A fuel injection system for an engine is configured of a downstream-side fuel injection valve which is provided to an intake passage connected to a combustion chamber, and from which fuel in the intake passage is injected, and an upstream-side fuel injection valve which is provided in the intake passage upstream of the downstream-side fuel injection valve, and from which fuel in the intake passage is injected. In the fuel injection system, a fuel injection pressure applied to the upstream-side fuel injection valve is set at a higher value than a fuel injection pressure applied to the downstream-side fuel injection valve. Fuel is injected from both injection valves on fuel injection shares depending on a detected load on the engine.

Fuel injection system for engine

An intake flow control apparatus for an internal combustion engine eases operation of an air flow regulator and permits use of a short intake passage, thus providing a high output. The intake flow control apparatus includes an air routing member having an intake passage formed therein, and an air flow regulator opposed to an upstream-side opening of the intake passage. The air flow regulator moves in an intake axis direction while being guided by a light-weight guide structure to control the amount of intake air supplied. The air flow regulator may include plural valve elements different in operation timing, in which a valve actuator successively actuates the plural valve elements in accordance with a throttle operation to control the amount of intake air. The apparatus also includes a vacuum moderating structure for reducing the effective strength of a vacuum applied to the air flow regulator.

Intake flow control apparatus for an internal combustion engine

In an engine fuel injection apparatus including an injector having a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel and an air fuel injection valve that is mounted to a cylinder head so as to inject fuel directly into a combustion chamber with compressed air an increase in the size of the engine and the complexity of the structure around the engine are avoided and the pumping efficiency of a compressed air pump is improved. At least part of the compressed air supply route for supplying compressed air to the injector is provided directly in the cylinder head while passing the area in the vicinity of an exhaust port.

Engine fuel injection apparatus

An air fuel injection engine including an injector composed of a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel and an air fuel injection valve for directly injecting fuel together with compressed air into a combustion chamber and an injector housing for holding and securing the injector to an engine body. The injector is supported on a head cover, and at least part of a compressed air supply passage for supplying compressed air to the injector is provided directly in the head cover. Further, an injector housing is formed integrally with a head cover which forms part of an engine body. With this configuration, the scale of the engine, the complication of the structure around the engine, and the number of part required can be kept to a minimum.
