A control apparatus of a power transmission system for a vehicle calculates estimated driving force while taking account of inertia loss torque and a transmission efficiency, during execution of automatic parking control for automatically parking the vehicle at a target parking position. During execution of automatic parking control, the control apparatus sets a traveling mode to a gear traveling mode in which power is transmitted via a gear mechanism, or sets the traveling mode to a belt traveling mode in which power is transmitted via a stepless speed change mechanism, and fixes the speed ratio of the stepless speed change mechanism to the lowest-side speed ratio.

A vehicle oil pump having a first member and a second member relatively rotatable around one axial center such that one of them is inserted in an inner circumferential side of the other, includes: a slider member interposed there between in a direction orthogonal to the one axial center, being relatively immovable in circumferential direction around the one axial center with respect to the first member and slidable in a direction parallel to the one axial center. In the vehicle oil pump, a cam groove is formed in a circumferential surface of the second member facing the first member, a projecting portion is disposed on the slider member being fitted in the cam groove, and the cam groove causes the slider member to reciprocate in the one axial center direction in association with rotation of the slider member relative to the second member around the one axial center.

A plurality of convex portions that protrude radially outward from a plurality of positions separated in the circumferential direction are provided on the outer peripheral surface of a driven gear. Each convex portion has, in the circumferential direction of the driven gear, a rising surface that rises from a minimum diameter position to a maximum diameter position in the direction opposite the rotational direction of the driven gear, and a falling surface that falls from that maximum diameter position to a minimum diameter position that is adjacent to and in back of that maximum diameter position with respect to the rotational direction of the driven gear. The circumferential length of the falling surface is greater than the circumferential length of the rising surface.

An ECU executes a program including the steps of: setting a first throttle opening degree (S), setting a low gear torque LTE based on an engine torque map for low gear having the first throttle opening degree and an engine speed (rpm) as parameters (S), setting a high gear torque HTE based on an engine torque map for high gear having the first throttle opening degree and the engine speed as parameters (S), setting a target engine torque TTE by combining the low gear torque LTE and the high gear torque HTE by using a correction ratio KGR determined by a gear step (S), and controlling the engine to produce a required torque set by using the target engine torque TTE (S). In this way a torque can be obtained in accordance with the engine speed.

A target engine torque after an environmental correction is calculated by interpolating it between an environmentally corrected maximum engine torque and an environmentally corrected minimum engine torque such that a ratio of a nominal target engine torque between a nominal maximum engine torque and a nominal minimum engine torque under a predetermined environmental condition becomes essentially equal to a ratio of the target engine torque between the environmentally corrected maximum engine torque and the environmentally corrected minimum engine torque. The environmentally corrected maximum engine torque is obtained by multiplying the nominal maximum engine torque and a correction coefficient according to the environmental condition together.
