An airbag device installed in a steering wheel of a vehicle and includes: a gas generator that is secured to the steering wheel and generates expansion gas; and an airbag cushion that is expanded and deployed by the expansion gas toward the occupant side. The airbag cushion includes an occupant side panel that faces an occupant when expanded and deployed, a steering side panel that is opposite the occupant side panel, and a side panel that connects both panels at the outer edge of the occupant side panel and the steering side panel. A recessed part is formed near the center of the occupant side panel with the airbag cushion in an expanded and deployed state. A substantially flat part that comes into contact with the face of the occupant is formed in an area above the recessed part of the occupant side panel.

Airbag device

The present invention, includes: a damper unit provided between an airbag module that acts as a damper mass for a steering wheel and the steering wheel to dampen vibrations of the steering wheel, an engagement mechanism provided in the airbag module that maintains the airbag module on the steering wheel in a relatively displaceable manner, and protecting means provided on the airbag module for stopping external forces to the engagement mechanism in a non-engaged state with the steering wheel, that may cause deformation, and thereby protecting the engagement mechanism.

Driver seat airbag device

A steering wheel includes a steering wheel body, an airbag module, and a damper unit that connects the steering wheel body and the airbag module. The airbag module is mounted to the steering wheel body via the damper unit facing in a Z-axis first direction that is an example of a first direction. The damper unit is configured to apply a force on the airbag module in a state where the airbag module is mounted on the steering wheel body in a direction of pushing up the airbag module in a direction that intersects with the Z-axis first direction.

Driver airbag device

A driver seat airbag device restrains an occupant seated in a driver seat of a vehicle, and includes, a chest protecting cushion that expands and deploys behind a yoke steering wheel; and a head protecting cushion that expands and deploys adjacent to and above the chest protecting cushion. The head protecting cushion extends from an upper portion of the chest protecting cushion to an upper surface of an instrument panel when expanded and deployed, and contacts and restrains the head of the occupant from the front.

Driver's seat airbag device

A driver side airbag device with an airbag module including a steering wheel, an inflator, and a cushion. The steering wheel includes a housing portion that stores the airbag module and a cover member that seals the housing portion. The cover member has a design region on an occupant side, and a thin-walled portion formed from an upper portion region to a lower portion region of the design region that is cleaved open by an expansion pressure of the cushion to open cover doors. The thin-walled portion has a first plate thickness portion and a second plate thickness portion that is thinner than the first plate thickness portion. The second plate thickness portion is formed in the lower portion region of the design region.

A driver seat airbag device, provided with a steering wheel and an airbag module. The steering wheel includes a variant rim with a central upper part thereof omitted, and a cover member that covers the module installation surface at the center of the rim and the airbag module. The cover member includes a frontal region on an occupant side of the airbag module, an upper region on the upper side of the airbag module, and a tear line that enables the frontal region and the upper region to open up as cover doors. The tear line extends continuously from at least the center of the frontal region to at least the center of the upper region. The cover doors open to the left and right respectively from near the center of the frontal region and upper region.

An airbag device for a driver's seat is provided with a variant steering wheel, and an airbag module. The variant steering wheel has a module mounting surface and a cover member. When the cover member receives the expansion pressure of a cushion, a cover door opens. The airbag module includes a cloth member that is put on the cushion. A front end side of the cloth member is connected to an inflator, and a rear end is a free end. The airbag module is in a state in which the cushion is in a stored state, the cloth member is put over the cover member side of the cushion, and the cloth member is held between the cover member and the cushion in the stored state.

Airbag device for driver's seat

A frame side plate part of a frame member of a seat along a side surface of a backrest; and a bracket attached to the frame side plate part in a condition where an airbag cushion and an inflator are secured. The frame side plate part has a notch region where a predetermined range of a front edge is cut out The bracket has: a base part which is fitted into the notch region of the frame side plate part and to which the airbag cushion and the inflator are secured; and a reaction force plate bent from a front side of the base part and extends to one side in a vehicle width direction. Guide grooves are formed on an upper edge and lower edge of the notch region, and the base part can be inserted into the notch region from the front along the guide grooves.

Side airbag device

[Problem] To provide a steering wheel including a damper unit with an excellent vibration absorbing effect. [Resolution Means] The steering wheel according to the present invention includes: a cored bar member; an airbag module which houses an airbag cushion and an inflator and is coupled to the cored bar member; and a damper unit arranged between the cored bar member and the airbag module. Here, the damper unit includes: a buffer member including an elastic material; an upper support member supporting the buffer member from above; and a lower support member supporting the buffer member from below. Moreover, the buffer member includes a laterally protruding flange part configured so as to be sandwiched between the upper support member and the lower support member. In addition, a gap is formed between the flange and at least one of the upper support member or the lower support member.

An airbag cushion, which expands and deploys between adjacent seats in a passenger compartment, comprising a top panel and bottom panel that are separated and face each other vertically when deployed, side panels connecting the edges of the top panel and the bottom panel, a protruding part that protrudes upward from the top panel, a cylindrical inflator attached along the inner surface of the side panel on the side of the protruding part is stowed in a folded state by overlaying the top panel and the side panel provided with the attachment part of the inflator, and lining up a first roll part which is the protruding part rolled up, a fold-back part which is the first side part folded back to cover the attachment part of the inflator, and a second roll part on top of the top panel with the second roll part in the center.

Airbag device and manufacturing method thereof

Problem: To provide a damper mechanism of a steering wheel and a steering wheel apparatus for a vehicle in which it is possible to ensure a damping effect comparable to that of the known art and to decrease an airbag module in size so as to achieve a reduction in cost. Solution: A damper mechanism of a steering wheel includes: two damper unitsthat are provided between a steering wheeland an airbag modulefunctioning as a damper mass and damp vibration of the steering wheel; and an engaging mechanism (hook of a plate-shaped damper) that is provided in parallel with the damper unit, between the steering wheel and the airbag module, and holds the steering wheel and the airbag module in a relatively displaceable manner.

Damper mechanism of steering wheel and steering wheel apparatus for vehicle

An airbag includes first and second inner tethers, first and second vent holes formed on left and right sides of the airbag, and first and second opening/closing members capable of opening/closing the first and second vent holes. A first opening/closing tether has a first end portion coupled to the first opening/closing member and a second end portion coupled to the first inner tether, and a second opening/closing tether has a first end portion coupled to the second opening/closing member and a second end portion coupled to the second inner tether. When an occupant contacts the airbag, at least one of the first and second inner tethers is deformed to move at least one of the first and second opening/closing tethers toward the corresponding vent hole and cause at least one of the first and second opening/closing members to open the corresponding vent hole.

A curtain airbag device that allows easy recognition and correction of twisting of an airbag during attaching. The curtain airbag device can be stored in a compact manner during transportation. The curtain airbag device including an airbag that is disposed along a roof side rail of a vehicle interior, and that can deploy so as to cover a window portion on a side face of the vehicle interior, the curtain airbag device further including a cover that covers the airbag, at least, in a part of the folded or rolled airbag in the longitudinal direction. The cover is formed of a pliable fabric material of polymer fibers, and maintains the shape of the rolled-up airbag through mutual fusion of at least a part of the polymer fibers. A high stiffness portion harder than other portions and formed during the fusion of the cover is provided in the cover extending in the longitudinal direction of the cover.

Curtain airbag

An airbag device having an airbag that can be inflated and deployed by inflating gas; a gas generator that supplies the inflating gas to the inside of the airbag; a housing that accommodates the airbag in a folded state; and a cloth-like deployment restricting member that is fixed at one end to the housing and that encloses part of the folded airbag. A deployment non-restricted portion of the airbag deploys upward, the deployment non-restricted portion not being enclosed by the deployment restricting member, and a deployment restricted portion, which is enclosed by the deployment restricting member, is deployed afterward.
