A motorized apparatus for towing a wheelchair includes a framework, a handle assembly, a motor driving assembly and a wheelchair connecting assembly. The framework includes a chassis. The handle assembly is adjustably mounted on the chassis. The motor driving assembly is mounted on the chassis and includes a wheel assembly with a single wheel rotatably mounted on the chassis, a combined clutch and brake assembly connected to the wheel assembly, a motor assembly connected to the combined clutch and brake assembly to drive the single wheel assembly through the combined clutch and brake assembly and a one-hand operated battery assembly coupled electrically to the motor assembly to drive the control unit and the motor assembly. The wheelchair connecting assembly interconnects the framework to a wheelchair. Consequently, the motorized apparatus will tow the wheelchair along a path, road and so on.

An apparatus for selecting seedlings and transferring the same. The apparatus comprises a feeding device for intermittently feeding a culture tray having a plurality of rows of rearing chambers to rear seedlings, sensor means for examining the quality of the seedlings, a pushing device for pushing upwardly seedlings having a good quality, a taking-out device for taking out the seedlings pushed upwardly from the rearing chambers, and a transferring device for receiving the seedlings taken out of the rearing chambers and transferring them to a delivery tray. With the above structure, the seedlings cultured in rearing chambers are automatically taken out, the quality of the seedlings are judged by the sensor means, and only good seedlings are automatically transferred to a delivery tray.

Apparatus for selecting seedlings and transferring the same

A plant tissue cutting and transplanting apparatus is provided with a supply system for plant receptacles which are covered by lids after plants that have been propagated and grown in a culture medium, a . supply system for lidded empty receptacles that contain the culture medium, a lid opening and closing head to open and close the lids of the receptacles that are supplied by these supply systems, a square cutter to cut a predetermined number of plants in the receptacles that contain plants, and a transplanting head that is provided with a transplanting device to transplant these plant fragments that have been cut by the cutter from the square portions of the cutter to the culture medium in the empty receptacles. The transplanting device is provided with a plural number of pushing rods so as to correspond to the positions of the squares of the cutter, a plural number of lifting apparatus that can lift together each set of a predetermined number of these pushing rods, and a lifting apparatus that lifts the transplanting head.

An aerobic-cultivation tank of vertical type comprises: a closed outer tank structure of cylindrical shape; an internal cooling jacket secured concentrically to the inner wall surface of said tank structure and having a cylindrical space for accommodating a coolant; a plurality of fluid downcast pipes passed vertically through said space and being open at upper and lower ends thereof to upper and lower interior parts of the tank structure; means for passing the coolant through said space; and means for supplying fluid media into the tank structure, whereby, when the fluid media are supplied into the tank structure to a level above the upper ends of the fluid downcast pipes, the fluid media overflow into and descend through said pipes, while being cooled, into a lower interior part of the tank, while a portion of said fluid media in contact with the inner surface of the cooling jacket is also cooled and descends, the fluid media body as a whole thereby undergoing a natural circulatory flow due to convection.
