A road information learning device acquires a map extraction curve and a measurement curve for a traveling curve along which a vehicle travels, determines whether the map extraction curve and the measurement curve correspond to an identical traveling curve, and registers the measurement curve as a definitive registration curve when the map extraction curve and the measurement curve correspond to the identical traveling curve, and a predetermined definitive registration condition is satisfied.

Road information learning device

A driving assist apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a curve detection unit that detects a curve ahead of a vehicle, a driving operation assistance unit that, based on the curve detection result, provides driving operation assistance to enable the vehicle to properly pass through the curve, a diversion determination unit that determines whether the vehicle position is diverted from the curve during curve passage, a diversion-confirmed curve storage unit that, when the vehicle position is diverted from the curve, memorizes the curve as a diversion-confirmed curve, and an assistance suppression unit that, when the curve detected by the curve detection unit is the diversion-confirmed curve, suppresses the driving operation assistance by the driving operation assistance unit. When the vehicle position returns to the curve after diverting from the curve, the diversion determination unit determines that the vehicle position is not diverted from the curve.

Driving assist apparatus and driving assist method

A traffic sign determination device includes: an image recognition section which detects a first traffic regulation sign by performing an image recognition process on an image of an area in front of a vehicle picked up by an imaging section provided on the vehicle; a map information acquisition section which, using a position of the vehicle, acquires a road link, including a second road at the position of the vehicle, from a storage section; and a traffic sign determination section which, upon detection of a current first traffic regulation sign on a current road link, determines, until the vehicle passes an end point of the current road link, that a current traffic regulation sign to be notified to an occupant of the vehicle is the current first traffic regulation sign detected on the current road link.

Traffic sign determination device

An image recognition section detects a first traffic regulation sign from a picked-up image of an area in front of a vehicle. An acquisition section uses a position of the vehicle to acquire a road link, including a second traffic regulation sign at the position of the vehicle, from a storage section. When no current first traffic regulation sign is detected on a current road link after turning-right or turning-left of the vehicle, a determination section determines a current final traffic regulation sign on the current road link, which is to be notified to a vehicle occupant, by use of a degree of adequacy of cooperation between previous first and second traffic regulation signs detected and acquired on a previous road link before the turning-right or turning-left of the vehicle, but also previous and current factors acquired on the previous and current road links.

An accelerator pedal reaction force control device for controlling a depression reaction force of an accelerator pedal provided to a motor vehicle, the control device including: a reaction force actuator that provides the accelerator pedal with a depression reaction force; a target reaction force setting unit that sets a target depression reaction force; and a vehicle speed maintenance depression amount setting unit that sets an amount of depression of the accelerator pedal for maintaining a current vehicle speed as a vehicle speed maintenance depression amount, wherein, when a pedal depression amount exceeds the vehicle speed maintenance depression amount, the target reaction force setting unit performs a cruize assist whereby the target depression reaction force is set to a value of a cruize assist depression reaction force.

Accelerator pedal reaction force control device

A vehicle travel control device can accurately determine a driver's intention to adjust the vehicle speed. After applying attention attracting reaction force corresponding to outside circumstances and the like to an accelerator pedal through a reaction force application mechanism, a reaction force control unit outputs intention determining reaction force that is used to determine the driver's intention to adjust the vehicle speed and is smaller than the attention attracting reaction force, and determines the intention to adjust the vehicle speed on the basis of the accelerator pedal operation amount of the driver while the intention determining reaction force is being applied to the accelerator pedal through the reaction force application mechanism.

Vehicle travel control device

Provided is a reaction force control device for reducing discomfort experienced by the driver operating the accelerator pedal when continuous curves are being traveled, and setting the characteristics of the reaction force on the accelerator pedal in accordance with the curves. In the case that the target reaction force, which has been set prior to entering a subsequently traveled second curve, is greater than the current reaction force acting on the acceleration pedal and being generated during the turn through the first curve, a reaction force controller controls the operation so as to reduce the target reaction force imparted on the second curve until the vehicle leaves the first curve.

Reaction force control device

An accelerator pedal device provided with a driving control device. The driving control device generates a braking force for braking a vehicle when the operation quantity of an acceleration pedal is below a first threshold value, and generates a driving force for driving the vehicle when the operation quantity exceeds a second threshold value larger than the first threshold value. The driving control device does not generate either the driving force or the braking force, and allows the vehicle to drive inertially, when the operation quantity ranges from the first threshold value to the second threshold value.

Accelerator pedal device

A reaction force apparatus incorporated in a vehicle includes a reaction force controller for setting an acceleration intention boundary threshold value, which comprises a threshold value with respect to a rate of depression of an accelerator pedal, and which determines whether the driver of the vehicle intends to accelerate the vehicle quickly or gradually. The reaction force controller reduces the reaction force when the rate of depression exceeds the acceleration intention boundary threshold value, whereas the reaction force controller maintains the reaction force when the rate of depression is less than the acceleration intention boundary threshold value.

Reaction force apparatus

When a target vehicle speed setting unit switches from a target vehicle speed to a higher target vehicle speed, a reaction force controller of a reaction force apparatus lowers, at the same ratio, a reaction force applying characteristic, which corresponds to the target vehicle speed before being switched to the higher target vehicle speed.
