An electronic control unit engages two of friction engagement elements provided in an automatic transmission in a neutral range. The electronic control unit disengages one of the two friction engagement elements engaged in the neutral range at the time of starting gear stage switching of an auxiliary transmission from a low-speed gear stage to a high-speed gear stage in the neutral range, and re-engages the friction engagement element that has been disengaged when determining that the gear stage switching has been completed.

Torque reduction control is executed for temporarily reducing a torque capacity of a reaction engagement device during a transition of a shift. The reaction engagement device is maintained in an engaged state from before the shift to after the shift such that a predetermined rotating element in an automatic transmission bears a reaction caused by progress of the shift resulting from a change of an engaging-side engagement device into an engaged state. Therefore, without delaying a change of the engaging-side engagement device into the engaged state, transmission of torque that is generated as a result of rattling during a transition of a shift is reduced. Thus, in shift control over the automatic transmission, shock at the time of rattling is reduced while a stop of a shift due to a delay in change of the engaging-side engagement device into the engaged state is prevented.

An information processing apparatus capable of communicating with a plurality of autonomous driving vehicles includes: a storage unit configured to store a location of an autonomous driving difficult section on a map in association with a predetermined release condition; and a control unit configured to acquire from the plurality of autonomous driving vehicles reporting data of each of the autonomous driving vehicles through communication, the reporting data including a location of the vehicle on the map and at least one of reliability of the autonomous driving, difficulty state information indicative of the autonomous driving being difficult or not difficult, and a result of driver intervention, and the control unit being configured to determine whether to release the autonomous driving difficult section based on the acquired reporting data and on the location and the release condition of the autonomous driving difficult section stored in the storage unit.

An object of the invention is to provide a vehicle-mounted information processing apparatus capable of specifying the position of another vehicle with high accuracy using information related to the distance between another vehicle and an intersection point. An in-vehicle receiving apparatus to receive transmitted data from an on-road device having a reference position setting device to set a position satisfying a predetermined reception condition, as a reference position; a real receiving situation acquiring device to acquire a receiving situation of the transmitted data in a zone from the reference position set by the reference position setting device, to a predetermined position; a designed receiving situation estimating device to estimate a receiving situation of the transmitted data in a zone from a design position to the predetermined position when the predetermined reception condition is satisfied at the design position; and an error calculating device to calculate a distance error of the reference position from the design position, based on the receiving situation acquired by the real receiving situation acquiring device and the receiving situation estimated by the designed receiving situation estimating device.

A communication device, placed on roadside, for transmitting information to a plurality of lanes, comprises a plurality of transmission means for respectively transmitting information to the plurality of lanes, and control means for causing the plurality of transmission means to simultaneously transmit common information to all the lanes and, during when the common information is not simultaneously transmitted, causing transmission means for a specific lane in the plurality of transmission means to transmit specific lane information having a content related to the specific lane while stopping transmission means for a lane adjacent to the specific lane in the plurality of transmission means from transmitting information; wherein the common information to be simultaneously transmitted contains at least a part of information making a line identifiable in the specific lane information in addition to information having a content common in all the lanes.
