There is provided an audio amplifier, including: an AV signal acquisition unit that acquires an AV signal; a television connection unit to which a television receiver is connected; a first audio amplifying circuit to which a speaker is connected; and a control unit. The control unit transmits to the television receiver a command to shut off power for a second audio amplifying circuit of the television receiver when outputting the video signal of the AV signal acquired by the AV signal acquisition unit from the television connection unit toward the television receiver and when inputting the audio signal of the AV signal to the first audio amplifying circuit. The control unit shuts off power for the first audio amplifying circuit when outputting the video signal and the audio signal of the AV signal from the television connection unit toward the television receiver.

A video data on the main part of a movie, which is long-time video data, is supplied from a DVD () that is a disc medium. Plural sets of video data on trailers and commercials of a relatively short playing time are supplied from a distribution center () via a subscriber telephone line () or the like. A video playback control apparatus () selects trailers and commercials in accordance with information on the distributor of the movie, the star actor/actress, the genre, etc., and conditions of the day of week, the time zone, etc., in which the movie is to be played back, and prepares a play schedule while combining the selected trailers and commercials. The whole movie including the selected trailers and commercials are played in accordance with the schedule.

Musical sound signal is input to an electronic volume control unit, which in turn adjusts the gain of the input musical signal and outputs the resultant gain-adjusted signal to an amplifier. CPU supplies the electronic volume control unit with a sound volume setting level corresponding to an output of a rotary encoder. At the same time, the CPU generates, with reference to stored data of a ROM table, a hue control signal for changing a displaying hue of a three-color light-emitting diode in accordance with the sound volume setting level supplied by the CPU. The CPU takes in a current sound volume setting level when an upper-limit setting switch is activated, and it retains the taken-in level as an upper limit value of various sound volume setting levels that are to be used to change the displaying hue of the light-emitting diode between purple and red hues. As the sound volume setting level is changed from zero to the upper limit value, the displaying hue changes in a stepwise manner.

A drive-in interactive performance system including a parking space in which at least a car can be parked and an interactive performance apparatus associated with the parking space and operable from within the car. The drive-in interactive performance system allows a user in the car to enjoy a variety of interactive performances, such as, for example, a karaoke performance, an interactive game and the like. For example, in a karaoke interactive system, the user operates a command device in the car to select a karaoke song and send a karaoke request signal for the karaoke song to the karaoke apparatus. A wireless microphone picks up the voice of the user who is sitting and singing in the car and sends a voice signal of the user's voice to the karaoke apparatus. The karaoke apparatus generates a karaoke performance signal based on the karaoke request signal and the voice signal and also generates an image signal for an image associated with the selected song. A projector device is installed adjacent the parking space for projecting the image onto a projector screen installed in front of the car. The karaoke performance signal is transmitted to a car radio system of the car so that karaoke performance is performed in the car.

Drive-in interactive system

A karaoke apparatus provides audio and video to support live karaoke play based on karaoke data. In the karaoke apparatus, a first sound device operates according to the karaoke data for generating a musical sound as a part of the audio so as to accompany the live karaoke play. A display device operates according to the karaoke data for displaying a background scene as a part of the video in matching with the musical sound so as to enhance the live karaoke play. A second sound device operates according to the karaoke data for generating an effect sound as another part of the audio so as to create an acoustic impression specific to the displayed background scene to thereby further enhance the live karaoke play.

An improved rotary actuator having a reduced height is disclosed. The actuator has a stator core having excitable poles and yokes, a rotor with a rotor magnet, a bobbin frame having a rotor container and bobbin portions with excitable coils. The rotor container has a bore for receiving the rotor and magnet openings for receiving a pair of stator magnets. Each bobbin portion has a slot for receiving the excitable pole. The yokes are placed at the both sides of the bobbin. The rotor container has magnetic pole slots extending in an axial direction of the rotary magnet, each of which is open to the bore and communicates with the associated pole receiving slot of the bobbin portion. Magnetic pole pieces are mounted in the magnetic pole slots. Each magnetic pole piece has a surface facing the rotor magnet and another surface magnetically connected to the stator core.
