An LED lamp Aincludes a plurality of LED modulesand a substrateon which the LED modulesare mounted in a row. A light guidecovering the LED modulesis provided on the substrate. The light guideis held in close contact with each of the LED modules. With this arrangement, a proper amount of light is obtained with the use of a smaller number of LED modulesor with less power consumption.

The globe is configured to diffusingly transmit light from the light emitting unit. The light emitting unit provides a light amount not less than 50% of the maximum light amount in a region not exceeding &#xb1;60&#xb0; about the central axis extending in the first direction set as 0&#xb0;. The globe provides a light amount not less than 50% in a region exceeding &#xb1;125&#xb0; about the central axis set as 0&#xb0;.
