In steering control for individually controlling wheel steering angles &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, and &#x3b1;of a vehicle in accordance with a condition equation for forming a prescribed mode, one of the condition equation variables is used as a steering command value S. In a process for changing the command value S from a value Sto a value S, for transitioning the steering angles &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;from values [&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;]corresponding to the steering command value S, to values [&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;]corresponding to the steering command value S, the steering angles &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;are changed toward incremental transition steering angles [&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;]corresponding to a steering command value (S+&#x394;S), which is the steering command value Sto which an incremental steering command value &#x394;S has been added. After the steering angles &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;reach their incremental transition steering angles and steering angle conformance is detected, the angles are changed toward incremental transition steering angles [&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;]corresponding to a steering command value (S+n&#x394;S), which is the steering command value to which an incremental steering command value &#x394;S has been added [n times] in succession. This is repeated as many times as required to change the steering angles &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;from [&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;]to [&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;].

Electric vehicle steering/drive control method

An electric vehicle steering/drive control method and apparatus having predetermined steering modes defining composite patterns of individual wheel travel paths, whereby the vehicle wheels are controlled independently. The steering modes are determined by different condition equations related to each composite pattern. A steering mode select signal is generated based on a mode selection by a vehicle driver. The steering mode select signal is received by a wheel steering angle computer and a wheel rotation speed computer. Based in part on the steering mode select signal, the wheel steering angle computer generates a signal that is received by a steering motor controller, which in turn controls motors that change the steering angle of the wheels. An actual angle sensor generates a signal based on the actual angle of the wheels and a steering angle comparator receives the actual angle sensor signal. In addition, to move the vehicle in a particular direction and at a particular speed, a speed and direction command signal is also generated based on driver input. This speed and direction command signal is received by a common signal rate of change suppression computer, which generates a signal received by the wheel steering angle computer and a wheel rotation speed computer. Then the wheel rotation speed computer generates a signal based on signals received from the common signal rate of change suppression computer and the steering angle comparator computer. A drive motor controller receives the wheel rotation speed signal and activates drive motors associated with each wheel, thereby causing the wheels to move rotationally.

An electric vehicle has two driving operation blocks with the same appearance that are provided at both the front and rear ends of the body of the vehicle symmetrically around a point. The vehicle employs a collapsible driver's seat. The vehicle has four driving and steering blocks. Each of the driving and steering blocks contains a wheel, a drive motor that rotates the wheel and a steering gear motor that changes the direction of the wheel. A service floor of the vehicle does not have a wall and a floor height is extremely low for easy access by a senior citizen or a person in a wheel chair.

A shoplifting prevention device is provided which includes a marker that carries merchandise identifying information thereon, and a magnetic recording medium that is combined with the marker, and can be magnetized and demagnetized to permit recording and erasing of information by means of a magnetic field. The shoplifting prevention device is attached to an article of merchandise. In one preferred form of the invention, the marker consists of a cloth that carries merchandise identifying information, and the device including the cloth combined with the magnetic recording medium is attached to an article.

A composite digital network including an integrating circuit, a summing circuit and a coefficient circuit is formed as an integrated circuit that provides a selected one of digital arithmetic circuits that perform different arithmetic operations depending upon coefficients of the coefficient circuits. A plurality of units of such composite digital networks may be connected in rows, columns or layers to provide an expanded network. In a method of producing such a composite digital network, basic digital arithmetic circuits that respectively correspond to various types of basic analog arithmetic circuits are defined based on Kirchhoff's rules, for example, and these basic digital arithmetic circuits are coupled to each other via a coefficient circuit to thus provide a generic digital arithmetic integrated circuit.
