A magnetic composite body contains a first metal magnetic particle and a second metal magnetic particle, and fine particles are in contact with the first and second metal magnetic particles. The fine particles are insulating and non-magnetic particles. A first oxide film is provided on the surface of the first metal magnetic particle, and a second oxide film is provided on the surface of the second metal magnetic particle. The fine particles may be provided on a surface of the first metal magnetic particles and separated from each other. The fine particles are insulating and non-magnetic and may include first fine particles. Optionally, first and second fine particles, or hydrophobically treated SiO2 particles, may be provided.

One object is to provide a magnetic body having a high mechanical strength. A magnetic body according to one embodiments of the present invention includes: first particles of a first alloy containing Fe and Cr; second particles of a second alloy containing at least one of Al or Mn; and bonding portions containing at least one of Al oxide or Mn oxide, the bonding portions bonding the first particles to each other. The bonding portions containing at least one of Al oxide or Mn oxide increase the mechanical strength of the magnetic body.

A coil component includes: a laminated body containing a plurality of metal magnetic particles; and a coil conductor provided in the laminated body so as to contact with the laminated body and wound around a coil axis, wherein the laminated body has an insulating portion including a non-metal magnetic particle region defined by at least three of the plurality of metal magnetic particles in a sectional surface of the laminated body, and wherein in the insulating portion, an atomic percent of Si is highest among those of materials constituting the non-metal magnetic particle region other than oxygen.

Coil component

A coil component that can be made thinner while ensuring sufficient magnetic characteristics includes a magnetic part, a conductor part, and multiple insulator parts. The magnetic part is constituted by magnetic alloy grains. The conductor part has multiple winding parts and is wound around one axis inside the magnetic part. The multiple insulator parts are each placed between the multiple winding parts, each having a winding shape that includes two joining surfaces that are respectively joined to two winding parts facing each other at least partially in the direction of the one axis, and are each constituted by electrically insulating grains.

Coil component and method for manufacturing the same

A coil component has a magnetic body of rectangular solid shape, a coil with N turns (N is a positive number of 2 or greater) provided inside the magnetic body, an insulating intermediate part, and external electrodes. The coil has a first conductor layer, a second conductor layer, and an inter-layer connection part. The first conductor layer has a first multiple winding part which is wound around one axis with a first spacing. The second conductor layer has a second multiple winding part which is wound around the one axis with the first spacing and faces the first conductor layer. The insulating intermediate part is provided inside the magnetic body and forms, between the first conductor layer and second conductor layer, a second spacing corresponding to a thickness equal to or less than the product of the first spacing and (N&#x2212;1).
