A lens barrel includes an outer cylinder having a guide section and an inner cylinder for holding a lens and having a guided section, which is engaged with the guide section and moved in an optical axis direction in response to a rotation of the outer cylinder. The guide section has a guiding portion for introducing the inner cylinder into an operating and storing positions, and the guiding portion has a first guiding part, a second guiding part formed continuously to the first guiding part, having a lead angle different from that of the first guiding part, and a third guiding part formed continuously to the second guiding part, having a lead angle smaller than that of the second guiding part. The inner cylinder is positioned, at the storing position, within an area in which the guided section is engaged with the third guiding part.

An image pick-up apparatus includes: an image pick-up device for picking up an object image by converting the object image to an electric image signal; an image pick-up optical system having a variable aperture capable of changing an aperture value when an incident light beam on the image pick-up device is stopped down; a range-finder for measuring a distance to an object; an electronic flash mechanism for illuminating the object; and controller for determining an aperture value from the distance to the object measured by the range-finder and from a light emission capability of the electronic flash mechanism, and then for setting the variable aperture to the determined aperture value, when the controller makes the electronic flash mechanism to emit light so that the image pick-up device picks up the object image.

An automatic patrone loading camera includes a patrone chamber, a rotating shaft, a detector, and a control section. The patrone chamber houses a patrone. A film is inserted in the patrone in the winding shaft direction while the film is wound around the outer surface of the patrone. When the patrone is housed in the patrone chamber, the rotating shaft is engaged with a winding shaft of the patrone so as to rotate the winding shaft. The detector detects an extracted state of a leader portion of the film. The control section controls a rotating direction of the rotating shaft on the basis of a detection value from the detector.

Disclosed is a photographic film-feeding apparatus for positioning picture frames of a film to an exposure position in a camera, wherein there is provided a feeding mechanism which is controlled so as to wind or rewind the film by two frames in response to every picture-taking operation. When starting the rewinding process, the feeding mechanism is further controlled so that the film is rewound so as to position a picture frame being adjacent to the latest exposed frame in the winding process to the exposure position and thereafter the film is rewound by two frames.
