A conductive polymer material which can achieve longer operating life by improving resistance stability at the time of performing continuous conduction, a method for producing the conductive polymer material, and an image forming device member are provided. A conductive polymer material containing a quaternary ammonium base incorporated in a main chain of a polymer material as an electrolyte cation, and an alkyl sulfate radical as an electrolyte anion.

A conductive roller in which dripping of a water-based coating during the manufacture thereof is restrained, and a manufacturing method thereof. The conductive roller includes a shaft, at least one elastic layer formed on the outer periphery of the shaft and a surface layer formed on the outer peripheral surface of the elastic layer. The elastic layer is formed by using a coating for elastic layers containing a liquid absorbing agent, and the surface layer is formed by using a coating for surface layers. The method comprises forming an elastic layer by applying a coating for elastic layers containing a liquid absorbing agent on the outer periphery of the shaft and drying to form the elastic layer; and forming a surface layer by, after forming the elastic layer, applying a coating for surface layers on the formed elastic layer and drying to form the surface layer.

The developing rollerincludes a shaft, an elastic layersupported on the outer periphery of the shaft, and at least one coating layerformed on the outer periphery of the elastic layer. The volume resistivity of a layer on the inner periphery side of the elastic layer and the coating layer is smaller than the volume resistivity of a layer on the outer periphery side, and the difference between the volume resistivities of the elastic layer and the coating layer positioned on the outermost periphery side is in the range of 2.8 to 4.3 (Log &#x3a9;cm).

Developing roller

An electrically conductive roller which may easily obtain a desired surface roughness, and which has good setting property without problems such as high cost and compression set is provided. An electrically conductive rollercomprises a shaft, an elastic layersupported on the periphery of the shaft and one surface layerformed on the peripheral surface of the elastic layer. The elastic layeris composed of a urethane foam in which the degree of swelling is not more than 120% with respect to the solvent used in the formation of the surface layer. The urethane foam preferably contains, as a polyol component, a polyester polyol having a hydroxyl value of 200 to 400 and 3 or more functional groups.

Provided is an electrifying roller which is manufactured more easily, and has a good electrical conduction property with a small amount of electrically conductive material. Provided are electrifying rollers () comprising a shaft, an elastic layerformed on the periphery of the shaft, and a surface layerformed on the periphery surface of the elastic layer, wherein the elastic layeris formed by an ultraviolet curing resin having a phosphoester group. The developing rollercomprises a shaft, an elastic layerformed on an outer periphery of the shaftand a surface coating layerformed on an outer peripheral face of the elastic layer, in which the surface coating layercomprises a urethane resin formed by crosslinking a lactone-modified polyol with a polyisocyanate. The urethane resin is preferable to be formed by crosslinking the lactone-modified polyol with two or more kinds of polyisocyanates.

A developing roller which shows an excellent environmental performance and is free from occurrence of toner filming and toner leakage is provided. The developing rollercomprises a shaft, an elastic layersupported on the outer periphery of the shaft, and a single surface layerformed on the outer peripheral surface of the elastic layer. The elastic layercomprises a polyurethane foam and the surface layercomprises an aqueous polyurethane resin as a major component and further a water-dispersible silica and/or an aqueous silicone acrylic graft polymer. As the aqueous polyurethane resin, a UV curing resin may be preferably used.
