A compressing device, a drive shaft and a bearing device are assembled into a tubular member. All-around welding of a cover member to the tubular member is performed to form a casing in such a manner that welding is overlapped over a welding start point, at which the all-around welding is started, to form an overlapped portion in a welding bead generated by the all-around welding. In the all-around welding, heat input is externally applied to a diametrically opposite portion of the casing, which is diametrically opposite to the overlapped portion, so that the diametrically opposite portion is deformed symmetrically with respect to a welding distortion at the overlapped portion.

Compressor and manufacturing method thereof

A compressor comprises an oil separator for separating oil from a refrigerant compressed by a compression mechanism unit, and a high-pressure oil storage chamber for storing the oil separated by the oil separator. At least a portion of the oil separator is provided outside a housing. The high-pressure oil storage chamber has an outer wall that is thicker than the outer wall of the housing accommodating the compression mechanism unit, and an end wall of the housing is formed by this thicker outer wall.

Compressor with oil separation and storage

In a hybrid type compressor, a one-way clutch is provided between a magnet rotor and a rotor shaft for allowing rotational driving force generated by an electric motor unit to be transmitted only from a rotor to a shaft. Thus, the rotational driving force generated by a vehicle engine is not transmitted from the rotor shaft to the magnet rotor. That is, an inertia moment of a rotational system with respect to a vehicle engine is made small, thereby reducing the impact vibration when the clutch mechanism engages.

Hybrid type compressor driven by engine and electric motor

A thrust bearing mechanism receives thrust force which is an element force of a compression counter-force acting on a movable scroll member, and which is perpendicular to the orbital direction of the movable scroll member. The thrust bearing mechanism includes plural substantially cylindrically-shaped first and second rollers. The first roller rotates in one direction, and the second roller rotates perpendicularly to the first roller. Thus, the contact surface area of the rollers is larger than that in which spherical rollers receive the thrust force, thereby suppressing the compressor from being enlarged to accommodate increased thrust forces, and improving the reliability and durability of the compressor.

Compressor having thrust bearing mechanism

A compact, lightweight electric motor driven compressor suitable for an air conditioning system using a CO,refrigerant is disclosed. The thickness of a motor casing is reduced by using the gaps formed in the motor portion in a motor casing as a part of a low-pressure intake chamber, while forming a part of the discharge chamber by utilizing the annular gap between the inner surface of a pump casing and the outer surface of a compressor portion. In the case where CO,refrigerant is used, the compressor portion can be reduced in size and therefore a dead space is generated due to the difference in size with the motor casing. Since this dead space is used as a discharge chamber, the capacity of the discharge chamber can be increased to suppress the discharge pulsation.

Electric motor driven compressor

A CO.sub.2 compressor is disclosed for forcing and moving a lubricant under discharge pressure. If the oil path is reduced in size or a pressure reducing part is inserted to handle the large differential pressure caused between the discharge pressure and the intake pressure, the oil path would become liable to be easily clogged by foreign matter. In view of this, an intermittent oil supply mechanism is formed in the oil path using the sliding contact portion between a fixed member of the compressor body and a movable member. Thus, the substantial lubrication time period is shortened and the amount of oil supplied is limited.
