The estimation unit is configured to perform estimation processing of estimating, based on person information indicating conditions of a person who is on board a moving vehicle, whether or not the person is in circumstances that would cause travel sickness for him or her. A switch system includes a bidirectional switch, a first gate driver circuit, a second gate driver circuit, a control unit, a first decision unit, and a second decision unit. The bidirectional switch includes a first source, a second source, a first gate, and a second gate. The first decision unit determines, based on a voltage at the first gate and a first threshold voltage, a state of the first gate in a first period in which a signal to turn OFF the first gate is output from the control unit to the first gate driver circuit. The second decision unit determines, based on a voltage at the second gate and a second threshold voltage, a state of the second gate in a second period in which a signal to turn OFF the second gate is output from the control unit to the second gate driver circuit.

Switch system

A power converter according to the present disclosure includes a cooling plate and a plurality of circuit elements. The cooling plate includes a first cooling surface and a second cooling surface on an opposite side from the first cooling surface. The cooling plate is provided with a through hole passing through between the first and second cooling surfaces. The circuit elements convert AC power supplied from an external power source into DC power of a certain voltage and output the DC power. The circuit elements at least include first and second circuit elements. The first circuit element includes a first terminal and is thermally connected to the first cooling surface. The second circuit element includes a second terminal electrically connected to the first terminal and inserted into the through hole, and is thermally connected to the second cooling surface.

Power converter and moving body

A switching circuit includes: a drive power supply; a first transistor and a second transistor; a drive signal source; and a drive circuit. Each of the first transistor and the second transistor includes: a drain electrode and a source electrode in which a main current flows when a corresponding one of the first transistor and the second transistor is ON; a first source terminal for passing the main current; and a second source terminal. Here, the first source terminal is connected to the source electrode at an impedance lower than an impedance of the second source terminal.

Switching circuit

A system and method determines a noise free image of a scene located behind a wall. A transmit antenna emits a radar pulse from different locations in front of the wall, wherein the radar pulses propagate through the wall and are reflected by the scene as echoes. A set of stationary receive antennas acquire the echoes corresponding to each pulse transmitted from each different location. A radar imaging subsystem connected to the transmit antenna and the set of receive antennas determines a noisy image of the scene for each location of the transmit antenna. A total variation denoiser denoises each noisy image to produce a corresponding denoised image. A combiner combines incoherently the denoised images to produce the noise free image.

System and method for through-the-wall-radar-imaging using total-variation denoising

A semiconductor apparatus includes a substrate; a nitride semiconductor layer formed on the substrate; a transistor formed on the nitride semiconductor layer, and including a source electrode, a gate electrode, and a drain electrode disposed in this order; and a diode formed on the nitride semiconductor layer, and including an anode electrode and a cathode electrode disposed in this order. The semiconductor apparatus has a transistor/diode pair in which the source electrode, the gate electrode, the drain electrode, the anode electrode, and the cathode electrode are sequentially disposed in this order, and the drain electrode of the transistor and the anode electrode of the diode are connected by a drain/anode common electrode wiring and serve as a common electrode.

Semiconductor apparatus

An engine start device includes a generator, a battery charged by the generator, a starter, an electric double layer capacitor and a DC/DC converter. The electric double layer capacitor is connected between the starter and the battery. The DC/DC converter has an input terminal connected to the battery and the electric double layer capacitor. The DC/DC converter has an output terminal connected to the starter and the electric double layer capacitor. According to voltage of the battery, internal DC resistance of the battery or internal DC resistance of the electric double layer capacitor, the DC/DC converter effects control of charge voltage of the electric double layer capacitor so as to stabilize voltage applied to a starter motor and stabilize the engine start.

Engine start device

In a bidirectional power supply device, a DC-DC converter is connected such that the longer an ON time of the first switch becomes, the higher a voltage of a second positive terminal and a second negative terminal becomes. When stopping the supply of power from a first positive terminal and a first negative terminal to a second positive terminal and a second negative terminal, a control circuit turns OFF a third switch, and then operates a switching signal generation circuit so that the ON time of the first switch becomes a maximum. The switching signal generation circuit is operated so that the ON time of the first switch becomes a maximum with the third switch turned OFF in start-up when supplying power from the second positive terminal and the second negative terminal to the first positive terminal and the first negative terminal.

Bidirectional power supply device

The power supply unit has a sample-and-hold circuit that samples a voltage supplied from a power source to a load according to a sample timing signal and holds the voltage as an output set value for the DC/DC converter. The unit supplies a load with an output from the DC/DC converter controlled so that an output voltage of a power source becomes an output set value of the DC/DC converter when the voltage of the power source drops. Since a voltage corresponding to the voltage of the power source before the voltage drop is set to the output set value of the DC/DC converter, a stable power supply unit is obtained in which the difference is always small between the voltage of the power source in normal times and the output voltage from the DC/DC converter when the voltage of the power source temporarily fluctuates.

Power supply unit

A power supply device of the present invention includes a switching element and a switch that operate so that when a primary DC voltage source of the device is in a voltage drop state, the power of a secondary auxiliary voltage source thereof is mixed with the power of the DC voltage source in a balanced manner and supplied to a load. This structure can reduce the maxim amount of power storage necessary for the auxiliary voltage source and thus the number of power storage elements necessary for the auxiliary voltage source. Thus, a smaller power supply device can be provided.

Power supply device

A limit value of an output current of power converter is defined as a first current value when a voltage at both ends of capacitor is higher than a voltage at both ends of battery, and a limit value of the output current thereof is defined as a second current value when the voltages are substantially equal to each other, the first current value is set to be smaller than the second current value. Thus, when a voltage at both ends of capacitor and a voltage at both ends of battery are substantially equal, heat is hardly generated. The limit value of the output current is set to a maximum current consumed by load. When a voltage at both ends of capacitor is higher than a voltage at both ends of battery, the limit value of the output current is set to be smaller than the second current value, and thereby heat generation is suppressed. Thus, the size of the heat dissipating components can be reduced, and a power supply system whose entire size can be minimized can be provided.

Power supply system

A miniature solid electrolytic capacitor is provided, which is suitable for being disposed within an electrically insulating layer, and is connected to other component using an electrically conductive adhesive with a connection resistance at an anode low and with connection reliability improved.
