An abnormality detection device for a rolling bearing includes a filter that allows passage of lubricating oil, while preventing passage of metal pieces, from the bearing space between the outer ring and the inner ring of the rolling bearing to the exterior of the bearing space. The device further includes an electrical circuit including a pair of permanent magnets mounted, as a pair of electrodes, to the filter so as to be spaced apart from each other, and electrical lines extending from the respective electrodes to a power source. A state detector detects a change in electrical output from the electrical circuit when metal pieces adhere between the pair of permanent magnets, thereby detecting the state of the metal pieces contained in the lubricating oil.

Abnormality detection device for rolling bearing

The present invention provides an abnormality detector for a rolling bearing including an outer race, and an inner race. The abnormality detector includes a filter configured to prevent metal pieces contained in lubricating oil flowing through the bearing space between the outer and inner races from passing through the filter, while allowing the lubricating oil to pass through the filter so as to flow to the outside space of the bearing space; an electric circuit including a pair of permanent magnets mounted, as a pair of electrodes, to the filter so as to be spaced apart from each other, and lines extending from the respective electrodes to a power source; and an output detector configured to detect a change in electrical output from the electric circuit when metal pieces adhere between the pair of permanent magnets, thereby detecting the state of metal pieces contained in the lubricating oil.

Provided is a railway vehicle bearing abnormality sensing system that can accurately perform abnormality determination for railway vehicle bearings. The system () senses an abnormality in a plurality of rolling bearings () housed in an axle box () provided to a bogie (). The system () includes: vibration detection devices () each detecting vibration of a rolling bearing; an analysis device () determining an abnormality in the bearings () on the basis of detection data detected by the device (); and reception response detection start module () receiving a detection start signal and cause the device () to detect vibration of the rolling bearing. The system () further includes a measurement start command transmitting device (), installed apart from a railway vehicle, transmitting the detection start signal to the module ().

Bearing abnormality sensing system for railway vehicle

A rolling bearing includes rolling elements between an outer race and an inner race, a resin seal ring covering an opening of at least one end of a bearing space, and a filter covering an oil hole defined in the resin seal ring for capturing foreign matter contained in lubricating oil. The filter and the resin seal ring are integrated by insert molding and are made of the same material. An annular lip portion, which is separate from the resin seal ring, is in contact with the outer race. An engaged portion on a radially inner side of the resin seal ring is engaged in a recess defined in the inner race such that, during thermal expansion of the resin seal ring, the engaged portion is engaged such that the resin seal ring is movable in a radial direction relative to the inner race.

Rolling bearing and a travel unit including rolling bearings

A rolling bearing with a rotation sensor includes an inner race and an outer race, one of which is a rotating race and the other of which is a stationary race. An annular magnetic encoder alternately magnetized in opposite polarities in its circumferential direction is mounted on the rotating race. A magnetic sensor configured to detect the changes in magnetic flux when the magnetic encoder is rotated is mounted in a resin sensor housing mounted on the stationary race. The sensor housing is made of a resin material including a resin composition containing polyphenylene sulfide, an inorganic filler, and glass fiber.

An annular sensor holder () has an axial end () including a protrusion (). The axial end () is fitted in a circumferential groove (), such as a seal groove, of a bearing race () fitted to a stationary member () so that the sensor holder () can slide in the circumferential direction relative to the bearing race (). In this state, the sensor holder () is coupled to the stationary member () by a fixing arrangement (). Thus, when the bearing race () creeps, the sensor holder () slides relative to the bearing race () and does not rotate relative to the stationary member (). This prevents breakage of connecting wires.

A bearing device is constituted by a rolling bearing and a lubricant supply device combined with each other. A rolling bearing device has an oil supply unit which includes: a lubrication oil tank with a discharge port of a lubrication oil; a pump which sucks the lubrication oil from the lubrication oil tank and discharges the lubrication oil; and an electric power source section for driving the pump. The oil supply unit is disposed inside the rolling bearing or inside a spacer which is placed adjacent to the rolling bearing, and the pump is operated intermittently. The electric power source section for driving the pump includes: a power generator section which generates power by temperature difference between inner and outer rings in the rolling bearing; and a charging section which stores the electric power from the power generator section. The pump is driven when a voltage in the charging section attains a driving voltage for the pump.

Rolling bearing device

A bearing assembly having an RFID (radio frequency identification) function, which can implement a communication and has a capability of accomplishing information communication on a non-contact basis. This bearing assembly includes an inlet, including an IC chip and an antenna connected with such IC chip, and a magnetic sheet, both of which are embedded in overlapped relation to each other in a bearing seal for sealing a bearing space.

A bearing assembly with a sensor, includes an annular, synthetic resin sensor holder supported on an outer race using a circumferential groove of the outer race so as to be strongly fixed in position by a spring member having circumferential half-split elastic recovery portions. The spring member is a square sectional wire and includes a main portion fitted in an annular groove of the sensor holder, and opposite end portions that circumferentially protrude from the annular groove and are located inside an open recess of the sensor holder. The opposite end portions of the spring member overlap axially when fitted in the annular groove, and abut and are deflected when one of the end portions is shifted to remove the overlapping. Forces caused by elastic recovery of the deflected end portions increase the force of the main portion pushing the sensor holder in a radially outward direction.

A magnetic memberof the magnetic encoderis made of a magnetic material bound by rubber. The magnetic memberis bonded to an annular presser member, which also serves as a metal core, by an adhesive, thus eliminating the need for a mold and other facilities for vulcanization bonding. This makes it possible to manufacture a magnetic encoderwith a large outer diameter at a low cost.
