The autonomous mobile body includes a recognition unit that recognizes an instruction given, an action planning unit that plans an action on the basis of the instruction recognized, and an operation control unit that controls execution of the action planned, in which the action planning unit changes a detail of a predetermined action as an action instruction that is an instruction for the predetermined action is repeated. The present technology can be applied to a robot, for example.

Provided is an information processing device to activate communication between an autonomous operation body and a user. The information processing device includes an application control unit that controls operation of an application relating to communication between an autonomous operation body and a user and a reflection unit that causes the autonomous operation body to reflect an operation performed by the user in the application. In the information processing device, the application control unit controls operation of an avatar imitating the autonomous operation body, and the reflection unit causes the autonomous operation body to reflect a reward obtained by the avatar on the basis of the operation performed by the user.

Provided is a process for producing satisfactory particles held in porous silica. A light beam scanning system for use as a laser beam scanner in a laser beam printer has a polygonal mirror for deflecting a light beam emitted from a laser diode to scan a photosensitive drum with a scanning light beam. The scanning light beam is reflected by a mirror to a photodetector. In response to the reflected scanning light beam, the photodetector produces an output signal which is processed into a horizontal scanning signal to determine the timing to start writing information on the photosensitive drum with the scanning light beam. The photodetector has a detecting surface for receiving the reflected scanning fight beam. The detecting surface is oriented to prevent reflections therefrom of the reflected scanning light beam from traveling back to the light beam source through the mirror and the polygonal mirror.
