In a motor, a stator includes: a stator core having slots arranged in a circumferential direction; and conductor connection bodies with conductors connected in series and inserted into the slots. A conductor connection body includes: a first portion wave-wound toward one side in the circumferential direction from a first end to a second end; a second portion wave-wound toward the one side in the circumferential direction from a third end to a fourth end; and a folded portion connecting the first and second portions. The first and third ends protrude in an axial direction from different slots in the circumferential direction, and the second and fourth ends protrude in the axial direction from different slots in the circumferential direction. The conductors include a folded conductor that forms a folded portion connecting the second end of the first portion and the fourth end of the second portion.

Motor

First and second sets of magnet assemblies and magnetic assemblies are alternately arranged in a circumferential direction in a first portion along an axial direction, and the first and second sets are alternately arranged in the circumferential direction in a second portion along the axial direction. When viewed in the axial direction, the first set of the first portion and the second set of the second portion overlap with each other, and the second set of the first portion and the first set of the second portion overlap with each other.

Rotor, motor, and electric power steering device

A motor includes a stationary unit and a rotary unit. The stationary unit includes a stator, a base portion having at least one hole extending in the up-down direction, and a flexible wiring substrate. The flexible wiring substrate reaches a position higher than a lower surface of the base portion through at least one hole and is arranged to supply electric power to the stator. The flexible wiring substrate includes a connection portion arranged higher than the lower surface of the base portion and connected to the stator. The connection portion includes a solder portion arranged on a lower surface thereof to cover a portion of a lead wire extending from a coil of the stator. At least a portion of the solder portion is positioned within the hole.

Motor and disk drive apparatus

In this stator, a passage line extending in a circumferential direction is disposed in a circumferential gap between two circumferentially adjacent ones of coils. A lead wire continuous with a conducting wire defining one of the coils includes a bend portion being bent in the gap with the passage line serving as a supporting point; a led-out portion arranged to extend from the coil to one side in an axial direction to the bend portion; and a connection portion arranged to extend from the bend portion to another side in the axial direction. At least a portion of a portion of the lead wire which overlaps with the passage line when viewed in a radial direction is arranged at a radial position between the passage line and a core back. Thus, the lead wire is bent with the passage line serving as the supporting point to reverse the direction in which the lead wire runs in the axial direction, and this contributes to preventing a slackening of the connection portion of the lead wire from causing the lead wire to be slackened to the one side in the axial direction. This in turn reduces the likelihood that the lead wire will be brought into contact with a member arranged on the one side of the stator in the axial direction.

Stator, motor, disk drive apparatus, and method of manufacturing stator

A stationary portion of a spindle motor includes a stator portion and an outside surface. The stator portion includes a stator core and coils. The outside surface extends in an axial direction parallel or substantially parallel to a central axis, and is centered on the central axis. The spindle motor includes a fixing portion at which an inside surface of the stator core and the outside surface are fixed to each other. The fixing portion includes a first press fit portion, a second press fit portion, and a gap arranged therein. The gap is located between the first press fit portion and the second press fit portion. The second press fit portion is located above the first press fit portion. At least a portion of the second press fit portion is located above a middle of the stator core in the axial direction.

Spindle motor and disk drive apparatus

A case of a disk drive apparatus includes a housing in which a disk is accommodated, and a top cover arranged to close an opening of the housing. The top cover includes a top cover body and a flow control member. The top cover body is a plate-shaped member arranged to extend perpendicularly to a central axis. The flow control member is fixed to a lower surface of the top cover body. The flow control member includes a lower surface arranged axially opposite to at least a portion of an upper surface of the disk.

Top cover and disk drive apparatus

A spindle motor includes a stationary portion and a rotating portion arranged to rotate about a central axis extending in a vertical direction with respect to the stationary portion. The stationary portion includes a stator portion including a stator core including an annular core back and a plurality of tooth portions arranged to extend radially outward from the core back, and coils wound around the plurality of tooth portions; an outside surface press fitted to an inside surface of the core back; and a fixing member arranged at least on an upper surface of the core back. Conducting wires defining the coils include passage lines each of which is arranged to join different ones of the coils to each other; and lead wires each of which is drawn out from one of the coils, and is drawn out from an upper side of upper surfaces of the tooth portions to a lower side of lower surfaces of the tooth portions.

A stator includes a stator core and a plurality of coils. The stator core includes a core-back, a plurality of teeth portions, and a plurality of lug portions. Each of the plurality of teeth portions includes a coil winding portion and a tip end portion. The core-back includes a slanted portion. An axial position of a magnetic center of the rotor magnet radially outward of the stator overlaps with an axially extending range of the tip end portion. A thickness of the slanted portion in a direction perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to an upper surface of the slanted portion is smaller than an axial thickness of the coil winding portion.

A stator includes a stator core and a plurality of coils. The stator core includes a core-back and a plurality of teeth portions. Each of the teeth portions includes a coil winding portion, a tip end portion, and an increased width portion. The tip end portion has a circumferential width larger than a smallest width of the coil winding portion. The increased width portion has a circumferential width larger than the smallest width of the coil winding portion. The increased width portion includes a slanted portion extending radially outward and upward. An axial position of a magnetic center of the rotor magnet positioned radially outward of the stator overlaps with an axially extending range of the tip end portion. A thickness of the slanted portion in a direction perpendicular to an upper surface of the slanted portion is smaller than an axial thickness of the coil winding portion.

A spindle motor includes a stationary unit, a rotary unit and a bearing mechanism. The stationary unit includes a base member, a stator including a plurality of coils and a wiring substrate electrically connected to the stator. The base member includes a tubular portion, a first accommodation portion, an opening portion, a plurality of coil accommodation portions, a second accommodation portion, and at least one through-hole. The wiring substrate includes an arc portion and an extension portion. A lead wire is led out from at least one of the coils and is connected to the arc portion by soldering within the through-hole.

A motor includes a stationary unit and a rotary unit. The stationary unit includes a stator, a base portion having at least one hole, and a flexible wiring substrate. The flexible wiring substrate reaches a position higher than a lower surface of the base portion through at least one hole and is arranged to supply electric power to the stator. The flexible wiring substrate includes a connection portion arranged higher than the lower surface of the base portion and connected to the stator. The connection portion includes a solder portion arranged on a lower surface thereof to cover a portion of a lead wire extending from a coil of the stator. At least a portion of the solder portion is positioned within the hole.

A spindle motor of a disk drive apparatus includes a base unit, a stator core, a covered cylindrical rotor hub, a rotor magnet, and a bearing mechanism. The height of the stator core in an axial direction is about 50% or more and about 70% or less of the height of the stator. A torque constant Kt of torque generated between a stator and a rotor magnet is about 4 mN&#xb7;m/A or more and about 6 mN&#xb7;m/A or less. A motor constant Km is about 2 mN&#xb7;m/(A&#xb7;&#x221a;&#x3a9;) or more and about 4 mN&#xb7;m/(A&#xb7;&#x221a;&#x3a9;) or less.

A spindle motor of a disk drive apparatus includes a base unit, a stator, a covered cylindrical rotor hub, a rotor magnet, and a bearing mechanism. The rotor magnet is an Nd&#x2014;Fe&#x2014;B bond magnet. The thickness of the rotor magnet in the radial direction is about 0.7 mm or more and about 1.0 mm or less. The distance between the rotor magnet and the stator core in the radial direction is about 0.15 mm or more and about 0.20 mm or less. A torque constant Kt of torque generated between the stator and the rotor magnet is about 4 mN&#xb7;m/A or more and about 6 mN&#xb7;m/A or less. A motor constant Km is about 2 mN&#xb7;m/(A&#xb7;&#x221a;&#x3a9;) or more and about 4 mN&#xb7;m/(A&#xb7;&#x221a;&#x3a9;) or less.

A spindle motor includes a base portion; a stator arranged above the base portion; a rotor hub including a cover portion positioned above the stator, and a side wall portion arranged to extend downward from an outer edge of the cover portion; a rotor magnet positioned radially outward of the stator, and fixed to an inner circumferential surface of the side wall portion of the rotor hub; and a bearing mechanism arranged to support the rotor hub and the rotor magnet to be rotatable. A height of the rotor magnet as measured in an axial direction is preferably in a range of about 2 mm to about 3 mm (both inclusive), and a height of a stator core of the stator as measured in the axial direction is preferably in a range of about 50% to about 75% (both inclusive) of the height of the rotor magnet.
