An electric compressor is provided which has: in a sealed container, a compression mechanism to compress a refrigerant and an electric motor to drive the compression mechanism, wherein the refrigerant contains 20% by mass or more of hydrofluoroolefin, and a refrigerator oil stored in the sealed container contains; polyvinyl ether as a base oil; an alicyclic epoxy compound in an amount of 0.1% by mass or more and 2.0% by mass or less relative to the base oil; an aliphatic epoxy compound in an amount of 0.1% by mass or more and 2.0% by mass or less relative to the base oil; and tertiary phosphate in an amount of 0.1% by mass or more and 2.0% by mass or less relative to the base oil.

Provided is a lubricant for a gas insulated switchgear, with which properties of a base oil such as heat resistance, evaporation loss, fluidity under a low temperature, and chemical stability (oxidation resistance and HF resistance) are balanced at a level higher than the conventional level, and long service life and high reliability of the gas insulated switchgear are achieved. A lubricant for a gas insulated switchgear according to the present invention, contains: a base oil containing a polyalphaolefin having a kinematic viscosity at 40&#xb0; C. of 50 mm/s or more; and a thickener containing bisamides.

Display device and production method thereof

It is an object of the present invention to provide a spacer which has an adequate Young's modulus for a spacer used in an image display panel and allows free adjustment of an electric resistance value, and an image display panel using the spacer. The spacer SPC holds a gap between a back panel PNLincluding a signal line CL, a scanning line GL, and an electronic source ELS provided for the main surface of a back substrate SUB, and a front panel PNLincluding a fluorescent material PH, a black matrix BM, and an anode AD provided for the main surface of a front substrate SUB. The spacer comprises phosphate glass including the same transition metal element with different valences. For electrical conduction, the included same transition metal element with different valences allows the use of hopping conduction between transition metal atoms with different valences to perform adjustment of electric resistance relatively easily. The transition metal element is at least one of vanadium (V), tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), niobium (Nb), and iron (Fe).

It is an object of the present invention to provide a reflector made of heat-resistant glass. It is another object of the present invention to provide a projective display which uses the reflector. The device includes a film, a heating source attached to the film, and a heat radiator plate attached to the other portion of the film. The refractive index of the film varies according to heat excitation, and the film comprises crystal grains of an oxide and amorphous portions present between the crystal grains.

An optical switch, in which focal position of beams is adjusted to provide a high switching efficiency and a high stability in action without increasing a light source output of a control light, comprising a condensing means for making a signal light and a control light convergent and incident upon a nonlinear optical thin-film and wherein irradiation of the control light causes a change of the nonlinear optical thin-film in refractive index to thereby change the signal light into a transmitted light or a reflected light to take out the same as an output signal.

Optical switch, element therefor, and optical switching method

A non-linear optical material comprising crystal grains of an oxide having a corundum type crystal structure, and amorphous portions in the surroundings of the crystal grains, in a thin film, is disclosed. The non-linear optical thin film has such a property that its refractive index varies largely when energy is applied thereto. Since the material shows little loss of light transmitted therethrough, it is possible, by use of the material, to provide a non-linear optical device for efficiently changing over the emission path of a light signal or turning-ON/OFF the light signal.
