A display device includes a display panel that displays an image, a back cover disposed on a back face side of the display panel, and a mounting member for fixing the display device to a wall surface. The mounting member is provided in a region extending from a front end of the display panel on a display surface side to a back end of the back cover on the back face side so as to fall within a region of the display device when seen from a side of the display device.

In an image display apparatus, a protruding portion is fixed to a chassis on a back side Zof a planar member and protrudes towards the planar member. The protruding portion has one or more first protruding members and one or more second protruding members and defines a small allowance region and a large allowance region for the planar member. In the small allowance region, an amount of displacement of the planar member towards the chassis side is regulated at most to a first predetermined value by the one or more first protruding members. In the large allowance region, an amount of displacement of the planar member towards the chassis side is regulated at most to a second predetermined value larger than the first predetermined value by the one or more second protruding member.

Image display apparatus

A display apparatus includes a display section, a control section, and a cooling section including a first ceiling section, a second ceiling section, a first connecting section and an air stream generating section. The first ceiling section is formed such that a distance of the first ceiling section from a non-display surface of the display section is shorter than that of the second ceiling section, and a ventilating area of a first ventilating passage is smaller than that of a second ventilating passage. The air stream generating section is configured such that an air stream is generated from the second ventilating passage toward the first ventilating passage so as to take the air out of the first ventilating passage and the second ventilating passage, and replenish the taken air with the ambient air. The control section is provided on a control section mounting surface of the first ceiling section.

Display apparatus including cooling section

An embodiment of a paper feed apparatus is provided with a pressure varying mechanism that varies a load pressure of a pickup roller to originals. The pressure varying mechanism has a rotating lever that switches the load pressure, a rotating arm that contacts and presses against a swinging arm of the pickup roller, and a biasing portion that biases the rotating arm to the swinging arm when the rotating arm contacts to the swinging arm. When continuously reading a wad of originals in which different-size originals are mixed, due to a user operating the rotating lever, the load pressure to the originals is increased by making the rotating arm contact to the swinging arm such that the swinging arm is pressed by the biasing portion.

Paper feed apparatus

A drive transmission mechanism of a sheet transportation apparatus of the present invention comprises an upstream transportation roller gear and a planet gear for transmitting a first driving force from a driving source to the upstream transportation roller gear, and a release mechanism for preventing the upstream transportation roller gear and the planet gear from engaging with each other. The release mechanism prevents the engagement of the planet gear and the upstream transportation roller gear when the driven gear is driven to reversely rotate by a second driving force. The release mechanism prevents the engagement by moving a release member before the planet gear and the driven gear engage with each other. The release mechanism moves the release member by the driven gear being reversely rotated by the second driving force which is a driving force other than the driving source. This makes it possible to realize a drive transmission mechanism of a sheet transportation apparatus comprising a release mechanism capable of releasing the engagement of the driven gear and the drive gear for transmitting the driving force from the driving source to the driven gear, without the need of reversely rotating the driving source or the fear of impairing the driving force from the driving source.

Drive transmission mechanism of sheet transportation apparatus and document transportation apparatus

A document reader includes an exterior panel covering a region of a document feed path including a second image read position from outside. The document reader also includes a first open/close member forming a region of the exterior panel including a portion opposed to the image read position. The document reader further includes a second open/close member positioned inwardly of the first open/close member to define a region of the document feed path including the image read position. The first and second open/close members are supported at respective different fulcrums for opening/closing movement about respective shafts extending perpendicularly to the document feed direction, thereby shielding the second image read position from extraneous light.

An image reading apparatus is provided with a first image reading unit and a second image reading unit. The first image reading unit reads an image on a first side of a document that is transported in a predetermined direction on a document transport path, at a first image reading position. The second image reading unit reads an image on a second side of the document that is transported in the predetermined direction on the document transport path, at a second image reading position. A transport roller and a bent portion of the document transport path are arranged in this order along the document transport direction upstream of each of the first image reading position and the second image reading position in the document transport direction.

The serial printer includes a carriage reciprocating in a main scanning direction, a reading sensor mounted in carriage, a timing fence arranged in the main scanning direction, a mechanism preventing movement of carriage in the main scanning direction, and a controlling portion detecting a set condition for image formation in accordance with read data of timing fence from reading sensor for controlling image formation. The controlling portion detects the set condition for image formation in accordance with the read data obtained from the timing fence, so that detection of the set condition for image formation is enabled without increasing the size of an apparatus and cost, or without decreasing a processing efficiency in image formation.

A serial printer includes a carriage reciprocating in a main scanning direction, a reading sensor mounted in carriage, a timing fence arranged in the main scanning direction, a mechanism preventing movement of carriage in the main scanning direction, and a controlling portion detecting a set condition for image formation in accordance with read data of timing fence from reading sensor for controlling image formation. Controlling portion detects the set condition for image formation only in accordance with the read data of timing fence, so that detection of the set condition for image formation is enabled without increasing the size of an apparatus and cost, or without decreasing a processing efficiency in image formation.

A sheet with an image formed thereon by an ink jet mechanism is held over the second sheet output tray. Then the sheet being held on the second sheet output tray is pushed out in the direction of discharge of the sheet by means of a rotating sheet discharge arm so that the sheet drops onto the first sheet output tray.

A thermal printer includes a carriage having a first holding device for detachably holding a cassette that incorporates an ink ribbon and a thermal printing head for effecting printing on a recording sheet through the ink ribbon; a guide track for guiding the carriage in a direction perpendicular to a feed direction of the recording sheet; a carriage driver for reciprocating the carriage along the guide track; a cassette holder having a plurality of second holding devices arranged in line each for detachably holding one cassette, one of the first and second holding devices having a pair of rigid holding members for detachably holding the cassette by relative movements in directions of gripping and releasing the cassette, and the other having a pair of elastic holding members for elastically holding the cassette by gripping it in between so that the cassette can be inserted into or pulled out from the elastic holding members; first mechanism for reciprocating the cassette holder between a waiting position and a delivering position while supporting the cassette holder so that an array of the second holding devices are parallel with and opposed to the guide track; second mechanism capable of causing the relative movements of the rigid holding members and a power source for continuously driving the first and second mechanisms.
