A print control apparatus includes the following components. A receiving unit receives a print request. A print data generating unit generates print data for outputting images on print sheets on the basis of the received print request. An obtaining unit obtains information on the printing speed of a printer that is to print the images on the print sheets on the basis of the generated print data. A deciding unit decides, on the basis of the obtained information on the printing speed, page intervals at which reduced-size images are to be generated. A reduced-size image generating unit generates, on the basis of the received print request, at the decided page intervals, reduced-size images of the images to be output on the print sheets. A display unit displays the generated reduced-size images.

The Disclosure relates to a printing service method for discounting services by printing with advertisements and realizes various discount services. The present invention comprises: a printing step for sending printing management information along with the user ID to the serverthrough the networkwhen the user prints with advertisements with the user's printing device, and storing that information as an advertisement usage record for each user ID; a step for referencing the user's advertisement usage record, for least one service, selected by the user from among a plurality of services relating to the printing device that used the advertisement printing record, determining whether to authorize the discount for the selected service, and updating the advertisement usage record of the abovementioned user to perform the authorized discount service. A variety of discount services can be realized because the print operation with advertisements is managed by the server and the user can use the usage records.

An image transferring apparatus is provided which holds a print sheet in a nip between an image carrier and a transfer roller and supplies the current to the transfer roller to transfer a toner image formed on the image carrier to the print medium. The apparatus has conductive brushes disposed in contact with ends. of the transfer roller to form a bypass circuit. The bypass circuit is connected to ground through a resistor and introduce the part of the current supplied to the transfer roller in an image transferring operation, thereby avoiding formation of any print defects such as discharge-caused marks or toner stops.

An image forming apparatus including an image transport member driven to rotate with a latent image formed on a surface thereof, and a toner transport member driven to rotate with toner attached thereto for developing the latent image and in contact with the image transport member to transport the toner to the image transport member. The image forming apparatus further includes a toner layer thickness regulating member disposed in pressure contact with the surface of the toner transport member to regulate the thickness of a layer of toner transported in a state of being attached to the surface of the toner transport member. The amount of charge of the toner on the surface of the toner transport member is regulated in the range of from -16 .mu.C/g to -19 .mu.C/g.
