It is an object of the present invention to provide a modified polypropylene composition for forming laminates, which enables prevention of lowering of interlaminar bond strength even in the case where it is subjected to high-speed molding or subjected to stretch molding, and a laminate using the composition and having excellent interlaminar bond properties. The present invention relates to a modified polypropylene composition comprising a propylene-based polymer (A-1), 0 to 45% by weight of a propylene-based polymer (A-2), an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (B) having a melt flow rate (MFR; ASTM D1238, 230&#xb0; C., load of 2.16 kg) of 0.01 to 40 g/10 min and a density (ASTM D1505) of not more than 0.900 g/cm, and a specific amount of modified polypropylene (C) a part or all of which has been graft-modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof.

Modified polypropylene composition and laminate using the same

Laminating resin compositions of the invention enable excellent productivity in the lamination processes, and are free from deterioration in optical characteristics such as transparency or surface properties inherent to resins such as polypropylenes. Multilayer structures obtained by laminating the composition on a substrate have tear strength which is as high as that of multilayer structures obtained by simply laminating a polyolefin resin such as polypropylene on a substrate. The laminating resin composition includes a polyolefin resin and a polyethylene wax having a density in the range of 890 to 955 kg/mas measured by a density gradient tube method in accordance with JIS K 7112 and a number average molecular weight (Mn) in terms of polyethylene in the range of 500 to 2900 as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC).

Laminating resin composition and multilayer structure

An olefin wax (A) is (i) a copolymer (A1) obtained by copolymerizing ethylene and at least one diene or a copolymer (A2) obtained by copolymerizing ethylene, at least one olefin selected from &#x3b1;-olefins of 3 to 12 carbon atoms and at least one diene; wherein (ii) the content of unsaturated groups per one molecule is in the range of 0.5 to 3.0 groups; (iii) the density is in the range of 870 to 980 kg/m; (iv) the melting point is in the range of 70 to 130&#xb0; C.; (v) the number-average molecular weight is in the range of 400 to 5,000; and (vi) the ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight-average molecular weight to the number-average molecular weight is not more than 4.0. A silicone-modified olefin wax can be obtained by reacting hydrogen silicone with the olefin wax (A). Cosmetics contain the silicone-modified olefin wax.

The present invention provides a process for producing a thermoplastic resin composition comprising a polyolefin wax having good dispersibility for a thermoplastic resin, a molded product, which is excellent in physical properties such as blocking property and mechanical properties, from the thermoplastic resin composition and a process for producing the molded product. Specifically, a process for producing a thermoplastic resin composition comprises melt-kneading a mixture of a polyolefin wax (A) which has a passing ratio through a mesh having a sieve opening of 5.66 mm&#x3c6; of 95% by weight or more, and a non-passing ratio through a mesh having a sieve opening of 2.00 mm&#x3c6; of 95% by weight or more, and is in the particle form, and a thermoplastic resin (B), a molded product, which is excellent in physical properties such as blocking property and mechanical properties, obtained from the thermoplastic resin composition and a process for producing the molded product are provided.

Process for producing thermoplastic resin composition

A polyester binder resin for a toner that excels in low-temperature fixing properties, offset resistance, development durability, long-term storability, electrification properties, pulverizability, etc.; and a toner containing the same. The binder resin for a toner is comprised of a polyester resin and, dispersed therein, a wax having a substituent selected from among a substituent of aromatic structure (representative example thereof is a group derived from a styrene compound), a carboxyl group and a hydroxyl group, or comprised of a polyester resin having the above wax introduced in the structure thereof. The toner containing the above binder resin for toner exhibits excellent capability in not only, as fundamental performance of toner, low-temperature fixing properties and offset resistance but also development durability, antiblocking properties and pulverizability.

A binder resin for a toner comprises a polyester component having a specific structure which is not soluble in tetrahydrofuran, and a polyester component having a specific branched structure which is soluble in tetrahydrofuran. The binder resin can provide a toner, which is superior in low-temperature fixation and offset resistance and can be used in high speed printing in response to the recent market demands owing to its specific structure.

A binder for a toner containing a polyester resin (A); and a block copolymer (B) comprising a block comprising a sequence of ethylene hydrocarbon and/or a conjugated diene hydrocarbon-derived constituent units, and a block comprising a sequence of styrene-derived constituent units; and/or the hydrogenated product of the block copolymer, i.e., the hydrogenated block copolymer. The binder can be used in a toner which can exhibit superior fixing properties, offset resistance, development durability or the like. Thus, it is possible to satisfy the needs of the markets that require a high-speed printer, low-temperature fixing properties or the like. Recycled PET products can also be used for raw materials, thus contributing to the recycle society.
