The image processing device includes: a control unit configured to detect a series of positions of a catheter inserted into the biological tissue from data obtained in time series by a sensor observing the surrounding of a lumen of the biological tissue while moving in the lumen, and to switch a display mode between a first mode for displaying a first figure representing the series of positions in the three-dimensional image, and a second mode for displaying a second figure representing one position among the series of positions in the three-dimensional image.

A reference value is set for recording quantity of information, and a plurality of compression factors is provided for compressing information to be recorded. The compression factors are arranged in order. The information is sequentially recorded on a first memory at a first compression factor of the arrangement of the compression factors. It is determined whether the recording quantity of a first information group reaches the reference value. The first information group is compressed at a larger second compression factor when the recording quantities reaches the reference value, and the compressed first information group is recorded on the first memory at a first area. A second information group following the first information group is compressed at the second compression factor, and the compressed second information group is recorded on the first memory at a second area next to the first area. It is determined whether the sum of the recorded first and second information groups reaches the reference value. The recorded first and second information group are compressed at a further larger third compression factor. The compression of the information groups at succeeding compression factors and recording of the compressed information groups are repeated until end of the information to be recorded.

In addition, it is also ensured to fabricate an optical pick-up apparatus in a smaller size.

A hollow metal member which holds a mirror of an optical resonator in a gas laser tube is electrically and mechanically connected with a hollow cathode by a spring. The spring is positioned either outside or on the inner surface of the hollow metal member and elastically forces one end of the cathode against the inner wall of the hollow metal member.

A frequency converter has first, second and third terminals which receive a first signal having a first frequency band, a local oscillation signal, and a second signal having a second frequency band. The first signal and the local oscillation signal are mixed to generate the second signal. A first branching circuit is connected between the second terminal and the frequency mixer, for branching part of the local oscillation signal. A first part of the branched local oscillation signal, which is supplied from the first branching circuit, and a first leaked local oscillation signal are applied from the frequency mixer to the first terminal. The phase and amplitude of the first branched local oscillation signal are adjusted so that the first branched local oscillation signal and the first leaked local oscillation signal have equal amplitude and are reversed in phase to cancel each other.
