In order to specify a dust emitting mechanism portion, a wafer must be provided near a mechanism portion in operation and the mechanism portion must be operated so that foreign matter sticks to a surface of the wafer. A mechanism that allows foreign matter to stick to a wafer by repeating operation of each of particular portions in a device and thus intentionally bringing about dust emission is provided. For example, the device includes a control device, a sample chamber in which a sample is processed, and a mechanism that loads and unloads a sample to and from the sample chamber, the mechanism has a plurality of portions, the control device has a script, and a particular portion of the plurality of portions of the mechanism is repeatedly operated as the control device executes the script.

A digital camera includes an outer casing cover. An open portion is formed in the outer casing cover, and an LCD unit is mounted to the open portion such that the display surface of the LCD unit is exposed to the outside through the open portion. The LCD unit includes a plate-like LCD module of a package type and a mounting frame having the LCD mounted thereto. The mounting frame is formed of a thin member such as a thin metal plate, and the holding frame for housing and holding the display element includes a display frame covering the peripheral portion of the display surface. The camera includes a strobe device, a distance-measuring device and a heat insulating section. The strobe device has a light source for irradiating light onto an object at the time of photographing. The distance-measuring device measures the distance to the object. The heat insulating section is provided between the strobe device and the distance-measuring device, so as to prevent the heat generated by the strobe device from being transmitted to the distance-measuring device.

A camera has a rubber gasket arranged between a rear lid and a rear cover and including an engagement portion which is deformable in the direction in which the rear lid is closed and is put into tight engagement with the rear lid, and a fin portion which extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction in which the rear lid is closed and which remains in contact with the edge portion of the opening of the rear cover. With this structure of the rear lid, the camera features watertightness and lighttightness.

A camera in which a photographing lens tube is movable between a collapsed position assumed in a non-photographing condition and an extension position assumed in a photographing condition. The camera is provided with a barrier swingingly rotatable through a hinge between a fully closed position at which the barrier covers a front surface section of a photographing lens and further to take a fully open position at which the barrier retreats from the photographing lens. The barrier is biased in a closing direction when it is in a fully closed position side relative to a substantially middle position between the fully closed position and the fully open position, while being biased in an open direction when being in a fully opening position side with respect to the substantial middle position. With a power switch being switched from its OFF state to its ON state, the barrier is shifted from the fully closed position to the fully open position in conjunction with the movement of the photographing lens tube from the collapsed position to the extension position.

A camera whose body is wound with a belt-like protective cover having an end detachably held by pin members thereon in such a manner as to cover a wall surface thereof. The protective cover is operative to cover and protects at least a photographing lens, a distance measuring or range finder window and a stroboscopic window. Thus, the camera is put into an enclosed state. Further, the enclosed state, in which the protective cover is wound around the body of the camera, is maintained by fitting a magnet hook attached to the other end of the protective cover into another magnet hook attached to the body of the camera and making these magnet hooks attracted to each other. Moreover, when putting the camera into a ready-to-photograph state, the protective cover is unwound by removing the magnet hooks from each other and opening the photographing lens and so on.

A camera equipped with a compact mechanism for loading or unloading film cassettes, has an R fork that transmits a drive force to the spool shaft of a film cassette in a cassette compartment so as to rotate the spool shaft in a predetermined direction. The cassette compartment is such that two opposite end faces in the axial direction of the spool are generally of the same size as two opposite end faces of the loaded film cassette and the R fork is urged in such a direction that it protrudes into the cassette compartment along the spool shaft and that it is capable of movement between two positions, one being where it protrudes into the cassette compartment and the other being where it retracts therefrom.

A camera has barrier supported by a rail block attached to the body of the camera and movable from a fully closed position where the barrier entirely covers the front of an imaging lens to a fully opened position where the barrier is fully retracted clear of the front of the imaging lens. At its fully closed position and fully opened position, the barrier clicks when a ball is pressed into contact with a cam formed on the rear surface of the barrier. Projection of the ball is restrained by a slip-off prevention portion of the rail block so that the barrier is not subjected to an excessive urging force. In the camera, the barrier is not subjected to an unnecessarily large urging force and is less likely to lift away from the camera. The advantage is particularly great if the barrier in use is narrower than the outer diameter of a lens barrel.

A camera which has an exterior component formed into one piece from a leather material and a resin material. Further, on a surface portion of this exterior component, a groove having a depth in a direction nearly normal or perpendicular thereto is formed in a border line portion between the leather material and the resin material. Moreover, in a mold for forming the exterior component, a projection portion is formed to cut the groove which serves as a positioning means for positioning the leather material therein.

This invention is directed to a camera in which an ordinary or normal photographing image-plane size, a photographing image-plane size narrower or smaller than the normal photographing image-plane size, for example, a panoramic size, and the like are changeable, the camera comprising a back closure openable and closable with respect to a camera body, an aperture arranged between a film and a photographing lens, for regulating an exposure range corresponding to the normal photographing image-plane size, a light shielding unit arranged between the film and the photographing lens and so arranged as to be movable between a saving position where the light shielding unit is saved (i.e. spaced) from the inside of the aperture so as not to interrupt an exposure luminous flux incident upon the aperture and a projecting position where the light shielding unit projects inwardly of the aperture to interrupt a part or substantially all of the exposure luminous flux, an operating unit for assigning the narrow photographing image-plane size, a detecting unit for detecting at least one camera operating condition including a power source condition of the camera, an opening and closing condition of the back closure, a forcible rewinding condition of the film and an exposure condition to a film surface, and a drive unit for driving the exposure unit, the drive unit driving the light shielding unit to the inward-most projected position or a saved position in spite of assignment of the operating unit in accordance with an output from the detecting unit.
