The present invention provides a resin composition comprising a thermoplastic resin (A), and a flat plate having a thickness of 3 mm obtained by injection molding using only the resin composition as a raw material satisfies all Eqs. 1 to 3 below: (Eq. 1) x<8; (Eq. 2) y<12; and (Eq. 3) y<12x[where x is an initial haze (%) of the flat plate measured according to JIS K 7136 before a steel wool abrasion test, y is an amount of change in the haze (%) of the flat plate with respect to the initial haze (%) measured according to JIS K 7136 after the steel wool abrasion test, and the steel wool abrasion test is a test in which #0000 steel wool is pressed against a surface of the flat plate at a pressure of 14 kPa and rubbed back-and-forth 11 times at a speed of 15 cm/sec in a direction perpendicular to the fiber direction of the steel wool].

Resin composition

Provided is a powder inorganic oxide containing Al, Ce and Zr as constituent elements, that affords a molded product with a density of 1.0 to 1.3 g/ml by placing 4.0 g of the inorganic oxide in a cylindrical container having diameter 20 mm and performing uniaxial molding under conditions of room temperature and pressure of 29.4 MPa for 30 sec., and achieves an average shrinkage percentage of not more than 14.0% as calculated by the following formula: average shrinkage percentage (%)=100&#xd7;{(1&#x2212;(c)/(a))+(1&#x2212;(d)/(b))}/2 wherein each symbol is as defined in the DESCRIPTION.

Inorganic oxide

Provided is alumina material comprising alumina and zirconium, wherein in a radial distribution function obtained by Fourier-transforming an extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectrum of a K absorption edge of the zirconium in the alumina material, the value of I/Iis 0.5 or less where Iis a maximum intensity among the intensities of peaks present at 0.1 nm to 0.2 nm, and Iis a maximum intensity among the intensities of peaks present at 0.28 nm to 0.35 nm.

Alumina material

Alumina having excellent electrolytic solution stability, a slurry containing the same, an alumina porous film using the same, a laminated separator, a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery are provided. Alumina is provided including one or more selected from K, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba and La in the total amount of 200 to 50,000 ppm by mass, wherein a surface concentration of one or more elements is 0.5 to 20 at % in total. Alumina is provided in which in an infrared absorption spectrum of the alumina obtained by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, a peak having an intensity larger than that of a baseline defined by a line segment connecting an intensity at 3,400 cmand an intensity at 3,500 cmand having a half width of 90 cmor less, does not exist in a range of 3,400 to 3,500 cm.

The dispersion liquid may form an applied film easily recovering hydrophilic properties with light irradiation even when contaminated by lipophilic materials. The ceramics dispersion liquid comprises a ceramics, a dispersion medium, and at least one compound selected from a carboxylic acid, an ammonium carboxylate, a salt of carboxylic acid with metal selected from Ia group, IIa group, IIIa group, Va group, VIa group, VIIa group, VIII group, Ib group, IIb group, IIIb group, IVb group and lanthanoid group, and a salt of oxalic acid with metal selected from IVa group.

Ceramics dispersion liquid, method for producing the same, and hydrophilic coating agent using the same

A titanium oxide showing sufficiently high photocatalytic activities by irradiation of visible light is provided. Using the titanium oxide, an excellent photocatalyst and photocatalyst coating composition are also provided. The titanium oxide has a selected ion chromatogram in which an evolution gas having 28 of a ratio of mass number to electric charge quantity exhibits at least one peak at about 600&#xb0; C. or higher, the selected ion chromatogram being measured in a thermogravimetry-mass-spectroscopy.

Titanium oxide and photocatalyst

A titanium oxide showing sufficiently high photocatalytic activities by irradiation of visible light is provided. Using the titanium oxide, an excellent photocatalyst and photocatalyst coating composition is also provided. The titanium oxide has (i) three or more peaks within the range of from 1.930 to 2.030 in g value of electron spin resonance spectrum of the titanium oxide, wherein the largest one of the peaks is within the range of from 1.990 to 2.020 in the g value and/or (ii) a spin concentration X of 1.50&times;10 spins/g or more, which is determined from electron spin resonance spectrum of the titanium oxide measured after irradiation of visible light.

Titanium-oxide and photocatalyst and photocatalyst coating composition

A photocatalyst is provided, which comprises a titanium oxide and a metal-containing compound other than titanium oxide on the surface of the titanium oxide, wherein the metal-containing compound is a metal oxide having an acid site and the photocatalyst has a BET specific surface area of about 55 m /g or larger, or wherein the metal-containing compound is a basic metal-containing compound and the photocatalyst has an anatase-crystalline structure and an anatase-crystalline size of about 10 nm or larger. The photocatalyst shows sufficiently high photocatalytic activities by irradiation of visible light.

Photocatalyst, process for producing the same and photocatalyst coating composition comprising the same

A titanium hydroxide is provided which can be utilized for producing a photocatalyst exhibiting a superior photocatalytic activity by irradiation of visible light. The titanium hydroxide has a primary differential spectrum (of radial structure function in connection with titanium K absorption edge) having maximal intensities (U and U ) and minimal intensities (L and L ) at interatomic distances in the range of from 1.4 &angst; to 2.8 &angst;, the maximal intensities being at an interatomic distance of from 1.4 &angst; to 1.7 &angst; and of from 2.2 &angst; to 2.5 &angst; and the minimal intensities being at an interatomic distance of from 1.9 &angst; to 2.2 &angst; and of from 2.5 &angst; to 2.8 &angst;; and index X calculated by the equation X&equals;(U &minus;L )/(U &minus;L ) of about 0.06 or more.

Titanium hydroxide, photocatalyst, and coating agent

There is provided a titanium hydroxide having a nitrogen content of 2.3% by weight or more in terms of nitrogen atom based on the titanium hydroxide and/or having a nitrogen content of about 3.3% by weight or more in terms of nitrogen atom based on the titanium oxide obtained after calcining the titanium hydroxide in air at about 400&deg; C. The titanium hydroxide may be utilized as a raw material for producing a photocatalyst which exhibits a superior photocatalytic activity by irradiation of visible light.
