A filter for a plasma display panel provided with an antireflection optical film having a colorant, whereby when red light in a visible light range emitted from the plasma display panel is passed therethrough, a positional relation of a before passage position and an after passage position in a CIE xy chromaticity diagram of the red light, defines compensation for red color emission from the plasma display panel.

An optical film which comprises a color tone correcting layer (A) containing as the main component a thermoplastic resin which is soluble in a solvent and which has a glass transition temperature of from 120 to 180&#xb0; C., and containing a colorant which has a color tone correcting property, and a transparent resin layer (B) having a self-healing property and an ultraviolet ray absorption property, present on the viewer's side of the color tone correcting layer (A).

An optical film having a layer made of a transparent resin containing an anthraquinone type colorant and a diimmonium type colorant.
