A coasting control device capable of avoiding coasting control during running on road having a small coefficient of friction between a tire and a road surface ('low &#x3bc; roads') includes a low &#x3bc; road running recognition unit which recognizes that a vehicle is running on a low &#x3bc; road and a unit for prohibiting coasting control during low &#x3bc; road running when the low &#x3bc; road running recognition unit recognizes that the vehicle is running on a low &#x3bc; road.

Coasting control device

A coasting control device for avoiding dangerous modes such as tire lock up upon the end of coasting control. The device, which performs coasting control to disengage the clutch and to reduce the engine revolutions per minute (RPM), also prevents a gearshift operation during coasting control.

A coasting control device capable of avoiding coasting control during turning is provided. A turning recognition unit that recognizes that a vehicle is turning and a unit for prohibiting coasting control during turning that prohibits coasting control when the turning recognition unit recognizes that the vehicle is turning are provided.

An antenna device comprises an antenna section and a filter section which are formed in an integrated manner in a dielectric substrate, wherein the antenna section and the filter section are coupled to one another via a capacitance. Further, 0.3&times;Lr&lE;Lt&lE;1.2&times;Lr is satisfied provided that an antenna length of the antenna section is Lt, and an antenna length measured for a single antenna is Lr. Accordingly, it is possible to realize a small size of the antenna device while avoiding the decrease in gain and the disadvantage of narrow band.

An antenna device is provided with a dielectric substrate comprising a large number of stacked dielectric layers and having at least an input/output terminal and a ground electrode formed on its outer circumferential surface. A plurality of &frac12; wavelength resonator elements of the both ends-open type are arranged in parallel to one another in the dielectric substrate respectively to construct a filter section. An antenna section is formed and constructed on the surface of the dielectric substrate. Two input/output electrodes are formed in the dielectric substrate, which are arranged at positions of point symmetry with respect to a center in the length direction of at least the resonator element disposed on the output side, of the plurality of &frac12; wavelength resonator elements. The two input/output electrodes are connected to balanced input/output terminals of the antenna section respectively.

A method for automatic control of a friction clutch (,) in a vehicle, which clutch is designed to be disengaged and engaged by a clutch actuator (,) under automatic control. An initial partially engaged clutch stroke position (Q,) and an initial clutch stroke position (P,) at which fluid pressure in the clutch actuator reaches a prescribed value are detected to obtain a difference (R,) between said two clutch stroke positions prior to initiation of automatic clutch control. The friction clutch wears as it is used. Therefore, both of the partially engaged clutch stroke position and the clutch stroke position attaining the prescribed fluid pressure value change while the automatic clutch engagement/disengagement control is being performed. However, the difference between these two clutch stroke positions does not change. A current clutch stroke position attaining the predetermined fluid pressure is only detected during the automatic clutch control, and a current partially engaged clutch stroke position (Q,) is determined by adding the difference (R,) to the detected clutch stroke position (P,).

Method of specifying and diagnosing abnormalities in partially-connected clutch stroke levels

A starting apparatus for starting an engine only under constant conditions includes an electronically controlled clutch which is engaged or disengaged by an actuator in accordance with output signals from various detectors. The detectors sense a driving state, wherein a starter cut relay having normally-closed contacts is connected to an output terminal of an electronic control unit. One of the contacts of the starter cut relay is connected to one end of a relay coil for a starter relay. The other end of the relay coil is connected to a power source through a key switch. The other contact of the starter cut relay is connected to a non-grounded side contact of a neutral relay which is connected to the power source.

An apparatus for engaging and disengaging a clutch, which is applicable to a vehicle provided with a so-called semiautomatic clutch, and which can prevent occurrence of an engagement shock and jerky acceleration of a vehicle when an automatic engaging and disengaging mode and a manual engaging and disengaging mode are switched from one to the other. The apparatus includes a manual disconnection/connection device (,) for manually engaging and disengaging the clutch (,) by operating a clutch pedal (,), an automatic disconnection/connection device (,) for automatically engaging and disengaging the clutch (,) in accordance with a predetermined input signal, and switching control device (,) for switching between a manual engaging and disengaging mode and an automatic engaging and disengaging mode after the clutch (,) has been engaged. A method for automatic control of a friction clutch (1) in a vehicle, which clutch is designed to be disengaged and engaged by a clutch actuator (3) under automatic control. In a vehicle with an automatically controlled clutch in which ON-OFF of the friction clutch is automatically controlled by a controller, clutch control during coasting (with the accelerator depression amount being 0%) is conducted according to a clutch ON-OFF map for coasting provided in the controller. Two different clutch ON-OFF maps for coasting are provided; one having a smaller hysteresis width, and the other having a larger hysteresis width. Clutch control during coasting is conducted by applying the map with a smaller hysteresis width when the brake pedal is stepped on or applying the map with a larger hysteresis width when the brake pedal is not stepped on. Thus, clutch ON-OFF hunting can be avoided, and smooth stopping can be conducted.

The reflector-provided dipole-antenna shows outstanding performance in a wide frequency range and allows simultaneous transmission and reception at different frequencies. A dipole antenna element is provided at the back of a dielectric substrate set to the reflector surface. A parasitic element is provided on the front of the dielectric substrate, which is constituted by forming and protruding the central portion of a linear conductor forward in an almost trapezoidal shape, for example. The protruded portion is set to a position corresponding to the front of the feed point of the dipole antenna element and the portions of the said parasitic element towards the ends are set to positions corresponding to the rear of the dipole antenna element. A feed circuit provided on the face side of dielectric substrate is connected to a coaxial connector provided at the back of the reflector.
