There is provided a near-infrared cut filter which has a visible light transmitting property and a near-infrared shielding property both at high levels by that its transmission spectrum has a steep inclination in the vicinity of the boundary between the visible light and the near-infrared, and which can also be sufficiently reduced in size and thickness. The near-infrared cut filter has a near-infrared absorbing layer which contains a near-infrared absorbing dye containing at least one dye in which a condensed ring structure containing at least a benzene ring and a ring having nitrogen atom is bonded to both sides of a squarylium skeleton and which have a carboxylic acid amide structure at a second position of the benzene ring (where the carboxylic acid has a substituent having 5 to 25 having one or more branches), and a transparent resin with a refractive index of 1.45 or more.

Near-infrared cut filter

Provided is an optical filter, which includes a light-absorbing layer and a light-reflecting layer and satisfies the following requirements: (i) in a spectral transmittance curve at an incident angle of 0&#xb0;, an average transmittance over the 430-620 nm wavelength range is &#x2265;80%, an average transmittance over the 430-450 nm wavelength range is &#x2265;76%, an average transmittance over the 735-1100 nm wavelength range is &#x2264;5%, and an average transmittance over the 350-395 nm wavelength is &#x2264;5%; and (ii) there is a wavelength &#x3bb;(UV) with transmittance of 50% in the 400-425 nm wavelength range in the spectral transmittance curve at the incident angle of 0&#xb0;, there is a wavelength &#x3bb;(UV) with transmittance of 50% in the 400-425 nm wavelength range in a spectral transmittance curve at an incident angle of 30&#xb0;, and an absolute value of a difference between the wavelengths, |&#x3bb;(UV)&#x2212;&#x3bb;(UV),| is &#x2264;5 nm.

Optical filter

The present invention relates to an optical filter, a solid-state imaging element and an imaging device lens which contain a near infrared ray absorbing layer having a specific near infrared ray absorbing dye dispersed in a transparent resin having a refractive index of 1.54 or more, and also relates to an imaging device containing the solid-state imaging element or the imaging device lens. The near infrared ray absorbing layer has a transmittance of visible light of from 450 to 600 nm of 70% or more, a transmittance of light in a wavelength region of from 695 to 720 nm of not more than 10%, and an amount of change of transmittance of not more than &#x2212;0.8.

Optical filter, solid-state imaging element, imaging device lens and imaging device

There are provided a near-infrared cut filter that effectively uses near-infrared absorbing glass and a near-infrared absorbing dye and is excellent in a near-infrared shielding property, and a high-sensitivity solid-state imaging device including the same. A near-infrared cut filter includes: a near-infrared absorbing glass substrate made of CuO-containing fluorophosphate glass or CuO-containing phosphate glass; and a near-infrared absorbing layer containing a near-infrared absorbing dye (A) and a transparent resin (B), on at least one principal surface of the near-infrared absorbing glass substrate, wherein an average value of a transmittance in a 400 nm to 550 nm wavelength range is 80% or more, and an average value of a transmittance in a 650 nm to 720 nm wavelength range is 15% or less.

X is preferably a phenyl group. From 0 to 3 hydrogen atoms in the phenyl group are substituted by a polymerizable substituent represented by CH&#x2550;CR&#x2014;COO&#x2014;Y&#x2014;, and some or all of remaining hydrogen atoms in the phenyl group may be substituted by a methyl group or a fluorine atom.
