspension is extended substantially in parallel with the straight portions.

Body frame structure of a two-wheeled motor vehicle

A main stand structure including a pivot tube mounted on an engine by a pivot shaft and left and right legs. The left leg extends from a first point that is spaced a predetermined distance to the left from a vehicle body center on the pivot tube, and the right leg has an upper end joined to a portion of the left leg. A reinforcement member extends from a portion of the right leg substantially parallel to the left leg, and has an end joined to the pivot tube at a second point which is in substantially symmetrical relationship to the first point with respect to the vehicle body center. The reinforcement member and the right leg jointly make up a V-shaped portion which allows exhaust pipes to extend.

Main stand structure for motorcycles

To attach right and left arms of a rear fork reliably to a pivot portion and right and left pivot supports without undue attachment loads imposed thereon. A motorcycle having a rear fork attachment structure includes an engine disposed substantially centrally in a vehicle body, right and left arms of a rear fork extending over right and left sides of a pivot portion of the engine, right and left pivot supports depending from a vehicle body frame extend over right and left sides of the right and left arms, and the left pivot support, the left arm, the pivot portion, the right arm, and the right pivot support coupled together by a single pivot shaft. Furthermore, the right and left pivot supports have adjustment bolts having respective pivot shaft insertion holes, and the adjustment bolts adjust distances between the right and left arms and the right and left pivot supports.

Rear fork attachment structure for motorcycle

A motorcycle engine having a cooling device is constructed as an OHC type multi-cylinder engine arranged on a vehicle frame with a plurality of cylinders being aligned perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the body frame, wherein a radiator provided with a forced cooling fan and a carburetor leading to engine intake ports are disposed forwardly and rearwardly of the engine, respectively, a timing transmission device for driving a valve-actuating cam shaft of the engine is arranged so as to deviate to one side from the center of the cylinder block in the alignment direction of said cylinders, the timing transmission device and the radiator fan being arranged side-by-side in the longitudinal direction of the frame, a plurality of bearing holders are provided separately on the engine cylinder head correspondingly to the cylinders to rotatably support a valve-actuating cam shaft extending in the alignment direction of the cylinders, and a head cover covering the cylinder head provides wind guiding passages of a concave cross section extending in the longitudinal direction of the frame through between the adjacent bearing holders, outlets of the wind guiding passages being oppossed to the carburetor.
