A computer of an active vibration damping device calculates an output average duty ratio which is used for realizing operation command values. On the basis of the operation command values and an integer value point number, which is set so as to become larger as a period of rotation of the drive source becomes longer, the computer calculates a reference average duty ratio for realizing the operation command values when an actuator internal temperature is a reference temperature. The sound generating device for vehicles includes an input unit that receives an input of a speed of a vehicle; and a generation unit that generates a sound including a plurality of frequency components when the speed of the vehicle is a first speed. When the speed of the vehicle changes from the first speed to a second speed (higher than the first speed), the generation unit shifts the frequency components included in the sound to a higher frequency side and reduces the sound at a higher frequency band in the shifted frequency components. The generation unit preferably performs pitch shift processing and low pass filter processing (and more preferably performs moving average processing) on the sound.

An active vibration isolating support apparatus reduces vibration transmitted from a reciprocating engine. The apparatus supports the engine via vibration isolating support units each of which includes an actuator. The vibration isolating units are disposed on opposite sides of a crankshaft of the engine. Active vibration damping support device

In a so-called motoring state at the time of engine starting before actuating engine, there is a problem that a roll vibration, which is generated when an engine revolution speed Ne is at a predetermined engine revolution speed and vibrates the engine and the vehicle body largely, can not be suppressed. For this reason, the present invention provides an active vibration isolating support apparatus in which the roll vibration can be suppressed in the motoring state at the time of engine starting.

The natural vibration frequency of a roll resonance which does not occur since the engine rotation number is high in a normal operation range of an engine is detected at the time of engine start or stop when the engine rotation number is lower than the normal operation range, and thus the natural vibration frequency of the roil resonance can be detected with a good accuracy. A current is generated by an electromotive force of an actuator of the active vibration isolation support device excited by the engine immediately before stopping its rotation, and the frequency of the current is used to detect the natural vibration frequency of the engine, and the roll resonance of the engine is suppressed by controlling the operation of the active vibration isolation support device at the time of engine start based on the natural vibration frequency, thereby not only eliminating the need of a specific frequency detection sensor, but also effectively reducing the vibration at the time of engine start when the roll resonance becomes strong.

When a revolution speed of the engine (crankshaft) changes faster or slower, the vibration from the engine is propagated to an occupant in the vehicle, and the occupant may feel a sense of discomfort. For this reason, the present invention provides an active vibration isolating support apparatus and method for controlling the same to suppress the propagation of the vibration from the engine to the vehicle body so that the occupant may feel less sense of discomfort even if the revolution speed of the engine changes.
