A projection image display device capable of operating only predetermined one among a plurality of projection image displays. An AND gate performs switching between first and second states, the first state being for transmitting a remote control signal received by an IR receiving section to a control unit according to an output of a switch circuit , and the second state being for transmitting no remote control signals received by the IR receiving section to the control unit . The switch circuit may be switched manually or by means of a signal from the control unit

A display device includes a display unit of a dot-matrix type, each pixel of which has view-angle-dependent characteristics. The display device further includes a correction circuit which corrects the view-angle-dependent characteristics by changing a voltage of a video signal with respect to every at least one horizontal scan period.

Correction of view-angle-dependent characteristics for display device

A display device includes a display panel having display pixels arranged in matrix formation. A first driver circuit sequentially supplies image data to vertical lines of the display panel in synchronism with a first clock signal. A second driver circuit sequentially drives horizontal lines in synchronism with a second clock signal. A control circuit controls a drive timing at which the second driver circuit sequentially drives the horizontal lines so that identical image data equal to one horizontal line is supplied, from the first driver circuit in synchronism with the first clock signal, to two consecutive horizontal lines every N horizontal lines (N is an integer) in accordance with an enlargement ratio at which an image is enlarged in a vertical direction and is displayed on the display panel.

A digital data line driver includes a data input circuit for fetching data in response to an external clock, a reference voltage supply circuit having reference voltages corresponding to a plurality of gray-scale levels, a selector circuit for selecting a specified reference voltage representing the data from among those of the reference power supply circuit, and an output circuit for outputting the reference voltage selected by the selector circuit as display data onto data lines. The data input circuit and output circuit have a data-crossing function for switching data between adjoining channels of the data lines according to an external data switching control signal. Owing to this configuration, deterioration of liquid crystal can be prevented and a better display can be attained with suppressed flickers. At the same time, the picture-frame space can be reduced.
