A method for correcting an image includes: moving first and second ink jet heads and a medium relative to each other, each of the first and second ink jet heads including nozzles and drive elements corresponding to the nozzles respectively; discharging ink droplets from the nozzles of the first and second ink jet heads, by connecting each of the drive elements to one of power supply circuits and by applying voltage to each of the drive elements, the power supply circuits having different output voltage values each other; determining a density difference between a first image region and a second image region; and switching the voltage to be applied to first drive elements to a first voltage by switching the power supply circuits to be connected to the first drive elements based on the density difference.

Method for correcting image and printing apparatus

A piezoelectric actuator is disclosed that may include a insulating layer, individual electrodes, a common electrode, and a piezoelectric layer. The common electrode may include divisional electrodes that are connected with one another. The individual electrodes may be disposed between the insulating layer and the piezoelectric layer while the piezoelectric layer may be disposed between the individual electrodes and the common electrode. Further, the divisional electrodes may be configured to face the individual electrodes.

A liquid discharge head includes: a channel substrate having a nozzle and a channel communicating with the nozzle; a driving element arranged on the channel substrate; and a driving signal generating circuit which generates a driving signal to drive the driving element. The driving signal includes a non-discharge driving signal by which the driving element is driven so that liquid in the channel is not discharged from the nozzle. The non-discharge driving signal includes at least one first slight-vibration waveform and at least one second slight-vibration waveform. The first slight-vibration waveform is a waveform by which the driving element is displaced by a first displacement amount. The second slight-vibration waveform is a waveform by which the driving element is displaced by a second displacement amount that is larger than the first displacement amount. The at least one second slight-vibration waveform follows after the at least one first slight-vibration waveform.

Liquid discharge head and printing apparatus provided with liquid discharge head

A method for producing a liquid transport apparatus is disclosed. The liquid transport apparatus includes a pressure chamber plate, a ceramics layer formed on a surface of the pressure chamber plate, a piezoelectric layer formed on the ceramics layer, and an electrode formed on the piezoelectric layer. The ceramics layer is formed by heating an insulating ceramic material at a temperature lower than an annealing temperature of the piezoelectric layer. Accordingly, the atoms of the pressure chamber plate are suppressed from being diffused into the piezoelectric layer.

A printing apparatus includes: power supply circuits including at least first and second power supply circuits; a head including nozzles, the nozzles forming groups arranged in a first direction, each of the groups including nozzle arrays arranged in the first direction, each of the nozzle arrays extending in a second direction intersecting with the first direction, and each of the nozzles being associated with any of the power supply circuits; and a memory storing information. The information indicates correspondence relationships between the nozzles and the power supply circuits, between the nozzles and the groups, and between the nozzles and the nozzle arrays. Printing is performed by driving the head based on the information. The groups include a first group and a second group adjacent to each other in the first direction. The first group includes a first nozzle array adjacent to the second group in the first direction.

A method for manufacturing a piezoelectric actuator is disclosed that includes forming a vibration plate, forming a plurality of electrodes on the vibration plate, forming a piezoelectric layer on the electrodes, and forming a common electrode on the piezoelectric layer.

A liquid cartridge includes a liquid chamber, a partitioning wall partitioning the liquid chamber into a first liquid chamber and a second liquid chamber, a communication opening through which liquid can flow from the first liquid chamber to the second liquid chamber, and a movable member which is movable between a block position and a communication position. When the movable member is in the block position, the movable member is configured to prevent the liquid from flowing from the first liquid chamber to the second liquid chamber through the communication opening, and when the movable member is in the communication position, the liquid is allowed to flow from the first liquid chamber to the second liquid chamber through the communication opening.

A vibration layer is formed by the AD method on a cavity plate before forming pressure chambers, a common electrode is formed on the vibration layer, and a piezoelectric layer is formed on the common electrode by the AD method. Subsequently, the pressure chambers are formed in the cavity plate by the etching. After that, individual electrodes are formed on the piezoelectric layer. Subsequently, the stack of the cavity plate, the vibration layer, the common electrode, the piezoelectric layer, and the individual electrodes is heated at about 850&#xb0; C. to simultaneously perform the annealing of the piezoelectric layer and the sintering of the individual electrodes and the common electrode. Accordingly, the atoms of the cavity plate are suppressed from being diffused into the driving portions of the piezoelectric layer.
